Aight I'm loving this game, but Taz is so overpowered with that tornado. That's the only real problem I have outside of the connection not being quite right most of the time resulting in taking hits where I thought I'd be the one hitting them.

Nah the input buffer in the settings should be set to 0 but it was set to recommended by default. It f**ks up the entire feel of the game (delay).

The game is really good and very fun but for some attacks it doesnt feel right? Like the fact that if i even tap any directional button it throws the whole basic combo to waste, why not do the combo to the sides or have aerial and down combos too? It feels sluggish with that and makes it really dificult against some characters that can attack really fast, i find myself often getting hit THROUGH atempting to do an attack only to get smacked in the face and get smacked around like a ball

ALSO there has to be a better way to get out of team combo by making the dodge better or smthin idk it feels very lackluster

Also also, for some reason i some times just cannot grab on to a wall or jump off of it even if im nearly at the top or half way on it, i just slide down, AND theres also the issue that ive seen mentioned here alot which i do agree on, the fast fall needs work, it has killed more than it has helped

Velma’s “My Glasses” move should be reworked this way:

Passive - Taking too much damage causes Velma to have her glasses fly off her face, knocking back enemies. Her movement controls are the opposite and can be launched further without her glasses.

Active - Allies can pick up her glasses and throw them to her for her to be reoriented and back to normal movement and less launching power.

My opinion of progression system

Unlocking characters:The coins should be easiest to collect,if the game will have more characters its should take less time on getting one.

Battle pass and missions:I consider than some dailys are way especific and boring,besides that,i consider that system maintains a good balance

i was excited to play taz, but was disappointed.

1: his neutral ground and neutral air attack is unreliable at best. i feel as though it should get launched further like a projectile on the ground, and the air version should be reworked as i found myself only using either of those moves by accident.

2: his tornado should longer, easier to maneuver and have a larger hitbox. all the counterplay someone needs against a taz-nado is to just hit him out of it; and for a decently fast moving tornado it seems to move really slow and clunkily.

3: his neutral special attack is just simply a jake neutral special but impossible to land as it pauses your momentum too much, though that could be said about a lot of other moves in his kit.

4: he has no good combos unless you cancel his tornado into an ariel that isnt neutral air.

also just a side note a lot of his animations felt a little choppy at times.

and this is just a sort of nit pick about most of the roster's moves, maybe you should let them keep a little bit more momentum when using certain ariels. batman's forward air is a good example of what that should look like. it would make things a lot smoother and easier to land.

The game is really fun so far a few lag spikes here and there on pc I do find that perks can be a lil broken but I like the feature and as for Taz he can be quite frustrating to play against when it comes to his tornado ability as it's invincible for a few frames and a lil hard to punish still a good character though

I think the recommended and Expert tags are pointless on shaggy and arya, just feels unneccesary to the characters. Its like if in smash bros mario was labeled "beginner" for no reason. experimental makes sense on taz since he's gonna need to be rebalanced later on, but as it stands shaggy is no more "recommended" than super man or finn.

I'm having some FPS drop during the games. I go down to 15 to 22 fps for an half second or more and it goes back to normal. I had to put everything low even tho I got a pretty good computer. it feels really weird.

How's everyone's performance? My menu performance is pretty spotty. Lots of stutters and freezing up while clicking things.

You can swap neutral and side moves, but it's a global thing that you change in the settings, meaning it applies to every character. You can change it only for ground, or only for air, or both.
The problem comes when it doesn't really apply to everyone. For example, Harley's air neutral attack is a chargeable hammer, but her air side attack is the combo. Then you change to, say, Bugs, who has a quick spin for neutral air attack, and air side is a chargeable kick. One setting doesn't work for both characters

I tried the alpha of multiversus, the game is very fun and not too demanding, the games are very hectic and fast and not too frustrating, and it is possible to replay again with the same opponents at the end of a mathc if they accept the rematch until to a maximum of 3 times, it is possible to complete the daily missions and the "battle pass" (yes there is a battle pass in Multiversus) without too much effort, the progression is rather fast, each character can level up to 15 for the moment is not certain that they can increase the level cap of the characters, apart from some "improvements" that are the fate of "perck" that go to increase the buffs in the character himself and the team (if you play in 2v2 mode) there they are mostly cosmetic rewards like, profile portraits, banners, emoticons, off-screen animations and much more, regarding the controls I played with an Xbox One / Series X-S controller and I enjoyed the controls s they are excellent even if there is the possibility to customize them as you want, regarding the graphics and the frame rate I must admit that the game is very fluid and pleasant, I did not find lag or disconnection problems while playing.

The only criticism I make is that the announcer voices would be nice to have unlocked at least at the 4th level of a character rather than at the 13th, possibility to choose the arena in public by voting.

Game feels and plays pretty good so far, but one thing my friend pointed out that's been bothering me is that there doesn't seem to be any hitlag on the attacker's part. It feels like we're not really hitting anybody. We're like we're swinging at air and they just happen to be getting hit if that makes sense.

Hey developers, just wanted to highlight my biggest issue with the game: The lack of an option to bind buttons to "right stick" for keyboard players.

Keyboard players from games other than brawlhalla feel at home with a right stick, and so it feels bad to not have one here.

Some things I've noticed based on training mode:

  1. You know those options that allow you to swap grounded side + neutral attack / swap air side and neutral attack globally in your controls? I'd like them to be accessible on a per-character basis. For example, some characters like Tom feel more natural when Air Side and Neutral Attack are swapped, but Shaggy doesn't benefit since his aerial side attack is more like a side attack than a neutral attack, if that makes any sense. Having these options available on a per-character basis would be very helpful!

  2. I assume due to this game not having a Shield, quickly flicking to the left / right to dodge feels inconsistent. I should mention that I'm using a buffer value of 4 but just something to keep in mind.

  3. I'd like being able to bind at least 3 buttons to an input (X, Y and R2 to jump) instead of just 2 max.

  4. Slowly initiating a walk has this very strange stutter you get before the joystick to it's max position.

I'm trying to play in a free for all with just 3 players and I'm locked out of it because we need more players? The reverse happens when doing a 1v1 with extra players. Is there any way you at least implement a 3 man free for all as well as Spectating Custom Game Lobbies?

So after playing a few matches, I'm conflicted about this game. On one hand, I love that there's a WB platform fighter, but on the other hand, I'm not sure how much I really enjoy this game in comparison to other platform fighters. I think the team mechanic is an interesting idea, but that makes certain characters like Velma borderline useless in 1-on-1 situations. Plus, there's the whole thing with how smash attacks are charged versions of tilts instead of their own separate moves.

Remove Attack Decay. It is boring and means that whatever unique playstyle/combo you develop must be changed to some generic playstyle.
Doing multiple side arials in a row? Attack Decay.
Using Taz funny spin move more than twice? Attack Decay.
I feel like there is a reason it doesn't exist in most games.
It makes the game less fun.

First off, I’m on PS4. The game works better than most arena fighters. I like the uniqueness to characters, tho for most of the cast it kinda feels like they have the moves that work, and the moves you’re forced to use when on cool down. It looks more responsive than the gameplay with Nakat, but still feels kinda silly in some places with attacks either missing or a delayed knock back. Also, some matches perform incredibly smooth, but the ones that don’t just feels like another game all together. Also, I don’t think perks should be available to buy. I get it’s a free service game, but I feel like that will really kill the player base when they see it as free to play but Pay to win. The battle pass screen is kind of a pain, as at least on PS4 there’s a lag when you try to look through it. The game modes are fun, it seems to auto file me more into team battles even with other modes selected but that’s not necessarily a bad thing, just an observation. I wish I could select recent players over different platforms, as I would love to add people I’ve played with well. Not too many glitches otherwise

A lot of the characters' movesets are pretty complex, and it's hard to tell exactly how their effects stack and can combo together. It'd be cool to have tutorials for individual characters.

I think dogpile should be reworked into a more interesting move. As of now it feels like it just serves the same function as tornado where you move around until you multi-hit an opponent and launch them away.

A couple things that I think would improve the game would be first to add subtle sound effects to when you land and double jump since with how floaty the game is it can be hard to tell if you landed or are still an inch above the ground

Another thing I would like to see is an optional ability to make it so that moves dont stall in the air because it feels pretty awkward, i would gladly give up one of my abilities for this

Sometimes it’s a bit hard to get side special/side neutrals to work if you’re doing button+direction, it mostly just wants to do the neutral move. It’s fine with up and down moves though.

I think Bugs Bunny's charm hitbox needs to get tuned down. Won't even be near it and gets charmed anyways. Also the fact that its a guarantied like 4 second stun that you can't mash out of or anything just makes it spammable with no repercussions even with stale move system.

I have been very pleasantly surprised with what I've played so far. Something I was especially impressed with was the design of the fighters movesets. It seems like EVERY character has at least one, if not multiple emergent moves that are both fun and provide a lot of depth. I hope to see this continue with every character from this point forward

I really don't like being unable to tech on walls, floors, etc.
Not sure if I'm just not hitting it properly but it's one of my major gripes.

Another thing is that I'd really like it if Perks carried between characters? My friends were annoyed that they couldn't really try multiple characters without grinding in bot matches for two hours just to be able to have a winning chance against anyone with a full perk layout.

the game's base movement mechanics feel really stiff/janky, there's no real sense of momentum, with every movement related action seemingly resetting your velocity entirely or just going at a fixed speed from the start. I especially don't like how wavedashing feels less like an extension of your air-dodge velocity and more a random burst of speed when you hit the ground.

I cannot stress enough how similarly I feel. I actually really like how a lot of the new mechanics are implemented (for example I didn't think I'd like the floaty fastfalling but I've come to really like it), however the lack of any momentum makes this game feel clunky and unresponsive. I am in love with the character moveset designs and the new ideas on display, but fixing this velocity issue will only increase my enjoyment and my willing to experiment ten fold.

I think it would be great if they added lobby dialogues for when you are playing with a friend, those lines would have a chance to play instead of the normal lines. Let's say that I'm Batman and my friend plays Velma, here are two lines that I think would work:

Velma - I know we already met, but it's an honor standing next to the World's Greatest Detective.
Batman - And it's a pleasure to talk with a detective who is just as good.

Batman - Criminals are cowardly...
Velma - And superstitious too...

Fellow gamedev here, I've been playing Smash since 1999. I've played competitively in several games and played ranked in pretty much every platform fighter of note. I'm gonna say some stuff here that might sound a little harsh but it's all out of love and desire to see you guys improve.

Firstly, I think this game only really works 2v2. Fighting 1v1 feels like I'm hitting someone with a wet noodle. It feels awful to side smash someone at 150 and it just doesn't do anything. In addition, it feels kind of 'surprising' when an attack DOES kill due to lack of hard hit feedback (think red sparks in the latest Smash games.) I heavily recommend revisiting the visual design of hits. Additionally, you may want to just have a sort of speed mod (not literally increase game speed, but increase its snappiness) or rebalance certain characters for 1v1, or just have a higher knockback mod across the board.

Ultimately I think hard focusing on 2v2 is going to really hurt or even kill this game. Kind of like with how League has problems with toxicity with teammates, I think it's extremely likely you'll run into the same problems here. People do not blame themselves when their teammate is a better scapegoat. And the fighting game community (and practically everyone you're trying to attract with how this game's built) much prefer fighting 1v1 with 2v2 as a side event. I get a lot of work went into 2v2, but I'm warning you and I REALLY don't want to be right that focusing 2v2 is going to damage the much more important 1v1 experience that'll be critical for this game's long term interest and health. Remember: The FGC basically invented toxicity, and Smash community is known for being particularly bad. The only thing that ever reigns it in is that the beef is often personal, but when that 0 KO Superman prevents your rank up to Gold there's gonna be some real issues.

Additionally, the perks system is flawed in that you don't really get any perks from the get go meaning you're strongly discouraged from grinding out new characters. There may be a prevailing thought that "this will work itself out as the player base levels up" but this will actually get worse as the player base levels up, as new players will have to contend with a fully equipped level 12+ character smacking them around with just objectively better stats that'll turn them off, and make the new character launch experience miserable as veteran players trying out new characters also get the same experience and make any new character look bad. I HEAVILY recommend you reconsider how you are presenting perks to the player, and unlock several from the get-go including even a character specific perk. Another option would be to "seal off" perk slots when a lower level character doesn't have them unlocked. Anything beats the current system, honestly.

I also encourage you guys to reconsider what attacks are mapped to what. It often feels like what I expect a motion to do isn't exactly what I get. For example, a side special projectile like Bugs' pie is mapped to his down normal. The counter-argument may be "you'll eventually get used to it" but to that the question then needs to be "should you have to get used to it? or should it just make sense?" It sucks to remove/change animations but it's in the favor of your gamefeel to do so, especially with iconic chars that people will rush to first.

Finally, I really encourage you guys to revisit the music. It feels like there's too much focus on orchestral or "epic" feeling tracks but this is more of a zany brawler. I've been playing this game for all of today and I cannot name you any of the notes from the main menu theme. I haven't played Melee in years and can hum the whole thing. I haven't played Nicktoons Brawl since release and can still hear the victory theme. What is your core audio signature?

The game has promise, but alphas are the exact best time to fix this stuff and make these big changes. Best of luck!

I think Toast needs a description for what it does. It is also a bit confusing selecting perks when with friends. The perks at the top when selecting don't change until you lock in your perks. Since you have to reselect perks if you wish to change any of them, it is very easy to accidentally not select all 3 perks without realizing it.

okay so here's my feedback. the ui sucks. this is not a mobile game. just make the ui like smash or any other video game on the planet. it's hard too read and keep track of everything. second, offline play and local co-op would be VERY MUCH appreciated. third, the gameplay is WAAYY too floaty. even floatier than smash ultimate. i suggest to make it feel more like smash melee or brawl and to a lesser extent, nick all star brawl. just make the fighting more snapy and satisfying all around. last thing is the attack idea for what characters do feels kinda dull and soulless. like taz's special just look out of place aside from the whirlwind imo. as far as what i like, i like the character designs and models and certain aspects of how the game feels. still, hope for the best. if raven gets in, please let it be the og teen titans cartoon raven, don't censor her and add robin and starfire from the cartoon as well. thanks for listening to this feedback, godspeed. also, add jotaro and dio if you could please with japanese voices.

Attacks are very strange. I still have no clue how to make Bugs Bunny’s pie, and I’ve played several matches with him (it just kind of happens).

Also, there is very little actual info on what is going on in a match. The readability is pretty bad. Reindog (?) was shooting out all this stuff and I honestly could barely tell what was him and was some lights from the back ground.

Some of it, like the extremely weird weight of the characters, I will just get used to, but plenty of this is just unnecessarily obtuse.

This is my second review of the game and I come to terms that the combat system in this game needs to be tweaked. I hope it's better in the full release of the game. I swear every time I attack I'm just getting hit by the other player first no matter if it's a slow or fast character it seems like I can't get a hit off. I really love the attack delay as it is supposed to stop others from spamming the same moves. I think if they really were going for something like that I we should get a better combo system that Hold the left stick and tap X or Square. As I think the combo system should of been normal attacks X and Power attacks Y and Triangle as Specials could of been the bumpers. Basically, it's hard to execute combos imo. Other from that the game is fine and I wish I can enjoy it fully but for right now it looks like imma have to work with what I got.

My main feedback is gonna be on sound to be honest. I think how the sounds work atm is a little bit unoptimal, like pain cries being kind of random. Sometimes they play but not really WHEN the character gets hit, which is where all the satisfaction comes from in fgs. Just seems like character sounds aren't tied well enough to actions themselves. It could just be that they don't play that often, but it certainly feels too little to me in that case. I love hearing pain cries more than anything else. Sometimes death cries don't play too, and that should generally never happen./

  • Very little Hitstun:
    There is very little hitstun to do proper combos. The only real combos are jabs into up tilt or any other tilt or w.e.

  • Attacks are too weak:
    In 1v1s, everyone lives til like 120% characters cannot really kill consistently from even a pretty rewarding combo or hit.

If the concern is to not harm the balance of 2v2s fights, then maybe having a default perk (That's always active and cannot be changed) for 1v1s only which can increase everyone's knockback power by a certain percentage would fix this. i.e "1v1s Perk - Additional Knockback Power"

  • Slowness:
    Some attacks are extremely slow, in some cases, this is because they are powerful attacks but.. They don't even kill at like 120% !!! So what's the point?? 😦

Stages:

  • Legals
    In public matches for 1v1s, the stages with Hazards are impossible to avoid. Please have a legal stage list for when ranked comes out. other than that, the stages are great

UI:

  • Stamina:
    Keeping track of stamina for a platform fighter feels so unnecessary. In an adventure game, it makes sense, but not so much here. If the reason for this is to resolve i-frame abuse concerns, then just take away the i-frames from air dashes and that would resolve this problem.

  • Outlines:
    Please allow us to change the thickness of the outlines. They seems a bit too thick.
    Also can we please get a black and white outline color? I love black outlines 😄

Compared to previous tests the online stability feels much more off than before. Consistently getting major spikes where people are just standing around or I'm doing something and I die out of nowhere. Maybe its crossplay maybe something changed after the second test because nearing the end of the last test this also happened but nowhere near as frequently as it did today, but every couple of games people started teleporting and dying for seemingly no reason

I've been playing a bunch of Multiverses today and it is REALLY fun, and one of the best parts is the potential it has for blowing up. I very much hope this game achieves absolutely great success and can be expanded numerously. Maybe even a story mode. Lastly i definitely hope they consider doing cinematic reveal's for charters with voice acting and everything, and it can all ride of the premise that they are being teleported here, would really be a phenonamel experience in gaming history!

alrighty, here's my 2 cents on the game so far

The good stuff:
-Netcode feels buttery smooth and matchmaking is quick, honestly never played a platform fighter with both so big props to those who worked on this
-Stages and characters look gorgeous, readability isn't an issue most of the time.

Minor gripes:
-Combat feels very floaty and characters live for a loooong time, which makes the pace of most matches quite slow, especially in 1v1. I'm not against a slower paced platform fighter, but it does feel like a bit much as it is now.
-Tutorials don't cover debuff types or character specific traits as far as I can tell. I'd appreciate ROA or Skullgirls style character tutorials where you get a little showcase of all the unique mechanics and core moves a character has, but it's not a huge deal for me.

Things to improve:
-The stage list is pretty bare-bones and some of the more interesting stages (tree fort, batcave) have hazards or other things that make them less exciting to play on. I know that we're still in the development process, but I'd like to see a couple more classic, less chaotic stages or the option to turn stage hazards off.
-The perk system looks cool in theory, but in practice it currently leads to matches where people who have sunk a decent amount of time into the game get paired against newbies that have nothing. I'd like to see an option where you could queue up for matches with perks disabled, this would give a more level playing field for people who are just beginning as well as an option for people who just don't like the power-up system altogether.

I really really like this game. The focus on 2v2s adds to the chaos and I would even suggest a 4v4 mode if thats possible. Its just a whole lot of fun that I can just hop back on whenever I want.

I think the biggest issue with the game is the perk system. Experienced players will shred through newer players who dont know what to do. I dont suggest removing perks entirely as I think they add an extra layer that enhance the characters gameplay. I think making them unlocked from the beginning would help them try out different setups in matches. Thats my solution at least.

-UI in general should be a lot bigger/clearer. if info is set to the bottom/top of screen it's really small compared to everything else and makes it really hard to glance at if i want to see quick info like percents or cooldowns. having it at the default where the info is tied to the actual characters helps with this problem for me but i feel like the other setting could be made a lot better
-i wish there was a clearer visual indicator for dealt damage, with a game like super smash bros you can kind of get an idea of what a character's percent is with a quick glance without looking exactly at the number because of its gradienting system changing the color of the number as it gets higher. here it's just the number always white, with a subtle fire effect in the background when it hits 100. maybe could implement something like that and it'd help a lot with UI in that way too
-something about this game doesn't have that hit of "satisfaction" to me. it's hard to describe: "stop and go", "one-piece hits", "mashy" all kinda sorta describe it but not perfectly. from what i've been playing a lot with other players it seems like a lot of the game has just been getting one hit on each other over and over but not being able to follow up cleanly off of them a lot for combos. i think two things that would help here are a hitstun increase and making hitboxes in general a bit bigger, as it would help a lot with the leniency in combos (imo i also just feel like hitboxes in general have felt really small with this game and i have to be very precise when i throw out moves anywhere)
*addendum: this could also just be a result of mid-air movement being really fast and unique right now what with fast falling on hold down, airdodge/dashing, and a vague exact amount of jumps at any given moment making getting my character around to follow up unwieldy. idk, might be something that will take some tweaking to get right

The sound design in this game is SO good. Like SO good. I've heard some issues about sound balancing with Finn especially but like genuinely speaking, it's one of my favorite parts of this game. The soundtrack works super well, if you can get more cool renditions of these songs done or even just license more tracks from the source material it would add a lot to the experience. The ones already in the game are fire, loving "Come Along With Me" in the AT stage.

When it comes to 1v1s, time to kill is extremely high, and even full charged attacks don't kill on some characters until 150. I get that it was intended to be a 2v2 game, but the reality is that 1v1s will always take precedence in competitive fighting games. If it doesn't work 1v1, you can't expect someone to queue up with a random stranger for a 2v2 battle, where team coordination is essential. This happens a lot in other competitive multiplayer team games, and ultimately I think, leads to toxicity between players.

I'm not saying 2v2 is bad, in fact I really like that WB is trying something new here. The art direction and sound design are FANTASTIC. Movement feels smooth, though I haven't figured out how to wavedash yet lol

I think 1v1s, with or without perks, is the best way to show off such a dynamic roster and really let people experiment and master their characters.

A character difficult system can be nice to add. Seeing which charters are very easy to play to very difficult can make more beginner player easily adapt. Steven Universe and Wonder Woman have difficulty marks, why not the rest of the cast?

Superman is beyond broken. The fact that you can easily do multiple chain grabs with him to go from one side of the stage to another with little difficulty AND the fact that its essentially impossible to edgeguard him (due to him having another grab that can throw you down which you can't act out of in time) makes him super brainless.

I’m no pro player by any means, but I have played every single smash bros game that has ever came out, and sunk hundreds, if not thousands of hours into the series. So, what do I think of Multiversus?

It’s important to remember that there has never been a fighting game balanced around 2v2 team fights. It is a platform fighter similar to smash, but at the same time, there really isn’t anything to compare it to. You have to keep an open mind when giving feedback on it.

I see some people saying that hitboxes are too small, but smaller hitboxes might be better for team-based combat since it will be harder hit both enemies at once.

Perks really don’t seem that impactful to begin with. My problem with the perks is more that they are mostly the same for all characters, until you get to a higher level. Why do I need to separately level two characters if they both get the same five percent damage bonus?

The game does feel very floaty. There is no momentum or velocity, and most aerials essentially freeze you in midair. But despite this, I’m still having a lot of fun playing the game. I do feel like there is some work to do there, but remember that this game isn’t smash bros, and it shouldn’t feel the same.

There is simply not enough feedback given to the player about what is going on in the game. You should be able to tell how hurt someone is just by looking at them, and there should be some kind of feedback when a ability leaves cooldown or you try to use it while it is on cooldown.

I really dislike how every fighter has the same “health pool”. A ranged character like Velma and a tank like Superman should not take the same number of hits.

TL;DR No one has tried a team based fighting game before, so keep an open mind. Hitboxes are small and gameplay feels floaty, but don’t compare to smash too much. More feedback across the board. Ranged fighters and tanks should not take the same amount of damage to KO.

I don’t have the beta, but one thing that irks me while watching gameplay is how LATE everything kills. It’s constant seeing people live to the 150s… and at time it feels like a strong move doesn’t kill when it feels like it should. Maybe it’s just me but idk wish some stuff here killed a TAD bit earlier… it’s honestly why Taz is one of my fav characters to watch (even if his Tornado move honestly kills a bit TOO early…)

I think a potential solution to this is what Smash Ultimate does with 2v2s. In 1v1s, damage on the moves are increased compared to 2v2s… I think Multiversus could benefit from something like that to make both 2v2 and 1v1 fun. It’s not the absolute answer, and I feel like some moves should still be teeeked to kill earlier in general, but still it’s a starting point I feel

I have really loved what I’ve played, though I have my complaints. The main one: the Battle Pass progression, it feels tedious, weird to understand, incredibly slow, and you don’t feel rewarded of you time if you are grinding the battle pass and finished the character pass.

Aside from it, it has been really fun. Though I really want more map diversity, which I hope it is just because is an alpha, and there will be more on launch.

The gameplay is really fun, and while yet it can be compared to another fighting franchise, it has it’s own style and feel to it, it feels something similar yet different, and I love that. Also that I love that new characters can be unlocked through playing the game, not paying for the game. Unlocking characters should be free, cosmetics is up to you.

And just a suggestion: maybe a more social mode, I mean, like use the classic “smash” mode, but try and making it more social like some mini games or stuff like that.

But overall the game’s awesome, it has a lot ot potential and can use memes on it’s favor. It is really fun to play, and I can’t wait for all the new things launch will bring us up ahead.

I am not sure if it was just me or the game but there seemed to a lag when fighting, and it was difficult to create combos and get combos and kills off stage. For Tom and Jerry if you have the analog jump on up strong attack does not work. It will cancel out of its self.

I think my biggest request is for a button prompts toggle. I have an 8bitdo snes controller which windows thinks is an xbox controller, and so the game gave me xbox button prompts accordingly which was really confusing. If you could set it up to have other button names or even just generic names it'd be a nice quality of life change pksweePRIDE

my teammate was also commenting that he was struggling to fight off taz whether he was playing batman or harley. I had less trouble with velma and tom & jerry, but it's possible taz could be a bit overtuned?

Amazing game, most characters are well balanced with their mechanics being somewhat easy to learn, and the idea of the more you play a character the stronger you can make it really helps to give the idea to master the character you like to play as

The menus were easy to navigate and the game overall was an amazing experience

Some general suggestions on gameplay:

  1. Main issue I have with the game is knockback, as it feels as if characters can survive too much in terms of attacking, needing to be in the 120-150 range to deliver a KO. I recommend increasing the knockback of the characters overall, and adding a weight system to help make the system more dynamic and realistic (mainly as a character like Bugs or Arya being defeated at around the same time as Superman is strange).
  2. There should be an option where one can play in online matches without perks, as cases of me being forced to fight a fully-decked-out character when I'm trying one out happen too frequently. I don't think perks should be removed outright, but they shouldn't be as much as a focal point as they are.
  3. Along the same thought process, one should select their character after finding their opponent, so one can adjust the character they are playing as depending on what their foe/foes are using. That way, one-sided matchups can be avoided.
  4. If you ask me, remove attack decay. I get its purpose to guide against spamming, but it occurs too often when each character only has eight moves to use.

Game is great fun overall, but do feel there are some things in need of changing to help make the game more fun to play.

I'm hopeful the basic 3 platform and the training stage are going to be reskinned to proper stages before the full release. Maybe the flat stage could be the Animaniacs water tower playing on the scaffolding, or maybe a gem homeworld kind of thing with thin gem platforms for the 3 platform layout. I also think there should be more combat-centered music tracks. Honestly, I'm beyond impressed with the outcome of this game, I haven't had this much fun on a fighting game online in honestly ever. The rank leaderboards are awesome and makes me wanna grind and I can only hope ranked mode causes the same effect. I will say tho, I know 2v2's are gonna be pushed as the main mode, and I do think they are fun, but I actually really really really love the 1v1 Mode and I hope that its supported with tournaments and Ranked Mode.

Agreed, the perk system is confusing in how it affects the game to game, if there is comp I hope it is disabled. As well, from a game balancing perspective, balancing these perks with the game is going to be a major hassle.

As well, there already is some imbalance, like 5% extra damage or a triple jump, I’m taking the triple jump. As well if you need perks to make a character good that is just awful.

There are so many potential issues that honestly I don’t think what perks offer are worth to justify having them in the game at all.

So far I think the presentation is pretty top notch. I like how a lot of the voice casts from previous shows and movies are here. I do have quite a lot of issues with what I played. First off I think the game feels very floaty and not really grounded enough and the moves feel too spammy. I like the idea of multiple air dodges, but at the same time I do feel it can be excessive with the double jump. A lot of the character abilities feel kinda vague like the ACME box for Bugs or the chest for Finn. Maybe have some better UI for those so it's less confusing. And I hope the base roaster has more free characters than this because making classic characters like Batman or Superman purchasable with coins is kinda weird

Hit confirms should be better visualised. Alot of the time during I am unsure if my hits are actually landing or I'm whiffing, something as simple as a subtle client side screen shake/rumble would be a decent addition.

I agree with everyone else, the perks are unreasonable to add in the game and probably would become like older games where you have to grind/loot box for specific/meta perks, which may just turn off people. Better addition would probably just subtle stock variants of each character to add variety to each character's gameplay.

Enemy and teammate Taz sometimes disappears on PS4 version. Like you can still see the shadow and player name, but Taz himself vanishes. If I play as Taz, I can see my Taz the whole time. Also I had a thought that maybe Taz's side special could use a bit less control. Make it faster and harder to move maybe? Or charge it up and let it go? As it is it feels a little strange. Other than that, I do love the game so far. Keep up the awesome work!

  • the cursor while playing with a controller is a bit janky. Scrolling a long list is very slow, but trying to hit a precise checkbox can be hard since it jumps around a lot
    • maybe using both control sticks accelerates the cursor
    • maybe the checkboxes can also be toggled by hitting the outer word box, not just the tiny checkbox dialog
  • I wish I could see my moveset from the "PRACTICE" room, its where I have the most time to view and play with my moves
  • when playing a custom game, the "rematch" dialog is still present, but has no bearing on whether you stay/leave the custom game room
  • a "reuse the same player as my last match button would be nice, even just hitting "x" on the character select screen

Oh, I see now. Just checked Taz's move list and saw what "Tasty" does (as an example).
I feel tho the status (like Tasty and Freeze) could be explained in an Advanced Tutorial or a separate text somewhere. Otherwise you need to go to the Lab, and have to check the movelist for every character (as you don't have the option to cycle through all without having them picked, or at least I couldn't find it)
To know which is the Icon (for visual guidance), their effects, cooldown and how to recover "faster" (if it is possible depending on the status)

I have been primarily playing bugs primarily on day 1 of the beta. Bugs normal side attack should have a little better hitbox or increase the range just a little bit because he has to be really close to even connect the move. Characters like superman or batman for example who can punch from a somewhat further distance than Bugs, its harder for him to connect that normal attack. Bugs pie throw should just come out when input the command, some times i have to press the input twice because otherwise he will just hold the pie on his hip instead of throwing it. The slow debuff on the pie throw being 1 second is way too short. Once the debuff starts its immediately over. The acme rocket is a great move but really slow so it be nice to see the speed increased on it. The up special for the rocket takes wayyy too long to come back to the ground. I have had instances where the rocket just never came back down. It would be nice that if the rocket hit the ground there was an explosion to create some sort of AoE damage.

Bugs forward special needs works. While his signature perk makes it better, it would be nice if the attack move forward to give it some range. Bugs burrow attack feels like it doesnt do any damage and is really there to escape situations. If you do this move in the air, bugs is completely unsafe and it feels like he show be able to do damage or have some invulnerability on the way down

I get that bugs is a mage type character but his moves really dont do a ton of damage outside of the rocket. A little bit more damage and some better hit stun for his normal attack or just better priority for bugs is all he needs imo

Cancelling attacks with dodge should only work if the attack connects because theres a very common issue where it becomes hard to whiff punish certain moves because of their giant range in conjunction with dodge cancel removing the risk. This is probably why theres so many complaints about jake.

also plenty of people have said this but I'll say it again: air control is really floaty and strange.
fall/fastfall speed is sluggish, the jump arc is really choppy and messed up and rising during jump feels slow. double jump feels super stiff. on top of this air acceleration isn't the greatest.
Many rising attack moves, (shaggy up special, batman grounded up special) feel strange since you can fast fall during them and their motion is pretty linear.
I think the biggest issue is with aerials. They make you float for a while and you cant land with them until their lag is over. you can't do rising aerials, fast fall aerials to land early, and a lot of them completely halt you in mid air. It's my biggest complaint about the game, and i'm pretty sure a lot of people feel the same way.
I understand that what I've just listed would be a lot of work on the technical and balance end, since they deal with game fundementals, but I think reviewing these mechanics and adjusting them to be more similar to other platform fighters would be a net positive for the game.

So as feedback after playing the alpha just wanna say that perhaps the battles should have 3 lifes to make it longer or the game should give the option atleast... Other than that I have love it Tom and Jerry so far and Batman... More character from the batman family and villains will be nice and also I love Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner they should be as fighters and more from the looney tunes are incredible character that should be... Also some cartoon network characters like Dexter I will be very much glad to play them.

currently my thoughts on the game;
it's literally my top 3 games ive played ever genuinely, though there's still a bit of flaws it's fine

  1. kills feels a little difficult in any sort of game mode due to how high you have to be to die from any sort of attack (to my experience)
  2. the stuns feel a little awkward if you're trying to go for a kill confirm; for example, some kill confirms are actually so strict that it goes from a normal combo to a 3 frame link which is absolutely crazy

Every one with weapons seem to have more range then people who use fist like shaggy batman and superman. Superman at least has armor on his moves but people who have weapons on jump attacks like harley bugs, tom and jerry legit out range AND OUTDAMAGE them(Dont even get me started with Jake's Punch). Most people agree that the perk system is bad. I mostly agree, though I think there's potential in the character-specific perks if they weren't straight upgrades. For example, with Bugs his burrowing perk is a straight upgrade in that there is a shockwave when he leaves the burrow, while the heart perk is more balanced in that it's easier to hit with but doesn't charm as long. If all perks were just these kinds of perks, balanced in a way that level 1 characters aren't at an inherent disadvantage, it would probably be more enjoyable to both use and play against. There could even be perks that completely change moves rather than modify them. There's a lot of potential here, it's just the execution is pretty poor at the moment.

Could there be a clearer way to know how your own and adversary's network works? As a ping meter, the bars don't help much I have been winning a lot in 1 vs 1 and sometimes I feel like it's because of one side rollback I will do some tests with friends I play with cable of course and the performance of the game is fine any problem would be on the part of my internet provider is just that the game does not give me a clear indication of what is happening

this right here. i honestly think the game can keep some of the floatiness and it's unique fastfall mechanics, but air attacks halting you in mid air and the fact that there's no momentum whatsoever is something I really hope the dev team takes a look at. There is an opportunity here for Multiversus to have it's cake and eat it too. You can keep a lot of the floatiness of the game and still have it feel natural. I immediately think of Snake in PM. Dude is floaty as hell but he still feels natural in the hands of the player. Some notes that my boyfriend, my brother, and I have on the game:

  • Controls felt weird, wasn't instant response.
  • Character control also feels janky, and just feels off. (best way we could describe it)
  • Lag felt bad, and there was teleporting across the stage. Sometimes my character would vibrate in place before randomly dying.
  • Superman, Jake, and Harley feel like they need to be nerfed. Tom and Jerry feels like they need to be buffed, and rarely see them online.
  • Had some matches where I was a level one, and my opponent was a level fourteen. And those matches felt very unfair. This happened frequently, by the way.
  • Please add a queue where we can play with stage hazards off. The walls get annoying in our opinions.

Hello MV devs. I haven't played the game but I've watched alpha videos and streamers play it. I have some feedback as a viewer. Currently, I don't feel the game is very fun to watch? It's often hard to tell what's going on in a match. I think its an issue of poor keyframing and telegraphy in the characters' moves. Often a 2v2 match devolves into an incomprehensible mess like a cartoon fight cloud. I also feel the animations are rather slow, and they they lack speed and punchiness. For example, here Arya Stark just awkwardly glides forward, with her speed/velocity remaining consistent throughout the animation. I also have some feedback just for fun on one of the characters specifically. I think Taz should be a more unpredictable character who is hard to control. I have this idea that when he enters his Tornado move, he should zip quickly back and forth on the stage and be a little fast and difficult to keep control of. 3 points of feedback:

  • I think the audio settings don't affect the music & audio when the game starts up (or at least not as much). So like up until the point where you get to the point of the screen with the button 'enter the multiverse'. So I lowered my audio volume in-game, but at the start I still get my ears kinda blown out lol.
  • I find it a lil weird that you have to claim quest rewards manually. I think they should just be given to you automatically after a match (or best of 3), with a message that you got the rewards from a quest. Now I feel like it's just smth you might forget and then the quest expires
  • Have only played normal up until now, so idk if its the same for ranked, but in normal you can pick the same characters on 1 team. I feel like this makes the game a bit too messy, so I'd like it if you just wouldnt get matched up with someone who picked the first character in the first place, and then a character is locked for the other player, if one has picked them.
    Also dont really see why you need to pick a character and then match up and get in a team with someone else. I feel like getting in a match with someone else first, so you can then think a bit about team comp maybe, would be neat. Feel like its not that big of deal for me in low-level rn, but I feel like if you wanna practice a bit in normal on higher lvl it could get a lil annoying?

She’s supposed be a horizontal brawler but it’s actually pretty tough to get kills horizontally, also many of her moves are hard to get use out of because she has moves that are multi hit but a lot of the time the hits don’t combo into into the rest of the move properly. Also for her to to be a brawler it’s wild how many of her moves require her to be stationary, her grounded down attack only can hit grounded opponents which they usually aren’t and I have to be stationary and it’s super slow, grounded side attack requires me to be stationary and once I start the attack it takes a second before I have control of the character again so it’s all in with that attack and people often fall out of it so I don’t even get rewarded sometimes when I do hit. Her side special requires me to be stationary and can be hard to hit since the rockets she shoots are slow, her grounded up special requires me to stationary and then extra time to aim it and it’s slow In General. Garnet feels more like a zoning character then an in your face boxer like she’s supposed to be. Since a lot of her specials you need a good amount of space to get them out cause their slow and the game is so fast pace

I use either my PS4 or PS5 controller on my PC to play and it's jarring having the xbox controller icons displayed. Hey there, small UI suggestion. I think that team colors off and outlines on should be the default. Mainly because it's a bit of a bummer in 2v2 that you never see the default color of the skin you earned/purchased. And the outlines do more than enough work on differentiating teams. Halo Infinite does this to great effect so players can wear any color armor.

Agree on fastfall, the movement in general needs to make up its mind on weather it wants to be tight or loose this in between is very weird feeling even after playing for a day straight
Turning around mid air is fine and makes sense since there's no back air moves

Also the characters not being built for 1v1s isnt a valid complaint as this has been explicitly stated from the start even then most characters except reindog are fine on their own you just have to adjust your playstyle

I think perks are a great way to have interesting ways to play characters and incentivise playing different characters to unlock more perks and they aren't pay to win YET I think the way they're unlocked and used now is great but I am afraid of what will happen down the line

One thing I think would help everyone in terms of kill power is limiting the amount of directional influence you have in the air after getting hit at a high damage threshold. You could compare perks with things like runes in other games like LOL, there are a lot of them and they change the play style a fair bit but it's still completely implemented in the competitive scene and there's no real reason why this couldn't be the case here as well (and if you really want to you can just play without them)

It's matchup knowledge, usually when I'm playing a fighting game I build up unconsious movement for handling certain characters. For example if I'm playing against ganondorf in ultimate I know when I can hit certain combos, perks would literally change that.

I got a plethora of issues with the game so far.
So my biggest issue is that hitstun is non existent. Characters can just jump right out of it, fastfall (a problem I'll address later), or airdodge. The lack of hitstun also immensely affects it's already lacking combo game.

-The movement does not feel good at all. It's just way too floaty atm. My biggest issue is that everyone's air mobility is absurd; everyone basically has Jigglypuffs air mobility but 10x better. It's absolutely ridiculous.

-Fastfalling feels horrible since it still somehow feels too floaty. What's worse is trying to do a fastfasll aerial. Jesus Christ. Every character has problems with aerials halting momentum completely which makes fastfall aerials feel horrible to use. Bugs Bunny's down-air is an egregious example of this.

-The lack of defensive options is just inexcusable. Not even talking about the lack of shield, why the hell is there no teching? You're completely boned in some situations when a wallbounce or groundbounce happens since, you know, you can't tech. You pretty much eat a stock for nothing and there isn't much you can do about that.

-Killing in this game takes way too long. Even if you hit someone with a move that hasn't been stale, it won't kill. Why? Like I said before, hitstun and fastfalling. It makes the game SO much slower than it needs to be. It also doesn't help that most characters have a rough time killing on any side of the screen.

-What is going on with the button mappings in this game? Why do you have smashes on directions except the side? Why is the three hit combo the side tilt and not when you press X/Square 3 times? I don't think that makes much sense at all. Why do some character have specials as tilts? I.E Bugs Bunny?

-I think this game needs landing animations. I always felt like there was something off about landing after an aerial, going for a juggle combo, and why I feel like landing overall feels clunky and this may be the culprit.

Not even one of her attacks do more than 10% and she's stubby for no reason (she literally has A SWORD)

my honest review of the game so far. Positives: The game in its gameplay is fantastic, really. The fact that the characters are unique brings a very good dynamic to the gameplay, as well as being charismatic with specific lines and so on. The variation of characters is very good too, ps: bring Rick and Morty. Negative: Basically the game's menus, in addition to being poorly optimized on some platforms like the ps4, where the menus are extremely locked, also convey an intention of organization that ends up generating disorganization, they are tabs on top of tabs and etc, it's very bureaucratic you get where you want with these menus. It could be a menu more like Warzone, Fortnite or even a model like Smash bros.

The way respawning works is kind of terrible. There have been so many games where I’ve been surprised by a enemy spawning right in front of me and I have to time to react.

can we please have an option to have you use the regular colors of a character and the opponent to use alternate colors?
its either you gotta have 90% of the cast be incorrectly colored since they mostly use red/brown/orange, or have both characters be identical, which is ok because of the outlines but can be a little confusing during mirror matches but still its not ideal.

Alright, just gotta say it, you guys get a little freedom in representing characters a certain way. Sometimes costumes are more or less improvised like shaglee or that champion shaggy.

What you should add is a version of shaggy with hair turned bright white out of fright. you know that trope, where you get so scared your hair turns white? and if anything pair it with the joke from the old scooby doo where shaggy's hair would turn spiky out of fear as well.
and i mean while your at it, might as well introduce white for outline color.... which might turn shaggy's aura white....

i think we all know what im getting at here

In general think the game needs more hit stun and or like someone said above less spammy dodges. They should be able to be punished a little easier. Once you get to a point everyone just spams them to avoid hits and it can get annoying and probably not good gameplay long-term. Aside from that and the new networking issues with big lag spikes where people jump across the stage or just die out of nowhere I think its good.

Taz feels weak and trying to land the eating attack feels abysmal. Tornado is the only thing that reliably kills so people spam it.

Everyone else so far feels fine based on my memory from the last test as well as playing a few new people.

It seems like sometimes if I get knocked away and try to catch myself with Batman for some reason a magnetic pull comes out and pulls me down faster when gliding then normally falling, even when I get to the ledge and try to jump back up I can't due to this 4x increase in gravitational pull that came out of no where

The game needs better GCC optimization, the game doesn't register c stick inputs when you're in a match, however it does when you're in the menu. A large portion of platform fighter players use GCC so I think this is an important issue to solve.

i think the perk system is actually in a really great spot, my only complaint is i wish you could teach perks as soon as you get 1 character to level 8 instead of it being character by character basis, im okay with not having yellow perks to start because they remix the character and its good to force the player to learn with the default moves to start, but unlocking teaching perks discourages me from wanting to switch characters as much as i would. but to be fair you unlock it quite fast so its not too bad

that´s a neat idea. the first thing i do in a new game is go to settings automatically. immediately thought "there are binds for neutral attack/ special inputs" and that´s never noticed anywhere else. i imagine many players never even open their settimgs. maybe just letting them know in the tutorial would be enough but being sent to settings/keybinds immediately sounds like a better idea

I think shaggy's flame burst follow up to his stomp should be done even if he doesnt land the stomp, this gives him a nice tool to break up things on the ground like T&J's traps or Harley's Boxes since he's lacking in disjoints everywhere else.
trying to break them with anything but the sandwich just leads to it hitting you anyway, and landing the sandwich on them is near impossible as you gotta aim it so the descent it hits the trap

also directional dodging on the ground would be amazing otherwise I've been enjoy the heck out of this game.
Also also with in-game currency, the possibility of buying the premium battle pass with the in-game coinage in the final game should definitely be considered as whales will still drop irl cash on the pass and kids that can't afford it can still get the fun stuff they want yk.

Arya needs her combo game back. It was nerfed into the ground in this patch. She has no way to combo into any move besides her dagger now and that completely ruins the complexity of her character. She wasn't overpowered before, and the nerfs have ruined what made her so fun to play, the complexity of her combo trees and how you had to read your opponent's options to get better combos. That hardly exists with her anymore and it is a terrible shame.
