If your opponent is lower as well you can ground side special, jab into dtilt and you’ll have to read tech direction into jab again as well

Our Jab is the slowest in the game. Slower than Jason's. So were forced to use Side Special as a punishment tool and combo starter. Which can make us very predictable.

Combo routes: As much Nubia gets praised for being a good juggler her combo routes aren't true at times. As she loses heavily to DI. Now alot of characters in the game lose to DI as well but with Nubia being already handicapped as it is, it's not helping that she's the slowest character in the game i.e the the slowest ASSASSIN

Her frame data is just too honest. While every other character in the game is out here throwing out normals with little to no end lag. Were over here still floating like we got hit with Tinker Bell's pixie dust. We get punished for attempting to punish in a platform fighter. How does that work PFG?

Your side b both grounded and aerial are some of your best options not only in close quarters but if you're expecting or going in for an approach. Grounded up special is a good raw kill move and movement tool which can be used without much punishment, nair is another decently safe move to approach but it's range can be a bit lacking. Both neutral specials go pretty far and are useful for people spamming armor. You shouldn't use down tilt or neutral light too much and up tilt is also a good option. Jab is bad but does lead into side special into a nair which does a lot of damage. At later % side special into fair becomes true most of the time too or you need a dodge in to do it.

It depends really. Matchup and opponent tendencies. Typically you use her jab as a call out or you react to their dash in as they are about to enter the range of jab. Think of it as a pre-emptive tool to disrupt approaches or call out defensive options from afar rather than something like a shaggy jab that is used as an engager. Also, if you want a quick punish Fast fall nair into your opponent or if you are really comfortable and your timing is good, Sair is still a reliable punish, especially with short hop and fast fall changes. The fact that you have excellent range and a disjoint, if you always focus on spacing with the tipper of this move, despite it's startup/end lag it will be harder for opponents to gap close you and punish.

The important thing about her is spacing and reading. Without those skills developed, playing her becomes challenging, which is why the better you are the more rewarding and annoying to deal with she becomes.

She's not meant to be a very quick and oppressive fighter up close due to the range and strength (I use tipper) behind her moves.

Also in a shield environment. Up attack and nair out of shield are very good options that start your offense simply off of you blocking an opponents attack

Takes practice to really get food at this and consistent, once you do though it's extremely rewarding.

Typically you want to play with your opponent being right outside the range of tipper jab or Sair. This is what I like to think of as the "threat zone" at a lower level players won't really respect this, but as your begin to fight people that are better than better they'll start to identify this range and when they enter it they may preemptively choose a defensive option because they think you will swing or they will be aggressive and try to land on top of you seeing as horizontally approaching is riskier. This is where anti-airing with up tilt is so crucial. It's super good when your are juggling opponents vertically that want to land, but anyone who tries to approach high in the air to land on you with a move, as long as you react, you can pop them vertically for a KO or to start your vertical offense.
