On activating, the screen displays "Openpilot Unavailable Seatbelt Unlatched" (picture taken by passenger), and the comma does not steer the car.

Using Sunnypilot 0.9.5.3-release on a comma 3x with a Nissan Leaf.
No issues on previous days. A restart of both the comma and car were tried with no change. Seatbelts were removed and re-latched with no change.

Here's a route from comma connect where the issue occured: 4f34b2291228d28e|2024-01-11--14-31-13--0

Here's a similar route from a later date using stock openpilot with the same hardware and no errors for reference. 4f34b2291228d28e|2024-01-15--11-04-10--0

I replaced Sunnypilot with openpilot as I needed it for a long trip recently. I'll try reinstalling Sunnypilot and get back to you in the next few days.

The issue happens whenever openpilot is engaged. Unbuckling the seatbelt seems to have no effect. I only tried unbuckling the seatbelt after the issue appeared.

I'm not sure if it's relevant, but openpilot is not able to force cruise control to disengage on pressing the gas pedal by emulating a cancel button press in a Nissan Leaf. As a work-around, openpilot will tell the car that the driver's seatbelt is momentarily unbuckled when the gas pedal is pressed. This has the desired effect of cancelling cruise control.

I have "cancel on gas pedal" disabled, and haven't changed any settings recently, so it's possible this is not relevant at all.

There has been a report of the same issue using FrogPilot on the CommaAi Discord.

The reason why I said them is because you had same issue also with frogpilot

The issue does not present itself on stock.
It looks like the issue might be on stock, but hidden but some setting being off, and the forks turn that setting on.

Here's a route from FrogPilot with almost identical symptoms 4f34b2291228d28e|2024-02-03--09-21-19--0

@stray garnet was this an issue prior to 0.9.5.3? Was 0.9.5.2 having this issue?

We cannot troubleshoot routes from other forks.

#

The APIs are different and what work/don’t work in other forks don’t help us much in identifying the issue.

The signal is being permanently set with your car, there is no toggle or new changes that modify this signal with your car.

#

Which is interesting, cause another user mentioned that they are seeing the opposite behavior.

@stray garnet We found the issue. The car model is incorrectly recognized for your car. There's nothing in the code that's causing this, but more of a platform detection that caused this.

#

The seatbelt detection is different among different Leaf.

#

@stray garnet dev-c3 Build #1286 has this fix for you.

Update to the latest, then keep the car off, go to "Vehicle", select Nissan Leaf Instrument Cluster 2018-23, then after that, start the car.

#

Look out for the update in #dev-feedback , then let us know how it goes!

@raw kindle dev-c3 works, no issues found.
