As an inexperienced player in this type of game OVERALL he's extremely oppressive and doesn't really seem to make sense compared to others. I'd say if you're not comfortable throwing yourself into an actual match, play against a few bots first
it takes a bit to get used to knowing when to use what move, and in that case, I recommend you stick with one character until you understand that
but yeah I'd say best way to learn is to go into a match and just play, try not to spam and rather instead "placing" your attacks if that makes any sense
