#valistart key in wrong place
54 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
now it wont work for me at all
Can't you edit and select an area for the winblock?
whats winblock
Switch functional > edit, I think that makes a selection for the invisible block that hovers over the start button
my start button moves when I open up things but the button doesn't follow along
I think im just gonna uninstall it because it's sort of breaking everything
do you have win11? because of the centered taskbar, i think the start menu button moves, but the vallistart but stays at the same place, i sadly had to disable this function.
yes I have windows 11
hmm i have absolutely the same issue. Maybe my theory is correct, @near berry may you check this out, or should we make a github ticket?
please @near berry fix it on windows 11 🙏
@near berry
Yea, programs move around on centered taskbars now, and there's no fix for winblock in this case unless you keep the taskbar icons left sided instead....
How winblock works is that it takes a certain area selection on your screen and anytime left button clicks are pressed on that area, it triggers Vallistart to open....
That's why I just use a hotkey or maybe a second taskbar icon for Vallistart instead
In short, winblock is stuck unless you manually select it again
yeah i maybe compledtely disable vallistart, because it sometimes opens only after 20 seconds, often breaks, crashes....
@near berry can just make it move when you open more apps but for some reason they aren't responding to this thread :/
Lucifer, winblock doesn't work like that, ill just make it short, winblock is static and can't move around unless you manually select the area again
yeaj but what if it moves itself
....
Otherwise, you would just have to deal with the taskbar aligned towards the left instead of centered
Not sure if w11 changed it so it's not left aligned anymore though
I only know that startallback has the function for left aligned taskbar
wat
I don't want my task bar ugly like that
Then, just make a taskbar shortcut or hotkey
w11 is like that, programs move around when its centered
you open a program, it expands every time
I know >_>
yes that is why jax MUST fix it
that is a lot more complicated than you think
to code
also, you have to look at his announcement
why would it be complicated at all it's just moving it left when you have more things open and more shortcuts
Jaxcore is just using configuration files
You need a more complicated coding program to do that
bruh
also, his announcement
#🔴︱announcements message
In short, no more s-hub, but also only MINOR updates
yeah but it's a bug fixes
Anyways, you have to wait for Jax to respond, I don't qualify as an experienced coder for configuration files, but I can tell it'll be more complicated to work on this.....Also, Jax isn't responding as much as he used to, and he's the only developer for core so
....
From my understanding on how this would work again, winblock would have to keep repositioning itself every time a program is triggered
Understand that it will keep expanding or shrinking every time something is opened or closed
So you would have to do this probably like 10-15 times depending on how many programs would open
And taskbar icons could be small, medium, or large
different sizes have different spans for winblock making it even more complicated
and how would you know if a icon moves left or right?
You can use the psuedo start button, but that would just be a new icon on your taskbar
