I don’t think the concept had much to do with balance because when they started swapping character roles to different ones it didn’t come with big changes. Like Marvin’s update that I keep mentioning didn’t really come with core adjustments to what he did. He just kept doing what he does now. Same for taz except maybe they made him lighter but I don’t remember too well for him.

It’s a tradeoff. Spammier ones typically have cooldowns but you have exceptions like Marvin up air. Shaggys doesn’t need a cooldown because he has the limitation of summoning it and holding it as a held item which limits his moveset

I was playing arc raiders earlier, they ask for player feedback on how frustrating certain elements of the game is. Hmm now why would that be a good thing to know (frustration kills player retention as we know) but all I remember them actually "balancing" was actual death touch combos which never should even see the light of day, you can calculate these things if you know the code, and they clearly aren't "veteran" devs.

It’s kinda hard to talk about but a good example I guess we’re all the armor nerfs characters received. Armor used to last too long post whiff on moves and that got nerfed across the board for characters like Superman and Wonder Woman. That was based on player feedback
