You can make content at most of the things.

so having a buffer means that if you are doing a move and press a button during that move it will "buffer" the button you press. It makes it so you don't have to precisely time each move

lots of new fighting games have a buffer system. Hold buffer just means that this only happens when you hold the button. Buffer makes it easier and is great for new players

Normally you would have to wait for that 2nd hit to end and then press the up normal move at the exact moment, but with buffer it gives you some time so you don't have to time it perfectly. exactly it will buffer a move sometimes if you spam it. if you have ever played smash and pressed a move then gotten hit when trying to shield and it buffers an air dodge or gotten to the ledge and pressed up special and it does get up attack that is a buffer system.

i love the amount you can change in the settings and choose if you want buffer or not because in some games i like it but in smash ultimate it is the bane of my existence

Can't wait until the competitive/ranked mode drops, so I can stop thinking about my MMR. Idk if the MMR system on MultiVersus works differently from other games, but it sucks. I just get sad when I see I dropped 500 placements by losing a match, sometimes getting 3 ringouts even.

you win more if you destroy them. Quick 2 or 4 stock (depending on mode) and you get a lot. Same thing applies if you get destroyed though you can lose a lot. I have had games where I lost 40-60 from one best of 3 in doubles it sucks. I think it also might depend on what rank your opponent is at but don't quote me on that one. You deffenetly lose more then you win and it can be a struggle i know i am not a big fan of the mmr system as it stands. There is also something that can happen where you lose/gain mmr with only one character. For me it is glitched where i only go up/down when playing Lebron. Hopefully this is all worked out/made better when we get a real ranked mode.

If you are struggling to figure out a character to play or purchase, you're in luck.
Multiversus has a solution just for that:

Go to "The Lab" and set yourself up a 1v1 match or a 2v2 match with a bot or a few bots.
In The Lab, you'll be able to pick whatever character you want to test them out and really get a feel of them.
Play on whatever map. Play with whatever perks. Test out whatever you want, however you want!

This can help save you from regretful purchases and wasted time sinks trying to grind for gold.
(Free rotations can also help, be patient with your decisions!)

All MMR is is how the automated matchmaking system sorts you for matchmaking. All games with attempted skill based matchmaking has a similar system even in their casual modes (which is what we have access to right now). The difference is those games don't aren't as transparent about the number involved.

The thing is we don't have an official source on exactly how it calculates this number for wins/loss/overall performance.

Ok so for hitting them you can do a couple things. First you can aim past them and not for them. This helps because if they air dodge away or run away you predict it and hit them anyways. The second thing is letting them come to you and slowing down gameplay. If you are always pressing buttons it can be easy to punish you. Wait and punish them.

Try to notice habits do they always air dodge in when you hit them or do they like to dash back before going for an attack. When you see these things take note and try to punish. Overtime this skill will just come naturally

Ok. So Steven is a bit stubby which can make it hard to hit some people so I get the struggle. He is very good though. Your air moves are great for trying to approach. good luck it just takes time especially if this is your first fighting game.

Shoot his batterang so he doesn’t get that tool. Use you insane slipperiness and survivability to your advantage. Basically just dance around him. It might be annoying or not as fun but you can play campy and wait for them to mess up and then punish with a big combo. Stay out of range of his down air and don’t challenge his up special if you are above him. Your axe has a busted hit box abuse that and combo it into shot/down air/ftilt/ really whatever you want. I don’t play much 1v1 but from the tons of morty I have played this works really well in 2v2 especially vs Batman.

Oh that is weird. I don’t know if that is a server problem. If you haven’t already you could try uninstalling and reinstalling the game. I know I had to do that once because I was stuck on the connecting screen.

If you are using an Xbox controller you can just plug and play. For any other sort you'll need to get drivers. Steam's big picture mode will allow you to download drivers for Playstation controllers and....I think the Nintendo pro controller as well? But if you are trying to play with a third party of gamecube controller or something you'll need to find a safe download for the controllers drivers
