Most of the issues with multiverse is not necessary the devs fault . Poor leadership , lack of man power and greedy monetization which could been like marvel rivals with free chars . Wb needing to hire devs during beta and full release of the game was red flag . We had no real community manager to represent the community either or speak on our behalf . Ppl wanted the game to feel completely new and refresh after the beta which they could have if they worked on the game longer and focused on certain priorities . Even nick brawl 2 was quite the upgrade from first game

Ive noticed in the bell curve of ranked 1v1 that in the beginning and end, people are slow and methodical in their movements, and usually run away or get combod to death, with the middle being a lot of sweating in general

Once they got bought by Warner, the decision on which character is released was made purely by higher ups, and, given how out of touch with the community and money hungry they are, they probably thought "lets release according to our schedule on comics and movies for self promotion". This, combined with the fact we only get 2 characters per season resulted in this mess of releases. Thou, at least the characters were decently designed (not counting ballance).

As for the changing of the mechanics, well I can't say for sure (don't know why or how the jump from UE4 to UE5 is done), but, since WB is involved, I guess they pushed towards an ultra casual experience to widen the public and thus, slowing the game speed and making it so sloppy on release.

PS: I'm not defending anyone, but for me these seem as the major reasons as for why the game went down so bad when comparing the beta to the full release. I'm sure the inexperience on these kind of games worked against PFG too. However, out of scope expectations and decisions from a company that has been having failure after failure is something hard to ignore and point as the main reason.
