Jab jab up b is a kill confirm that kills everyone except IG at around 100%. Jab jab dair nair works at low percents if jab is not decayed. After the nair, you can either loop back into more jab pressure if they DI away (most common) or follow up with utilt uair/up b if they DI in

Landing a raw dair or nair can also lead to combos with similar routes

For edgeguards/large campers, sandwich throw down confirms into sair at mid percents for early kills

But against characters like Jason or Iron Giant without bolts, you can basically just mash on them and win

I've been playing 2s a lot with a friend recently and Shaggy's side b is definitely a slightly bigger nuisance and I could see how newer players could struggle with it

Keeping track of his kick and the other enemy at the same time is a bit tough, but spamming it is still essentially a death wish against anyone decent

Shaggy’s approach is fairly linear. He’s either going to approach with an aerial or approach with jab for the most part. He also has stubby range, so if you play a character with disjoints or projectiles, you can zone him out

There is a way to do attacks while holding sandwich: dodge diagonally up and forward cancel into an attack

Sword characters (not Arya) work well into him. Finn is hard to approach horizontally.

Good Shaggies will try to go for that jab combo but he's super, super stubby. So he has to get in real close to combo you.

Shaggies in higher tier are now using their dash attacks which has good startup and a small window of endlag. Try to bait that out and go for a punish

I get the same results trying to DI as I do just eating the combos

Nah man DI has a pretty strong effect depending on the move, shaggy up tilt can be DIed so hard it goes from a busted kill confirm at 30% to a still strong but not that egregious kill move

If it’s anything like smash brothers, any move that doesn’t produce the smoke effect can’t be DIed so maybe certain combos tend to lean more into that

Also, for a lot of characters you don’t even need to do the instant air dodge, doing jump fast fall nair quick enough will catch a lot of the cast

I think the sandwich is alright, but even if it wasn’t, if the point of hangry man is letting you split up the charge time to do it more safely by letting you grab the sandwich and then later charge quickly, that whole idea is ruined by the fact that you are locked out of your normals while holding it. Whenever I see people use that perk they just grab the sandwich and immediately charge rage, which defeats the purpose in my eyes

The sandwich gives you 2 options, you can throw it and then quickly close distance instead of rage or charge rage and chances are they cant stop you

hmm, I can see that, Especially more worth it if you're weaving in a few sandwich throws during the game. Not a lot of Shaggies I see utilize his projectiles

I feel like last zoinks can definitely turn around a match though if you're getting beat. Being rewarded for losing is a handy skill to have.

In higher gameplay though Zypten's probably right and people will be looking to KO you beforehand or expect the last zoinks reversal

there's no way you're punishing the safe pull, anyway, and rocket tends to trade or just hit you

Sometimes I can full charge knee and break the safe if I can get to it fast enough but if I’m not quick enough I’ll just get hit by it for trying

I just avoid safe entirely.
Most bugs will just try to push it in your direction no matter how far you are. So you can just jump over

A good bugs will camp around it and wait. But if he's being a tool you can just destroy it at a distance with your sandwiches lol

Some bugs will go for 1 hop then deploy their safe.

If you're close enough you can just dash attack into them, your dash comes out faster than his animation for safe

and dash attack weirdly hits way above shaggy

I jump over/dodge under the rocket as Joker and when the safe is on the ground I usually go on the walls to avoid it so Bugs either doesn't hit it and goes for me or loses it, or neither who knows

It should work the same with shaggy

I play Joker like I'd play Shaggy (mashing dair)
