I think the biggest problem is the nickel-and-diming. That reputation hurts the game overall.

I do like the game, though. I just wish there was a base, "pay a normal price" version that just...gave you most of the stuff. All the fighters, all the banners, etc. Can still charge extra for the skins (at a reasonable price, please) because those take extra work to make.

I say this as someone who is part of the problem, admittedly. But, like, I've seen people avoid this game purposefully because of the monetization.

The problem is this game isn't finished in any regards besides the characters move sets. It's fundamentals are flawed and broken. The game netcode is better but still many issues still, ui is crappy, senseless grind, rank torture system, too many currencies, characters unlock.
