You aren't the only one man. Like from the footage shown off, the moves don't have much impact.

Maybe that's because it's always 2v2 so the camera is zoomed out, but the way Smash mitigates that is with Capcom's animation philosophy. Strong Posing and impactful SFX/GFX while keeping the moves easy to "read".

I think as things are right now from the released footage, the animations might be too fluid.

There's not enough impact because the poses don't have time to linger and sell the strength of a move.

not as much feedback but a concept: occasional competitions like the player can pick a side (similar to Splat fests from Splatoon or the Wario vs Waluigi event in Mario Kart Tour):
When a player picks the team they can earn points for said team maybe even a bonus for those characters thematically link. For example let's say there's red team or green team, green team gets reindog and shaggy while red team gets steven and garnet.

This can also be used for promoting new characters. Going back on the red vs green event, a character reveal can be used to promote more attention. Imagine if you will, that green team members get early access to green lantern and ben 10 while red team members get early access to the flash and blossom from ppg.

in the end it's just friendly competition/interaction for the game to do well while getting more characters for the fans that want certain characters that have similarities.

I was going to suggest finding a less crazy place to suggest characters. as I said before the #character-wishlist channel is a bit of a free for all and kinda crowded with meme picks and repeated lists

It's hard to explain why this is, but a character suggestion channel wouldn't be a good idea either. The character wishlist channel is fine because it exists for people to share what characters they wish to be in the game. Character suggestions would end up being the same channel except with more information and less picks. They're not particularly useful. I believe characters are added either by WB request, dev request, or online demand (which means Twitter and YouTube would be the go-to places to actually suggest characters.) I'm not saying I'm 100% correct, but I'm pretty sure this Discord is for people who need help with the game, would like to provide gameplay feedback, or to have fun.

I wanted to talk about an "error" in the translation of the site to Brazilian Portuguese.
Well, is basically about the terms "Gem" and "Crystal gems" in the characters (Steven and Garnet) that in the official translation/adaptation of the series here in Brazil the terms were kept in English but in the Brazilian Portuguese version of the site is the literal translation. and for those who know the characters and the cartoon series it is very strange. hey so ive had access to previous versions for a while now. i just got confirmation earlier this week that i still have access to the closed alpha which is great. the one thing that has prevented me from wanting to play a bunch is i have no friends that have access and theyve all signed up. i heard some were able to invite 3 friends to participate but i was never able to and still cant (i tried account -> beta management like it says in the faq but i see no option for inviting friends). could anybody help me out? id love to have some friends join me on the fun

I don't know if anyone else here has an issue with this, but I've been looking at some gameplay footage and I think the biggest presentation-related issue the game has right now is the fact that each fighter's damage percentage is always displayed below their model rather than next to their icon at the top of the screen. This isn't exactly intuitive if you're familiar with either platform fighters or traditional fighters, it can make it hard to read your opponent's damage if they're moving around (which is generally almost always), and if you're above your opponent, the damage indicator can obscure what they're doing below you. I really hope there's an option to move the damage percentage to the top of the screen (especially with there being so much screen real estate up there between the fighter icons).
