I kinda wish the game offered alternative sets for the characters. For Wonder Woman, for example. I get the sword and shield are her most appealing look because it gives her a Xena The Warrior Princess kind of vibe, but that's not what she is, and if you ask her fans, they'll tell you better than me everything wrong with it, and how it's a disservice to the character. Her lasso and Tiara are actually her main weapon, and one isn't used at all while the other is one move of her whole move set, which is kinda sad imo. Imagine playing Wonder Woman using Pro Wrestling Move instead, along her lasso and tiara ? That'd be pretty fun.

You can apply this to Superman. For example, the character we're currently playing has charge attack, can fly and toss. But, if you were to make a different move set, you could make him have his Solar Flare, or make him more like he was in the Golden Age when he couldn't fly but could do very high jump.

Tom and Jerry has basically a kill confirm combo that is true, half of the time dodging harleys dash attack it still manages to hit you, 90% percent of ranked matches are against Harley or Arya cause while every other character is A tier they are S+

I would like to share my impressions of MultiVersus. The game has tremendous potential, but it currently doesn't fully showcase it. Here are my comments and suggestions:
Areas Needing Improvement:
Character Balance:
Several characters, such as Jason, Joker, and Iron Giant, seem overpowered, making matches against them frustrating and less enjoyable.
Infinite combos reduce the fun and competitive spirit of the game, leading to an unbalanced experience.
Camera and Game Speed:
The current camera settings feel awkward and can cause discomfort during gameplay.
The game seems slower compared to the beta version, which was faster and more enjoyable.
User Interface (UI) and Heads-Up Display (HUD):
The UI and HUD design appears to be inspired by Fortnite, which doesn't quite fit the unique style of MultiVersus.
Pricing of Skins and Characters:
Skins are too expensive, and the amount of heroic crystals needed to unlock characters is excessively high. 10,000 crystals for one character is unreasonable.
The grinding required for free-to-play players should be enjoyable, but the current system makes it feel like a chore.
Reward and Challenge System:
Tasks related to rifts, like obtaining the free Agent Smith character, are unachievable for players with limited time.
Requiring players to reach level 7 for gem perks and level 9 to progress further is too demanding.
Microtransactions:
Charging 1,000 Gleamium (approximately 10 euros) for a character is too expensive.
Legendary skins being more costly than characters is excessive.
Summary:
MultiVersus has great potential, but it currently feels more like a beta version rather than a complete game, and a less polished beta compared to the earlier one. I understand that your studio may be small, but releasing the game prematurely has affected its quality. However, I am hopeful that Season 2 will bring improvements and that the introduction of new characters like Samurai Jack and Beetlejuice will attract more players.

tbh I think this Circuit Drone event is kinda asking too much. Feels like the missions are making even less of an impact on progression than the Warmup missions. Not to mention the fact that only Circuit Drone skins count towards boosting event XP which is low key play-to-win vibes. At least with the Multiversal Games event there were already some sports attire skins previously available (plus Jason).

I really liked the whole rift & event system of season 1. Hardly any of the skins that have been part of these events have ever felt worth buying or hard-grinding for. I don't care about Black Adam wearing a hockey mask, but if you give him to me for completing a few missions? Sure I'll do the tasks. And then right around the same time a rift would ask for someone with a hockey mask. Felt like a sort of payoff.

It all felt like it promoted coming in to play and putting in the time to keep getting free things. Now it feels very greedy, and you're still asking me to do all this for skins that just aren't that amazing but waving Baseball Finn and Fencer Arya in my face saying "You can't actually get these in the event, but we think you should know they're here". Either put better skins in events to make it feel more worth it or make it easy to earn these things. It's not enticing me anymore.

If you've been playing since the start like me, you've probably acquired a sports attire skin through some means. There was already a number skins available under that category, but now with Circuit Drones they want Circuit Drone skins, which are only available in the Circuit Drone shop, so if I want a Circuit Drone skin for free in a quicker amount of time there's no previously earned option. it's just "buy a Circuit Drone skin to help get your free Circuit Drone skin"

And they aren't posting daily new event missions anymore (and have drastically reduced the amount of normal daily missions), so it kinda DOESN'T feel like the point emphasized is grinding over multiple days

No you're wrong, literally didn't even try to argue your point on how events are less grindy, so let me argue why events are more grindy. Before if you did all your daily missions, you were good. now even if you do all your missions you get nowhere close to finishing the event, instead you just have farm normal games for points. This is unbearably slow unless you have x3 boost from the variant bonus, but you might not have a boosted skin, especially this week since the boosted skins are the new line that you won't have unless you pay gleamium for it. So don't blow smoke that events are "shorter and less grindy" because you are wrong.

you have a week to do the unbearably grindy task of playing the game in order to get the reward. i have 2k xp left in quests to do, played about 20 games of 1s this morning and collected the first reward. i just did testing for you and got about 100xp for winning in each casual game mode with my highest being 150 in 1s and lowest being 60 in ffa. that is about ten games per day to finish up the last 2 tiers which isnt too grindy in my opinion.

i believe priority in character balance should be as follows:

Arya, Jack, and Finn are the most in need of nerfs with Iron Giant being an honorable mention (I have literally seen more velmas than IGs after the last major patch so even if hes busted you can play around with his nerfs a bit more)

Jake and Velma are still the characters in biggest need of a buff

I believe this is something most people can agree upon, but here are some of my personal changes if could make them

Morty- his last change didn't help with his sidespecial being spammable, sure it is less effective at spamming but that didn't make it less spammable. And because of that the buffs he gained outweighed the nerfs he faced by a longshot. The only way to make sidespecial less spammy is to give it more counterplay or to make its counterplay easier.

Jason- currently he has two useless moves, bag (grounded down special) and rage grounded neutral special. To address bag I feel you should make it a better kill move and make it slightly less risky, not by letting it kill if thrown of ledge per se but by letting him combo the bag release with other moves. I'd rework the other move so that it is a good combo starter (maybe freeze the oponent if it connects?). additionally, i know this has been said before but make his ranged attacks not have hurtboxes please and thank you.

Why am I in bronze ranking but my last 5 fights are gold III players and up. Why is there not rank based matchmaking on ranked. Ive been holding out hope as time goes on things will get better for casual players who cant dedicate an hour a day playing but its very much so not and is turning into a game only sweats can enjoy. If you guys dont figure out how the sweats can fight mostly with other sweats newer players will not wanna play after their 20th time being death comboed by superman. My characters kept losing their stock by themselves by running off ledges
And at first I thought it might have been my controller
But then it started happening in different directions
And then it started happening on stages that are walled off
And not only did the characters keep running off the ledges, they were actively using moves that prioritized going downward

And so, I hope it was a glitch because otherwise, it feels like this is some punishment for the game's own performance because it felt like it kept happening more after lag (but it would even happen at spawn in, without me touching the controller, so it's not like it was input lag)

Add an ELO calibration system, so that good players don't spend too long grinding against players that are well below their skill level.

If we assume a best case scenario of 11 points per win, 9 per loss, a 70% winrate, instant queues and an average of 5 minutes per game; you are getting about 99.6 rank points per hour.

However, queues take longer, loading times take longer, sometimes you get less points and so on.

Why is this a problem?

A player's real skill rating is the rating where they play against people that are at their level (basically, a rank where their winrate is as close to 50% as possible).
If we force them to have to grind for too long, they will be stuck playing against players that are not at their level (signalled by them having a winrate that is well over 50%), which is a bad thing for everyone.

Basically a system that takes into account variables such as winrate and peak rank on that season, to "guess" that for example, if a player is Masters 2 on a character, they are probably not going to play at a Bronze 5 level on most of the rest of the cast.
So if their winrate is high enough, they get rewarded with more points per win so they don't have to waste too much time in lower ranks, where they will have an abnormally high winrate anyways.

This system could basically work like those approximation algorithms where you are guessing a number, if you guess low, you guess double your previous guess

And if you guess high, you "guess" somewhere in between that guess and the previous one

Something like that coupled with a margin of error to account for the fact that even the best players can have 1 or 2 bad games on those ranks should make the ranked experience better across the board

As in higher skill players won't feel like they are wasting their time playing matches that are too 1 sided on their favor, and lower skill players won't have to play against people that will stomp them

Also, for next season, you should introduce something like placement matches or a hidden MMR variable that takes into account previous skill rating in order to give the ELO system a starting point for it's estimations.

It's a system that has been proven to work on other games, so something like it should be put on the "high priority" list in order to make ranked a rewarding experience for all

After 1v1ing Jack a bit i've discovered that he's the only bruiser (possible character) that has a slide during his dodge mechanic.

If you dodge and turn the opposite way it still drags him back while his attacks still have a bit more reach horizontally. This makes him harder to hit when he's dodging and makes him really good in almost any situation.

Not sure if intentional, but if possible lets get this type of dodging on all characters or remove it from him to make it "fair" for the entire cast.

Maybe work out some kinda way to reduce spam as it seems some combos are just all a character has and get spammed to death, if that's the only way to play them then is probably a design problem.

Clashing attacks are kinda dumb, this game should probably use some kinda clink or make it so the more powerful attack hits, having attacks like mortys down attack and taz spin show how poor the current system of attack clashes is.

finn has so much knock back, I don't understand how this is possible to lose 1 life at 20hp just be cause of one bad move, but as always "you just have to parry" but again you forget the parry is high risk and with the netcode 70% of luck so the result would be the same. It should be rock paper scissor and not 50/50. add shield and grab, that's all.

To play against a morty you need to be at 300% of your capacity because it require lot of focus to anticipate all his move the only character in the roaster that ask that much amount of focus. (close combat character like harley can't do anything).

Gizmo is same kind, he can cancel his moves, probably the only character that has a cancel mechanics(batman kick, but ok).
Why other characters doesn't have cancel attack too (like the beta)

Netcode or anime are bugged, I'm often (and do often) hit by an opponent without touching the hurtbox (can provide video, jack kick is great example, but steven side shield attack do the same)

Quests should award you enough XP to get every reward in an event.

Grinding PVP event XP should only be an optional path to finish faster and get those same rewards faster by grinding the event. Not the only option to finish the events in general to get the rewards. You can for sure make them harder or whatever as the event goes on but having to aimlessly play PVP to gain random amounts of XP (even with an event boosted skin) sucks BAD. No other free to play game does it like this (and not in a good way at all).

I love having the option to choose my rewards thats amazing but games like these should always have a very clear path to completion for events and rewards. This helps everyone to know exactly what needs to be done to get X, Y or Z reward.

Even as someone who luckily has time to play these events this is not worth the amount of time it is asking for.

I really dislike how much of a chore this came to be now. Ill just do my weeklies and forget events even exist for now until it gets fixed.
