Should I just spoil it and bias other people's expectations?

Review: Vibe Model on R4P NNLC Gen 2
||* Everything is compared to TR7 which has precise and confident lat. TR7 feels like it is locked onto a rail in lane center.

  • Vibe feels a lot like Vikander. Not terrible. Vibe and Vikander are able to consistently stay in lane on my Toyota. TR10 can't stay in lane.
  • But lat is noticeably less precise than TR7. It works pretty well but it feels less confident. It is meandering a bit between lane center and right line. Not terrible. TR7 is just more predictable.
  • Low speed lat feels weaker than TR7.
  • I didn't test much long. It utterly failed to recognize highway slowing into a red light. I had to slam on the brakes. It handled someone merging in front of me into a slowdown pretty well (but that might have also been tn Dec so I don't know for sure).||

Vision: tr10, policy: tr7. My guess.

This is notable in that it got rid of the unusable parts of TR10 for my Toyota.

TR7 is so good we have no channel to discuss it.

Vibe Model does a bit worse on hkg-angle.

  • Difficult to see lane lines TR7 handles fine but Vibe crossed the line repeatedly. The white lines drawn on the screen were dancing suggesting it can't see it.
  • Highway curves it crossed both right and left lines. Heavy left bias.
Not dependable. Switched back to TR7. Wayyyyy better.
#

Vikander worked a bit better than this with hkg-angle. This suggests Vibe isn't universally better than Vikander.

I just compared it to Vikander, I think Vikander is better for overall lat/long. Vibe likes to cross into the other lane on some curves.

This worked quite well for me today. Lat is really strong, long was great but maybe not quite as great as TR13, will have to compare with longer drives

One of the better models I've used in general from a comfort perspective, hugs left for me, and it did decide to exit the left lane an use the shoulder on I-5 once, a bit spooky. Just a trip from Seattle to Portland to test so far.

Testing as daily driver, smooth on highway with lane changes. I'm not sure it's aggressive enough with city curves. It also treated a stop light like a stop sign, the first and only time I tested that on this morning's drive. Switched back to this from TR14 for the nice highway behavior.

yeah i randomly tried this model (again) earlier this week and it was pretty solid. Haven't tried 16v2 yet so i'll probably give it a go.

Had a great 2 hr drive today, haven’t heard much about this model but it was smooth!
Could be a little biased to a side at times, but at high speeds it felt very planted.
