He really decreased in WR. It seems that most Gizmos were just running across the stage not engaging and just shooting arrow, using car, spamming umbrella, hiding behind popcorn.

PFG wanted to snuff out that kind of gameplay

Its also why the made movement slower, so melee could catch up to zoners. It was a struggle in beta when zoners could just dodge everything and throw out haphazard projectiles.

Final update on what I’ve decided to name “The Grounded Gizmo Glitch”: Just a few minutes ago, I was playing a match against a Stripe player. All was normal until I spawned in Gizmo’s toy car. Then, I believe I was hit out of the car when Stripe used his gun attack. I happened to be targeted, so it hit me out of the car. Once that happened, I could no longer jump or dodge. That’s why it happens so frequently with moves like Batman’s Bat-bomb or Black Adam’s side special. It hits Gizmo out of the car before it hits the car. This makes the game think that Gizmo is still inside of the car. If you notice, while exiting the car, Gizmo falls for a very brief period before jumping out of the car. Keep in mind, that only occurs when the car is on the ground, not in the air, as the car jumps with Gizmo. In a way, I think that the game thinks Gizmo is still inside of the car and therefore can’t jump or dodge because it hasn’t registered that he’s out of the car. It still registers that he’s on the ground, therefore all attacks and special attacks still work, as well as walking/running. I’m not entirely sure if entering another toy car or latching on to an ally fixes the bug, but I do believe that if you enter another car it still doesn’t change at all, and you can’t exit this car whatsoever. If you happen to be a Gizmo main who bothered to read this entire paragraph, please do yourself a favor and either refrain from using the toy car against specific projectile heavy characters, or just avoid using Gizmo altogether until the glitch is fixed. Best of luck to all of you, especially those such as myself who are Gizmo mains and have experienced this first hand. (I posted this in #bug-reporting , I just thought I’d repost here so you all know the current issue.)

Make popcorn do the damage/knockback it did in the beta, revert car nerfs, gut his melee/normals. Gizmo is a widdle baby and should not be killing you by punching you. He feels less like a zoner/trapper now and more like a better rushdown assassin than Stripe (and also a more boring one).

His setups were so fun in the beta and most of that substance is gone now, just a mindless ladder combo machine. Does not feel like the character at all. Car is practically non-existent for how little health it has and popcorn’s not the definitive move it used to be.

But it means he’s top tier rather than middle/low like in the beta, so pick your poison I guess.

I wasn’t happy to drop him, but I loved him for his popcorn and car setups, not because I wanted to up air four times.

And these are devs that buff Wonder Woman and gut Lebron, so I don’t expect them to know how to make Gizmo fun again.

Gizmo problems that have been there since the beta:
-I don't think a single gizmo has ever procced "rhythm's gonna getcha" in the history of this game. Even with just 8 stacks instead of 12 it's way too much. The opportunity cost of not using the other 2 perks is already enough, it doesn't need an extra cost on top of that.
-The way upB prioritizes targets between allies, enemies, and the car, is completely outside of our control and feels practically random as a gizmo main. It's sort of fine in 1v1, but in 2v2, I often proc backpack on purpose then leave immediately just because that has the highest priority, and I want to be able to target my car instead. There's also no reason to bounce off of a popcorn ever.
-Grounded down B is too slow to actually be useful in a real match.
-Gizmo's triple jab combo just doesn't work. People can DI out of it. And in this game, jabs are extremely important.
-Gizmo lacks killpower, which is fine, but due to his low mobility, he can't actually reach the top/edges of the screen so he can compensate for that low killpower by placing hitboxes near the blastzone. This doesn't really leave much space for player expression imo - you're kind of just stuck with high % on-stage kills, even if you're much better than your opponent.

New Gizmo problems since the beta:
-Backpack has become completely useless since you removed knockback on down tilt, and made it possible for allies to absorb its notes
-teammates can now absorb "angry" notes, resulting in a lot of anti-synergies.
-Controlling the direction the car goes after you leave it during overcharge is basically impossible since the timer is so short. I understand why the timer had to be shortened, but in that case, please give us more control over where the car goes.
-air down B has gone from one of the coolest moves in the game to practically useless. The new launch angle doesn't kill nor combo (if they DI out, they go too far for a combo), and it feels much slower and clunkier somehow.

Another example is Steven’s puddie dude he pulls out. Sure it’s easy to kill him, but it’s another thing to focus on and he shouldn’t be allowed on the stage forever until killed. He should have a limit like Gizmo’s car.
