You can’t fundamentally change tons of characters cause they all have annoying moves. Shields prevent them from spamming the move. Shaggy(while heavily neglected from patches sometimes) is supposed to be a good starter character. He should be able to keep his kick, but people do sometimes spam it. A lot. Shield helps to block that and make them actually do a shield breaker. Same goes for samurai jack side special, black adam clap, etc.

You actually can change a lot of these moves, most of them could’ve been more laggy so throwing them out would be more riskier, it’s literally doing a smash patch man it isn’t that hard, but the thing is that most of the characters had janky stuff so ofc it’s gonna be a lot to change but if they would’ve actually done that then they would have no reason to add these unnecessary mechanics like shields which again a game like multiversus doesn’t need

2 : Even if this would have been a solution adding a shield in a game that wasnt made for it at all is the woest idea possible. That change fundamentaly the game in a bad way. There is no grab button for example so they had to add this weird break shield button tvat is too slow to be used

Multiversus was never designed to have shields, you can’t just add a mechanic like that and act like it’s gonna fix the game it has to be FOR THAT GAME, if they wanted shields in this game then they should’ve done that in the beta, adding it just because the community thought it was a good idea was just dumb 😭
