I 100% agree. It’s annoying when people are taking advantage of a certain stage with a certain character. I’m still confused as to why majority of Twitter voted for the GOT map to be in ranked. That had to be the dumbest decision ever made. Platforms consistently moving and blast zone being almost impossible to knock out a heavy character. Switches for mansion make the game impossible when people are cheesing by flipping the switches and throwing projectiles because they know you have to jump and dodge twice as much. These are the type of players that camp at the edge of the map so by the time you get close you have no jumps or dodges because of the switches. Happens to me almost every game. Batcave people hiding in smoke and let’s not even mention how awful tree fort is

I know I shouldn’t be comparing the game to smash when smash has been out for like 10 plus years but in smash they give you an option to fight online with omega stages or platforms. It makes the game WAY easier that way considering ALOT of characters benefit on certain maps

I'm just saying the MMR to say that they're the top 100 players in the game being matched against me, a relatively average player. It doesn't make any sense and it doesn't matter if ranked uses MMR or not. It still makes no sense at all that I'm matched vs them.

By the way, I also get matched against 5k MMR players in casual too. Neither one is balanced. Or maybe, my account is glitched somehow (as I wrote above). But judging by the match histories of these players with 15+ win streaks against new players, the matchmaking is NOT WORKING.

What's the point of ranked if you don't get mastery in normals? Shouldn't mmr or individual character mmr be separate from normals? My bad if it is.
I just feel like ranked is there for rewards when it should be for the competition and you should get that MMR when you do ranked as well. Either that or remove mmr and replace with a mastery system that ranks you in both or have individual mmr for normal and ranked.

Also please do something about finn. Everyone wins with finn regardless of skill or maybe fix the hitboxes because you get hit with attacks that aren't supposed to hit in your back.

@shell mirage I agree to disagree. For me jake isn’t a major issue. My major issue lies with the balancing of a lot of characters. Jake’s biggest issue for me is skateboard like you mentioned. I’m happy they are fixing it in a later patch and nerfing it. Not only is the hitbox on it crazy jank, it combos into itself and you can basically knock somebody upward and out the blastzone at like 80. The biggest issue with the move is being able to air cancel it and short hop with it. The move has 0 end lag so Jake can literally just short hop skateboard and the problem with short hopping the move is that a lot of times you can barely see him bring it out like do the animation. You can air cancel it and short hop with it to the point where Jake won’t do the full animation. Which make sure hard to react to. I can’t tell you the amount of jakes I ran into that literally spam skateboard the ENTIRE match because he can’t be punished and it’s hitbox is jank

Also even if Jake doesn’t do the full animation and you’re below him you still get hit. It still counts. I’ve gotten hit on the side with that move. It’s dumb

Well here's the thing, his punch covers the entire side of the map so you cant be there. If he is off stage and you have any attack like superman's grab he can simply inflate himself and he will hit YOU.

He can turn in to a house and a lot of times he will be unhittable for whatever reason. He will also be invincible and will have a free touch down whenever he uses it

With other characters if Harly gets you in the air you will be juggled if you dont have any dodges saved jake is simply immune to that

Hence why 3 Jakes won that tournament its his entire kit

And EVEN when he eats you you cant get out of it

I really enjoy this game and it's clear that the team has put a lot of effort and passion into this game, but there's a lot that needs to be done. When the game first launched, we got updates constantly, whether it was a character/stage/mode announcement, or a tweet telling us something would be delayed, but still on the way. However, for the past few weeks we haven't heard anything from you guys. Live Service games like this need constant communicating between devs and players. Please make the battle pass easier to grind for without growing roots on my chair just to complete one tier. I'm at Tier 43 right now and the XP needed to tier up is just getting ridiculous. I don't know who thought this was a good idea, Season 1's XP-lock at 1000 was a lot better because it didn't require you to play for HOURS if you wanna complete the battle pass. You gotta remember that people have lives and can't spend an entire day playing MVS to grind the battle pass

I concur, I just reached level 46 and it's telling me that to get to level 47, I need to get 5000 BP points. Requiring this much time to level up for another crumb of content doesn't make people want to play the game more, it just turns the game into a chore. Battle passes should have more tiers with more rewards that require much less grinding to achieve, if you want to prevent people from feeling burnout.

Same here, I think season ends feb 15 so yeah you definitely will need to play every single day and do the dailies and all the weeklies and it should hopefully be enough to finish. It takes over 5 days of dailies to get a level in the 40s. with the remaining time you may even need to grind the game beyond doing dailies to get enough for 50 its insane

I login to overwatch 2 and get 1-2 tiers in the BP from playing for less than an hour, feels good. Login to MV play for an hour get nothing from BP, then when it is time to level up its 10 toasts reward 🤡

alright so since it seems to be the place for feedback so here I go, i'm not looking to have an argument with any player otherwise i'd have gone to the steam forums, this feedback is for the devs if they read things here. also it's gonna be very long, i like the game so i wanna state things correctly. first let's state some facts : we've seen there is definitely an audience for a good platform fighter, a peak of 150K steam players at release, 140K the next month but then the numbers plummeted. it's normal for f2p games to have a player count drop after release however it dropped from 140K month 2 to 22K month 3 and we're currently sitting at less than 2K. the players were definitely disappointed with the game. i'm just gonna try and make a recap of what i think needs to be changed based on my own experience and what i've heard people complaining about. 1. people complain a lot about battlepass although i'm gonna be honest i feel like it's a trend to complain about that kind of stuff ( although sometimes it's warranted cough overwatch 2 cough ) it seems more than fine here, i've been able to unlock characters at a decent pace as a f2p player, i feel like the game's economy is more than fine. i'm not sure what could be done to please these players without compromising the game rentability. 2. BS stages. I definitely feel like that's a huge issue, you're going in the competitive direction with the game, and yet we've got rando stages that are akin to smash "fun mode". we need regular, competitive stages with no holes ( and probs no walls ) and with a single floor. as in competitive smash.

3. matchmaking !! it never ever takes more than 5 seconds to find a game while, even though we don't have numbers for the overall player count, it must still be pretty low. result : 60 to 80% of the matches are lopsided. i mean it even happened somewhat often to be matched against what looked like top players as a complete beginner. even now that i've somewhat improved I still very often get unfair matches. I understand there are also people complaining when queue times are too long but i'm definitely sure there's a middle ground between >3minutes queue times and <5seconds queue times. 4. finn. best disjointed, some of the best frame data, good combo game, can kill very early, pretty heavy, chargeable attacks, GEM!!!!, potentially the fastest character, crazy uptilt, crazy down air, insane jabs, sick side air, amazing ground neutral, very useful neutral air and let's not get started on his specials with the bag and whatnot. I understand all characters have cracked aspects in their kits but it's only certain facets, you can play around these and counter it, meanwhile finn has literally EVERYTHING and his tools are often best in game. also i'm not sure but it feels like he has insanely good whiff recovery ?? idk how many times i dodged his moves only to get out-prioritized when trying to punish. might just be a skill issue though, i'm still learning to play the game.

So yeah that's about it, I think the most urgent points are 2 and 3. people get pissed when they're coming in to tryhard, expecting a competitive experience but get bothered by "anti-competitive" elements since it kinda defeats the whole point of the game. I do realise it's a beta and "it's nurmal things aren't wurking lul", but the population has already suffered a severe drop and i'd like to see it keep going since I enjoy playing it (most of the time), while points 2 and 3 wouldn't take much to be fixed. (Also i think it's just a mistake to release in a rough state. the vast majority of wannabe competitive games that release in "early access" or beta as the trend goes just fail miserably, alienating their player base before it even has a chance to be played in a finished state, and most people that are gone will never look back. not that it matters now.) The battlepass grind is too large, I feel like you're overcompensating for all the times the people said the previous pass was "too easy".

I know that there are people that have free time and love the game so much they'll complete it in a Flash, but from what I've heard the later levels are a slog to grind through.

I still think this is a good option to keep players engaged (most likely the 2nd option could work) but there would be more need for the shop to have extra items.

Tekken monetizes frame data, has rage drive no one asked for, prices characters 6$ a pop same with maps. Street Fighter had LITERAL ADS like a fing mobile game. My biggest gripe right now is the Matchmaking system. Im a pretty high ranked stripe. Top 100 overall and I am playing brand new players way too frequently. There is really no reason someone with 6k+ MMR is playing someone that has less than 10 games logged.

Oddly enough MVS suffers from the same issue of lack of proper performance based exp, but copying one of the VERY FEW things Infinite does right would bring no harm to the game. If anything, it would be a benefit, because a lot of people are less likely to keep buying into the battlepasses if they know it's going to be a slog that they may not even make it through. Simply put, many (especially now) are experiencing buyer's remorse.

gamemode suggestion: i want for the stage: "the court" to have its own smash like basketball mode, both teams need to fight for the basketball that spawns in the middle of the map their main goal is to score points (a scoreboard should be present) in the opposite team their basketrings, damage can be done to other players so they can get ring out but doesnt count for victory only goal points do, the basketball should be able to also bounce of to players if trown to them (similar as lebron his basketball) but should also be grabbed by other players if said player pressed the grab button in time when the basketball is send flying, basketball can be dropped if player who has the ball is attacked or trew it and it went nowhere, mode should be time based like free for all, if either teams scored no points at all or the points are a drawn it could either be defeat for both or a drawn for both il leave that decision for you guys, mode should be mostly for 2v2 but maybe 1v1 can work aswel.

There's this other fighting game called lethal league that is very close to what you're describing. You have a ball that you throw at each other. Normally it's not goal-based but there's a seperate gamemode where that's the case. It's criminally underrated and i can Definitely recommend it

I really wish you guys would post an update on the game and what you guys are working on. We've been in the dark for over a month now, and while the Christmas and New Year's events are cool, it's not really enough to keep people playing. I can understand if there's some issues going on behind the scenes or development problems/delays, but I think the community deserves to know what's going on besides the occasional, "We're excited to show you what we've been working on". It's sad to see so many people upset and dropping the game, and I really want this game to succeed and thrive.

The lack of communication combined with the excessive battle pass, constant errors and changes with dates in-game, matchmaking that is often unfair, and a game that is overall lacking in content, all needs be fixed and addressed soon. Grinding in Multiversus isn't fun at all due to how tedious it can be sometimes. I know previously the Battle Pass did get boring due to there's nothing to do afterwards but please for the next season the battle pass isn't too tedious to complete so players can keep engaged

Another flaw with the game is many perks are hit or miss, Tasmanian Trig and Triple Jump are the best perks in the game since it essentially makes a character undefeatable and the extra jump gives some characters too much mobility.

Meanwhile perks like Ice to beat you is absolutely dog water from how not a lot of characters utilize heavy projectiles so only a 1 character can actually use the perk which is Tom & Jerry and even then there's better perk options

Offensive perks should stack in my opinion since they're the most useless perks in the game and only 5 of them are good

School me once should be reverted from it's nerf since projectiles are still quite a problem especially with projectiles focused teams (tbh the defense perks are quite balanced)

Tasmanian Trig should be nerfed from 20% DI to 15% DI (25%-20% stacked) in order to make stocks last for a while

There should be more signature Perks as well, maybe give characters 3-5 sig perks max. Some characters like Taz have very mediocre perks that are character or teammate reliant.

For the new perks, old perks from the Alpha like Taz's tornado reflect can return and some new ones such as Finn granting a rage buff to his teammate whenever he high fives them, Jerry can do melee attacks based on Tom's input (like how Luma acts from smash) but Jerry looses his corks

A few more signature Perk ideas i have are:

Bugs' safe is replaced by an explosive gift that explodes when destroyed or after it's 10 second countdown is finished but it's cooldown is slightly longer

Jake's moves that involve him stretching go 25% further but those moves will have more endlag and come out slower

Taz is healed whenever he eats a projectile and whenever he chews on his opponent but loses the ability to spit them out and the ability to grant weakened

Stripe is able to use his chainsaw instead of skateboard when he uses side special that is like WW's shield from how he's able to hold it out and functions the same as the aerial version but it has a limit and a slight cooldown

The gameplay is good in Multiversus but the pass and other things for real money are handled so poorly. Charging extra for the animated show batman just to bank on nostalgia rather then having some quality to it, pass going up in EXP requirements from level to level (I'm willing to give the benefit of a doubt on the exp going up because in RPGs that is what happens but I also wouldn't put it past someone to be just like hey they think it will go fast because levels will be easy initially...)

the communication is the biggest thing that gets me. For a studio called player first games you would think communication is their first priority. I love the game and i think it has potential but for anything to happen the team has to remind themselves, ASAP, of the name of their company and what that means.

Suggestion for selling stuff: Specifically for battle passes you should sell the battle pass token as its own thing and not allow glemium to purchase it. Then you can justify putting some glemium in the battlepasses. The free and premium battlepass should both reward some glemium but only after the battlepass purchase is changed to token only and the token is for sale. You need to split it up like this. Also please give 2x more gold in both free and premium track

This makes no sense. A certain % of your MMR will be transferred to characters you just pick up. Otherwise you would have to start with 900mmr which would result in to SMURFS every time a pro player touched a new character.
This system is used to prevent that. Matchmaking doesn't work either way and that's a separate discussion

I no-lifed this game for months. my MMR is 1600 and my teams rank is top 900. Its not about me needing to practice more. Its about Finns up air being broken and way too OP for how strong the rest of his moveset is.

The range is just too high. If they made it just slightly less wide it'd be okay, but if I'm in the air I cannot physically dodge away if hes got me in his up air combo

Or if they gave it lower priority and made it easier to break thatd be cool too. But as it stands right now, the up air has too much armor and too wide of a hitbox to be able to dodge

And even if it did, let a more experienced player tell you that Finn's upair is not the problem with his kit and that, even though Finn is a strong character, you can still do more and practice more to counter him.

I brought it up to say that I'm not a noob that just needs to practice more. I have been playing this game for months. If me- a fairly decent player, in the top 3% of the player base- is complaining about Finn, the answer is not just "get better", because I know for a fact that people less experienced than me are having the same issue. You probably defended iron giant from being nerfed in early beta too. Or bugs. Or Velma. Characters are gonna be broken. Its an early acess game. The best the community can do is agree on what is considered broken- and if there are ppl like you, who are in the top like .5% or however good you are, saying that its not an issue because you can deal with it, youre just making it that much more of a struggle for everyone else who plays. The range on his attacks (Hitbox) and his priority (armor) are too high for him to be a balanced character to fight. idctbh about his dodge or his recovery. I am ok with that. My issue is his up-special's hitbox and armor make it impossible to dodge if you get caught in it, especially in 2s where both enemies pick him. Theres no recovering from that if you dont have A) under like 75 dmg, and B) a character whose down attack or down special can break that armor, which are few and far between.

Also I never said i cared about his recovery or his dodge. those are both skills that every character can learn pretty easily

Hitboxes and armor are not skills that you can just "get better at" though, they are part of the games code and in finns case, theyre broken

Obviously for IRL matches this is expected but via online there should at least be that barrier in matches especially to compensate for suboptimal network/server conditions

I like the direction this game it’s taking rn, MVS doesn’t really need a big community rn cuz the game it’s still on process and you can notice it (some big amount of bugs w. This patch let’s be honest 💀 ) and the servers are still meh sadly but it’s better than S1

i get that we have to test to a degree because its in beta but day one of this patch was literally unplayable my teammate is multiple states away from me and we were having the same spikes. However, im sure they dont just yolo it and do some sort of basic testing before dropping the patch or else they run the risk of the game being literally unplayable. My point is that it seemed to me they did no testing at all this time around or perhaps only through local play. I am happy though because they seemed to have realized the issue and it seems to be much better. Day one of this patch, at least in NA was close to actually unplayable both teams were having lag spikes worse than back in season 0.

I'm not technically sure if this qualifies as a bug but there is an issue with the bundles that says they cannot be purchased if you have one item from the bundle already.
Ordinarily that would be okay, but Beachcomber Taz is not available outside of the bundle anymore and I really want that skin. If it could be made separate, or more preferably, if discounted versions of the bundles were available for partial owners that would be great.
