how to introduce Rick (and potentially Morty).
Rick is working in his garage. Morty comes in and asks what he is doing. Rick, in rick fasion, slanders him calling him all sorts of names, explaining that x months ago (time when hes released after game launches) he got readings about a strange energy surge across the multiverse. It seems it targeted different unique individuals across the multiverse and brought them to a pocket dimension out of time. He explains he has developed a solution that when added to his portal gun, shall take him there. Morty claims that he is jealous that he wasn't selected which Rick denies and claims he is going there for scientific research purposes. He shoots out the portal after adding the liquid, and after a brief yellow glow effect (same from the trailer when characters appear) the portal returns green. Rick enters the portal (and Morty too if he is added) and it cuts to him entering the world where he sees superman ready to fight. He scoffs as he preps his portal gun or some other technological device and smirks.

Oh for sure, but his appearance in this game means something different for me since he's more of the B:TAS Batman, which is one of my favorites. Again, I'm wanting specifically characters like Alfred, Mr. Freeze, and Scarecrow (iirc Scarecrow was in one of the Injustice games but I never played those myself).
I also want to mention that Ryu is in a decent amount of fighting games despite being the main Street Fighter guy, so it doesn't really matter if a character already has enough representation.

just because you see an IP present in other WB content or shows does not mean WB owns it. TMNT used to be owned by Fox back in the day but in the 90s (iirc?) Paramount bought it, meaning that WB prolly had to buy the rights to use TMNT for the movie.

But my point stands. Just because it aired on CN or AS doesnt mean WB owns it. Dragon ball, One piece, death note, TMNT, Sonic, Mega man, nintendo, marvel heros, etc. Of course, WB Games can always buy those IPs' rights for usage in this game but we'll have to wait and see if they choose to.
