Hi,
Would like to report a hardware relay issue error during certain drives. Usually resolved after rebooting the device on the spot. I am on comma3x, escc hardware configuration with smdps. Hyundai Ioniq 2017 Hybrid.
Finally gotten time to upload the rlogs with wifi from next door restaurants lol.

Looks like your ESCC started forwarding SCC12 again, so sunnypilot detected it and stopped all longitudinal commands. cc @cursive gorge
@paper jewel Top is sunnypilot, bottom is radar (forwarded by ESCC). Looks like somehow messages stopped being sent from sunnypilot at some point, which should not be the case at all. I suspect it may be a physical connection issue. Can you rule things out by replacing with another new OBD C cable, as a starter?

Interesting... It's like ESCC stopped seeing sunnypilot, not that sunnypilot stopped sending them 🤔 because the way we have it setup is that it will flip back and forth the forwarding depending on whether it sees or not SP @plain orchid or am I mixing stuff with the latest FW (still in development)

This is with the older firmware. You could see that sunnypilot actually stopped sending them, and ESCC saw that there're no more messages being sent from sunnypilot, then started forwarding about 200 ms after
The gap from ESCC stopped seeing the long commands to ESCC started forwarding SCC messages from the car match what we have in the firmware.
I'm suspecting it's something with the OBD C cable that connects to the C3/3X.

I think the new firmware would be more tolerant, I have a slightly tighter gap of 150ms, and could be reduced further maybe 🤔

Gotcha. I still wanna understand why it was doing this, seems kinda odd that we just stop sending commands. @paper jewel if you want to test without touching hardware stuff, comment out the ESCC check in hyundai/interface.py, restart, and go for drives a bit
This would disable radar completely, which mean ESCC wouldn't really affect sunnypilot sending messages here

Hmm some update here. Didn't do any changes to hardware and software. But was updated to the latest dev version whenever possible. This hardware relay malfunction error has begun actually since I started using escc in around Feb 2024.
In the past 2 weeks, I noticed that the error for hardware relay malfunction has been significantly reduced, only once or twice in the past 2 weeks. Previously it was like every few drives there will be the hardware relay malfunction error.
The control lagging error not sure I mention here or not also becomes lesser. From previously almost every drives becomes like about once every 5 or 6 drives.
It has been significantly reduced. Not sure is it about the firmware changes u guys mentioned.

Harness Relay Malfuction appears because ESCC started forwarding the message afterwards. Could be something on the openpilot/sunnypilot side, but I think it's something with the firmware still.
