The question has come up before, I remember seeing stuff about The Ducks and Car being a part of his moveset, and how he'd be more of a grappler (I don't remember the specifics) since he doesn't use Firearms too often in the show. Tony Soprano is from an HBO show that did make a huge impact in the grand scheme of things, so the significance of the character shouldn't really be in doubt. It's also not like The Sopranos isn't relevant, since Many Saints of Newark (which was a prequel movie) came out recently.

@urban radish I think either or both would fit in really well in terms of gameplay elements. Inception has an ever-changing dreamscape that makes platforming a lot harder for players. While the Protagonist of Tenet however does hold the advantage combat-wise. Not only can he invert things of his will, but he does have a vast arsenal of firearms and explosives to choose from.

Well Nightwing is just a bigger brand then Robin, having Dick be Robin here doesn't make too much sense from a financial standpoint. Nightwing ranked pretty high in an official popularity poll, so I think Dick might get a Robin skin but that would be about it, hed be Nightwing here. Jarro is probably the best pick for Robin: recent character, interesting noveset potential and is a beloved character by the DC Fans that know he exists, although I can see someone else like Tim or Damian being Robin here due to their large animation presence.

What about Buddy The Elf? Tis the season yet again after all. But as for what he could offer, he does have a plethora of snowballs to fire off on. I would say Ed, for a few reasons: he's the tallest and strongest, most generally suited to fighting; he's so stupid that he frequently defies the laws of physics, something the whole show is kinda famous for playing with; and due to being memetically funny, he's had a longer lifespan online than he had on the network (and memes DO matter).
I'd also say, thinking even further outside the box, that side characters like Rolf or Jonny and Plank are similar levels of memetically iconic and have as much if not more moveset potential. But just of the 3 Ed-boys, I'd say Ed would be the right pick.

Earth has been nuked all over,, to the point of being inhospitable, so mankind had to escape in a series of ships which all connected to from a colony called.the Arc.

Octavia has a lot of built in anger, for having to live in a space station "illegallly" because she was born a 2nd child, when 2nd childs were forbidden, due to a lack of resources.

When they find out about her, she, along with other teens and children who committed very minor charges, were sent to Earth as guinea pigs, Octavia was the first to become detached from the group.

The group encounters a group of humans that were somehow not affected by radiation, called the Grounders.
These Grounders are fierce warriors, assassins, and Masters of stealth.

Octavia falls in love with one, and soon starts being trained by him.
She soon considers herself a Grounder as well.

And without making this much longer, Octavia becomes a fierce warrior and stealthy assassin herself, and quite possibly, the strongest character in the show.

Her weapon of choice is swords, but she can also wield axes, spears, maces, and daggers. Hand to hand combat is also something she excels at.

This may not be a WB rep per say, but what about bringing in some reps from Netflix's Castlevania? I mean there are DVDs with their logo on it.

In all seriousness, Trevor, Sypha and Alucard should be taken into consideration. Trevor is a well known huntsman that can slay any demon he comes into contact with. His whip, the Vampire Killer could give him just the range he needs to secure a victory. And he's created some kind of shuriken/boomerang with 4 daggers attached.

Sypha fits perfectly as a mage. She can bend the elements to her will. She'll be able to launch fireballs, create ice barriers and conjure glass steps beneath her. She's that versatile.

And Alucard, he proves to be an excellent swordsman as well as a trickster in a sense. He can hold his ground really well in close quarters combat, shapeshift into a wolf to give him a slight speed boost, and dodge oncoming attacks using a red flash of light.

All of them may be a bit bizarre I know, considering they originated from Konami, but it would be a crime to pass up that show in particular.

In honor of the Holidays, The Snow and Heat Misers should team up for this game. They share a similar playstyle to Pyra and Mythra from Xenoblade. How exactly? They can tag in and out freely.

Both misers have no shortage of power to incorporate from. And some of their powers can leave some lingering effects down the line.

Snow Miser may not deal as much damage in his attacks, he is able to freeze opponents for a brief moment.

Heat Miser however can dish out more damage. He can slightly burn up opponents. If he lands a more powerful blow, a part of the opponents' body will burn slightly. Either adding damage or depleting your health. But all of this is for a brief moment.

When writing the Roman numerals for the copyright date on the special, Rankin/Bass mistakenly copyrighted the special to many many years prior to its creation, and it was ruled in court that that meant every feature of the special was in the public domain at the time of its creation.

I mean Rankin Bass' take on Santa Claus, not the other versions. Trying to have Santa as a fighter would be difficult. There have been countless takes on him, so it would be easy to mistake one version of him for this game.

Copyright's a bit complicated. So it's better to be mindful of which version to keep in mind.

Not quite/not necessarily. Santa is definitely public domain, and the version of him as he appears in Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer is specifically as well, as are other characters from that film such as the Bom-bom, and Yukon Cornelius. However, one note to make here (that I've learned in researching my response) is that the character of Rudolph does not originate from that special but from a book by Robert May in 1939 and is not, in fact, public domain, he is owned by The Rudolph Company, LC, and will enter the public domain in 2034. And even then, the music, including the song bearing Rudolph's name and the songs from the special, are also copyrighted at later dates than that.
Frosty the Snowman did not have that typographical error, and the original song the special is based on is from 1950, meaning it's well within current copyright law as well. The ownership of those two characters is with the companies holding onto the ownership from the original creators, while the rest of the characters from Rankin/Bass' holiday specials are divided between two companies - the pre-1974 library including "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town" and "Here Comes Peter Cottontail" are owned by NBCUniversal, while the post-1974 library including "The Year Without a Santa Claus" and "Nestor the Long Eared Christmas Donkey" is owned by Warner Bros.

In the same way that Smash negotiates with Sega to get the license to use Sonic, Rankin/Bass presumably had to negotiate with the then-owners of Rudolph in order to use the song and the character in their film(s).
Which, like, to be clear: probably isn't that hard to do again. Rudolph has been merchandised to hell and back, the company exists basically solely to profit off of the IP. Being in a game like MultiVersus IS still technically possible.
But he'd be a guest character, not a first-party WB owned fighter.

Or what about Total Drama for that instance? The show was created by Teletoon. Cartoon Network only gained the broadcasting rights to show it off in the U.S., not acquire it for their own.

Even series with a much stronger relationship to WB, like say, Sesame Street or Lego, or even Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter and Game of Thrones, would be considered licensed properties, that WB is only licensing the film and game rights to, rather than owning completely.

Like, you're right that it's not an end-all be-all definitive decider, but it IS useful data, and I'd pay more attention to that than to the vocal minority of people who spam certain names in here ten times a day. No, no he definitely is not, since at least 4 other characters CONSISTENTLY out-perform him on polls.

Ok so I know that everyone and there mother, has probably suggested this at this point, but ben tension and I think I have a pretty good idea on how he could potentially work, and it plays a bit off of Kuro's idea, and it basically works the exact same way, different inputs turn ben into different aliens, and, like Kuro's, this idea plays entirely off of the game engine and how it works. So a different combos, turn you into different aliens, but I bet now your saying "but dagger that straight up Kuro's idea" but then I'll say let me finish my damn sentence (disclaimer, this is a joke, I mean no disrespect) but let's say, you do a Melee move as rath and then go into a ranged attack, you'll turn into another alien, for example, you'd go from Wrath, to Chromeastone, and if after a few of feedbacks ranged attacks and you go into Melee before returning to the ideal state, you'd turn into ether swampfire or wildvine and you hit the opponent away you can then use a vine to pull them closer to you again and go into a Melee combat, also the dodge, if there's a dodge, you could turn into big chill and the opponent goes through you, with, you'd get one more jump before turning into the flying alien, and the aliens could have slightly different stats, like Wrath could be heavier than base ben, and big chill could be lighter than base ben, and also if there's a dash, if dashing as big chill it could cause very slight damage to whoever he's dashing through, and when the dash stops, ben could turn into one of his speedster aliens

After explaining your case for him, it would be weird to leave someone like him off the table. There are some traits that give him the advantage of being a capable fighter.

People ask if you should fight or fly. Well, Rudolph can do both. Although there may not be a lot of notable attacks to choose from, his flying skills can give him an edge in battle. Which is perfect for getting out of a tight spot. And his nose can even stun anyone who sees his light.

And that might also raise a second rep to join him. Someone like Yukon Cornelius for that instance. He's the North's most notorious prospector out there. He does carry various tools to help give him the range he needs to win.

Like his trusted pickaxe, his whip or even send out some of his dogs to sic his opponents if need be.

Does anyone remember Tim Burton's Corpse Bride? How would that series fit in here? Two possible players would be Emily and Victor. As cowardly as he is, should Victor be the Marth of Multiversus?

The climax showed off a bit of his swordsmanship. While not exactly perfect, he is able to hold his ground. But he did fight with a fork, so that's a bit of a strange weapon.

And Emily has the powers of the deceased at her side. For dodging attacks, she can shapeshift into a wave of butterflies or detach her arm to grab opponents with.

A method of healing would be the Wine of Ages. To the living, it can kill someone instantly, but how would the dead react to this drink? Might it have the same effect? That I don't know.

So before anyone moves on with requesting other fighters, I at least want to clear up some information on these two. Like some of the other suggested fighters, there's still countless characters that should be considered for the long run.

Corpse Bride is a tricky IP. The fighters may be odd, but a stage should be easy to work around. The lands of the living and deceased could work as a potential stage.

The world of the living feels more dead than it's rival, while the dead's bustling with more life than it can count on. I'm not sure honestly.

Captain Claw is the pirate cat protagonist of the 2D platformer game called "Claw" made by Monolith Productions in 1997 (they are owned by Warner Bros now). It's a game that would deserve a lot more recognition. The character's sprites and animations look beautiful even today and fit with the art style of MultiVersus, in my opinion. He was voiced by Stephan Weyte (he is well known for voicing Caleb from Blood as well).
