Reused assets are what started the fall. They started getting rewarded for not trying and then we went the entire life of the game with stripe getting one skin unique to him, a bunch of snapchat filters, and two skins from when he was combined with gizmo. They made maps like beach, space, and gizmo's piano, they even turned a second reused asset from a wonder woman skin into a character and got similar reception to banana guard

If anything i think the ride or die people affirming every action killed the game more than any haters

This is kinda where I feel people start hating. you start at point A: banana took up a character slot that could have went to someone else. I point out why that is wrong and the character was done in a short time, they then move to point B: banana is a low effort asset flip without polish, and we will keep shifting points so they can keep finding reasons to hate on the game

Arguing over a character that ultimately feels fine to play and just wasnt a huge addition to the game but took minimal effort to include is silly. Game's monetization was garbage out of the box and after re release and it pushes people away

Opening a game and just having shaggy as playable without clear direct ways to unlock characters you want to play is an amazing way to make people go "ok im not bothering" then close the game.

and I know free week characters existed but that doesnt help either

And I still completed the rifts because I found the pve stuff fun. I actually wanted them to go back and unlock looney for the old rifts that don't have them but it seems we lose rifts in the shutdown anyway so it doesnt matter

I find it abysmal that people have to grind TF out of rift mode for the exclusive skin on a game that's ending its live service in less than 100 days . Also the gleamium we get for loot boxes is extremely dump. 10-15 is not enough to obtain few skin on a dying game.

If you played the old rifts as they came out there is no grind, they probably just didnt want to add new gems this season so they did the rogue rifts to use old ones. you can also just do lower difficulties.
