You can get coins from completing battle pass and other event missions which will sometimes reward you with coins. Levelling up your character will give you coins. Also receiving toast from other players will give you so 5 coins

You level up gems by opening boxes in Rifts. Higher difficulty gives more experiences

I can help you fight Jason if you want, but I also haven't beaten him yet. My red gems are level 6, which I don't know if it would be enough since level 8 is recommended. But maybe with two people it's easier

What is a good beginner character to play?

Usually Wonder woman, Shaggy, Superman and Finn are easy to get ok with because they have easy combos to pull out.

But sincerely, just pick a character with a moveset you like and practice with him. Some characters are less intuitive but once you know how to use their kit, it becomes natural.

pretty much. learning the fight system helps with learning the character.
like knowing which inputs do hit stuns, knockbacks (and at percent they can spiked), which inputs can be charged up.
also this system is way dependent on dodge and/or parry for damage negation.
virtually zero block, it's kind of a character special move right now to have a block.
I know WW and Steven have shields that block projectiles.

learning the character really is just reading the moveset in fighter selection.
it tells you right there what each move does, specifically like armor breaker or has a cooldown, and what passives they might have.

For the quest and the daily login, is it enough to buy Morty cybernetic outfit

It will get you a majority of the way. Just under 14000 Cybucks. You need 17000. There are some missions that can give you cybucks and playing pvp will award small amounts to you as well (25 per loss and 50 per win)

Theres also the Upgrade War event based around the event that will award 2000 cybucks as the last reward

So after all of that, it should be enough, but pvp will be needed

Unless you wait till the end of the daily logins

I would say Im new but Im trying to learn how to play the game actually and not just button smash hoping something lands any tips or characters I should play?

most of it is learning the input system i find for this one.
the controls are really basic i think.
you have a button for "attack" that has 4 different attacks depending on your stick input. ie. up+attack, down+attack, side+attack and neutral attack.
you have the same with the "special" button.
then there's also second set move inputs when in the air using the same stick+button input.
and then there's dodge and jump buttons too.

characters I say test them in training. they have their differences.
some do 2 hit stuns into a grab.
some do 2 hit stuns into a knockback.
some do 1 hit stun into a knockback.

they're labeling is pretty accurate in terms of learning curve with easy, medium or hard labels.

Been playing since beta unlock about half the cast without spending any money, only spent 5 € on the season pass. It’s a long grind doing all the challenges to get Fighter currency or the new seasonal medal or circuit that let’s u unlock characters or skins.

Most ppl avoid the Rifts which is where you get a lot of xp, u need to do all the challenges if you want free stuff.

They really need to have a larger cooldown between U-Air attacks. you can dodge right out of one and be helpless because they have a second one they're already launching.)

Either parry them or wait with the dodge/jump, down air/down special depending on the characters, if you're above your opponent you're in a disadvantage and it's basically a guessing game

OH right! Parry stunlocks them, right? you can get away clean or send them down away from you.

At that point we need to go back to the drawing board and go into training to find combos and reads. You might be pressing buttons when you dont need to, slow down the game if you need to and wait for a punish

I'd recommend mixing up your general timing with just jumping up after you're above your opponent just to see what they do as a follow up, or if your character has good down attacks use those to land

But yes parry does stunlock them and you can even reverse the situation and hit them to the top of the blast zone themselves

easy to forget there's many ways to play, y'now and that some characters have far more options than you think they do.

The direction of the dodge depends on what move they will use/who you play against but in general most of the cast has good vertical killing power

Also fast falling and jumping/dodging to break/keep your momentum and in general just to mix up the ways you land without being character specific

Since we're on the topic if the opponent is above you you can just jump and fast fall and they will do a dodge while you're still jumping in most cases and then you can just hit them for free basically

Platform fighters are different than your usual fighters but the general principles apply

Just know if your opponent smacked you above them that they have the advantage and you're the one who needs to survive the situation, get better and you can reverse those situations and get good damage if they're overconfident or even kill them early

the way I think of it is mages usually have more range attacks and require more set up to perform efficiently, bruisers are are get in types that can do damage and have medium weight usually and assassins can do the same thing as a bruisers but usually they have less endlagg and they are lighter on top of how the archetypes move. Now I agree that some of the characters have a weird archetype

is it me or the exp rates for the pvp event are reaaaaallly low like i have to win 15 times with a beetlejuice skin to get a single level

Did they announce in any trailer, or the breakdown stream, that Beetlejuice would be early access for a while? Cause it feels kinda douchey... Not only it costs a ridicously ammount of the slowest farming currency in the game but you have to wait anyway longer if you don't spend irl money and we didn't tell you about it.
