The melee meta isn't settled, near bottom tier characters like Yoshi or DK are now considered strong and either have or will be winning super majors at some point.

Regardless of that though the context around a low skill ceiling game with everyone in S tier with 0tds and free early kills is very different from only a handful of characters being competitive at the highest level. If you are getting dominated by a Fox its much much much more the player than the character, in this game its not the case.
