From the sound of it, this is probably snapback. Basically the stick doesn’t reset perfectly to the center when you let go of it, which can cause it to go in the opposite direction and buffer an input. If it’s REALLY bad, it can buffer multiple in a row.

Try lowering your input buffer in the settings and see if that helps. (Assuming you want to give it another shot)

Yes, MVS and Smash have the same inputs for all of their moves. The only difference is that the only chargeable attacks in Smash are smash attacks done by pressing A and a direction at the same time. And there are forward aerial and backward aerial attacks as opposed to just a side aerial
