most of his combo routes have been completely removed. Now it's all reading air dodges for an extra hit or ball throw. The only consistent stuf I can get is off of jab (jab 1 ->dair/nair) and then reading drift from there.

The whole reason they added parry and slowed things down was to make every decision more intentional with how you air dodged and what you throw out. Lebron is a fundamentally different character now.

He’s definitely worse than the beta. I imagine most characters feel worse though so it’s not exclusive to him

Yeah I think they changed what he is fundamentally. Before he was a combo monster with a projectile and kill power, but bad frame data on most of his moves. Now he's just a projectile setup character who pokes for small damage all over the place until they're at kill percent for jab.

ball nair is a lot better though and can set up for an air dodge read. You can even land with it since it beats armor for most moves

his neutral charged attack also kills really early. Since moves are more committal now you can use it a little more than before but its still unsafe

right now he really struggles against anyone who can remove the ball like steven universe. Without the ball lebron is hampered quite a bit, which is why they buffed his cooldown on ball

For 1s I would always say keep possension, but honestly that new Well Rounded on is actually pretty good

I have been messing with well rounded, press the advantage for applying weakened, last stand for even more weakened, then pugilist for more damage

you only need to get most people to about 130% before jab kills with this setup

if lebron can stay above 100 damage, he can rack on weakened pretty well

The other build I was trying was keep possesion, thats flammable, last stand, and static electricity

I use the 'For Three' perk because it's the easiest to use imo and it seems to be the most reliable

So I found that LeBron's side special is pretty much useless. But it becomes his best move imo if you do the warp version of it (alley oop) because it gives you armour

So you need a decent teammate to reliably give you armoured side specials

I do have a decent teammate, so I usually use hot hand to make the warp version even stronger

I don't really like 'For Three' as I feel like the damage and knock back that it does isn't worth losing your ball.

There are plenty of LeBron combos but I don't know if they are all worth learning. Because knockback in platform fighters makes combos unreliable at higher damage percentages

the bnb combo I use is jab 1 -> short hop ball dair -> nair

works at most percentages, but at high percentages you cant get the nair at the end, so you have to double jump and guess the DI to follow up with an up air

you can also combo no ball nair into that setup as well

I don't know if it's a true combo but it seems to be working so far

Kind of. It needs to be a downward ball throw so they do a ground bounce and you need to dash jump after them with dair. If you get that, you can combo into nair but that's about it right now

lebron seems very good in 2v2, but a lot worse in 1v1. his melees are still tiny so he cant string much. many characters can spam projectiles more so his balls get destroyed easily. He pretty much has no good kill confirms, because his dunk is probably his worst move. Compared to the beta his dunk has a pretty small slam, no euper armour, which could be fine except it doesnt even have an active hitbox so trying to dunk is pretty much just like freefalling in the air. most characters have huge upairs as well making him easy to hit why trying to dunk

i swear lebrons dunk is just a worse version of garnets dair, coz at least she can release early to hit them down rather than slamming

You gotta realise that Arya is a very vertical character. That’s how she beats you

So stick to the ground. Always.

Don’t even try and contest her in the air if you are above her. You will likely lose

If she is above you, then you can fish for an up air to kill her. Otherwise, you need to stay on the ground

• neutral attack gives you armour
• down air special is good for hitting enemies below you while keeping yourself relatively safe

That's the basics imo. But I'm still fairly new to this genre/character so I'm still learning

No teammate or mosh pit to get your ball back if you don't have cool down back

So melee is the best that can be done

Seems like that hit because he ran out of meter. I think jab 1 > dair > airwalker jab 2 loop would be more true, and you can jump out of jab 1 instead of dash using meter ( still a sick clip)

My game plan is usually to zone with no look passes, if they try to approach over the ball, I try to meet them in the air with a nb nair. Go for dair/nair/up air combos if they are aggressive. Go for jab 2 > airwalker at high percent
