whenever I try play Season 1 in Rifts, any character I try play as glitches out. Unable to move from where they stand and their attacks do not damage. They also do not move when dodging and can still be hit when dodging. All I can do is be hit off the edges and fall to my doom.

1: The bloody servers. The servers do not have any reason to be so laggy and so stupid. I tried playing Gizmo in a game and I was lagging so bad I couldn't hit that Samurai Jack with ANYTHING while he combo'd me without me even having a chance to dodge. A character I can't play...

2: You have to pay $5 for a character for the first 60 days. Samurai Jack seems like a cool character but I'm doing badly right now financially and I don't have $5 to spend on Samurai Jack as he DOMINATES right now is just really stupid. Give f2p a chance at playing them. An example is ONE thing OW2 does right. Battle Pass characters were unlockable to F2P players so they could get them. THIS IS NOT THE CASE! Also, when you do get the ability to purchase them they are twice the price, and to get onto my next bullet point

3: Fighter Currency. You're telling ME that I can't get characters AT ALL unless I level them up or level myself up which takes time instead of damage or wins or ANYTHING. Just time. I unlocked 3 characters during this launch. I got Gizmo with the currency from the Milestones. I got fighter currency from the Battle Pass I got for the beta which I bought Morty Smith with. I had to level up characters for AGES to unlock IG and Batman. Also, they're doing this thing that I can't buy superman with fighter currency instead I have to get MEDALS?? Can someone fill me in on HOW to get those medals?? I'll still have to do that Fighter Currency thing again for Velma. Even though she's terrible, a segway to my next talking point.

4: BALANCING!! The game has such POOR balancing! You're telling me Lebron James got his only dodgeable combo removed because it was "to much" while giving Black Adam the ability to float to the side of the stage for 2 minutes. Characters like Velma were NERFED to the ground and when characters get a loop like Iron Giant they get taken away from EVERY SINGLE mode and unable to be played, an awful way to work on characters.

I’d love to know what up with hit boxes/dodges. Is it cause of lag & latency? Literally seen video proof on Reddit of people dodging an attack and still getting hit by the end of the same single (not multi) attack animation and the player only was inputing movements after they dodged “successfully.” Happens waaaaay to often and it’s honestly disgusting jankness

Yeah it is the first time because in season 1 and at the beginning of season 2 everything was going well for me and I would not be complaining if it is because literally every match the same thing happens to me and in addition to that they suspend me for 30 minutes, even 1 hour they suspend me and I can't play anything online and it's annoying and frustrating because I can't progress, but forget about it, let's see what they bring in the mid-season patch

Anyone have connection issues when facing playstation players? Everytime I come across ps players, 90% of the time my attacks are dodged but when I try to dodge their attacks I barely have success. As well connection seems to go to crap and its just a whiffing nightmare.

I have good wifi, it’s very inconsistent, I can play a whole day and have no lag where other days I get lag every single match through out different times of the day and that’s not playing with friends just random 2v2 ranked/random matches (which is all I play).

When I play with friends (which use wifi and Ethernet) I get lag almost everytime every match. But there’s also days when I play with them and get no lag at all OR I play a few matches with no lag then every match after that there’s lag no mattter what you do (reset router/reset steam/etc)

So that does not sound like a wifi/internet problem

Does anyone have an issue where they are constantly disconnecting every 2 or 3 minutes. Even sitting in the menu I get kicked to a "Disconnected" screen without fail after 2 minutes. Can't do a single rift mission without crashing before completing it, if I manage to queue into a PVP match before disconnecting I can play it, but the moment we get back to stat display I get kicked out with a "disconnected"

I learned about Nagle's algorithm today and how disabling it decreases packet loss in online games with the downsides only affecting those who disable it with slow internet. I'll see if the lag hag calms down a bit over the next few days (probably not).

Crashed two times.
And have had occasional stutter in my movements. I run to try and dash attack, only for my movement to stop and resume sporadically.

The first happened today.

The second has been happening since last season. And what’s weird is that my internet’s been the same since season 1 and I never encountered stuttering like that at all.

As a 1000 Hour Reindog player I thought I'd share my experience with the netcode so far for season 1-3! (From a Wi-Fi perspective, Wired isn't an option for a lot of people!)

Season 1 was a little rocky, but it got better at the end! I personally enjoyed seeing the progression from Connection Failed to a Playable Experience!

Season 2 had me a little worried, I was experiencing a bug where my inputs would lock up and lead me falling off the stage, I could see my Reindog struggle to turn backwards while he's running off the stage! Was very disappointed to see rank loss due to this bug. I tried to find any root cause for this from my install location to network congestion, but I simply couldn't figure it out! It was especially odd since I remember almost flawless connection through Wi-Fi during all of beta and most of Season 1!

Now we are at Season 3, and I could not be more disappointed, every match starts up with a sped-up countdown, when I do get to control my character I get constant freezes where my character will stop moving but still show me inputting movement and attacks, and im left wondering what went wrong?

When I see gameplay from people who make those cool clips that they post on twitter, I always wonder to myself "This gameplay looks completely different from what I'm getting, which is weird since I haven't changed anything since BETA, I guess they are having a hard time optimizing the packets for people who play on Wi-Fi!"

The Wi-Fi community is having a serious issue thats been persistent since around the start of Season 2 that has either not gotten recognition, or is being shafted due to the new changes that are being made!

Save us, PFG!

My reason for not being able to be wired is The modem and router is down the hall from my room and can’t/won’t be able to be moved and I won’t be able to have a long cord go all the way there plus I don’t have “cable” in my room so that’s also the issue BUT my wifi is very good and never have problems playing any other multiplayer game

but I feel as if its malformed into something much worse
(people have explained how those settings wouldn't break netcode, but I really do think they play a part)

People might not have access to a wired internet connection for many reasons.
Many people live in apartments or dorms where the landlord does not offer each resident a wired connection and they all just share wifi
Many buildings simply do not have the wiring ran through the walls or to each room because of age or other infrastructure reasons
Some modern laptops and devices are built without Ethernet ports

Did some non-ranked 1v1's, it was fine. Then moved to Ranked 1v1, lots of input delay in the first person I get matched to, so I concede. Get matched to someone else, our first two games are fine, the third has lots of input delay. I do not like this...

They need to fix this asap. Literally an entire week of unplayability. And ik it's not my internet. I am lan connected and nothing else is using my internet. "Top of the line netcode" is the biggest marketing scam i think i've heard from this game. Entire seconds of input lag, moves not coming out / insane misinputs that have never happened before, and my opponenet teleporting everywhere making it literally impossible to play

I seem to be having less netcode issues on my new computer and since the bug report site is down I'll explain my hypothesis as to why here, my previous computer only had a 6 core CPU processor when the PS4, the Xbone, and most modern PCs have 8. The game actually crashed due to the lag so I'm assuming there are lag prevention precautions in Multiversus that expect you to have 8 or more cores in your CPU for functionality. I also assume since lag is more common on PS4s and Xbones than PS5s and Series Xes that the netcode just isn't well optimized.

I found the netcode lags less when the firewall is completely disabled, kind of odd that putting an exception for MultiVersus isn't enough for it to be satisfied.

Getting wildly different input delay from matches against the same person just makes me wanna uninstall lol. Like first match has only 4 frames of delay, then the second match has 13 frames of delay, not fun. I don't really know how this stuff works but I'm guessing the server we're playing through is different per-match and sometimes it's a lot further away...

absolutely true, I can be mean sometimes with some of my responses but Jesus, this is awful. Netcode and crashing needs to be their number 1 priority. If they fix the game and its issues and stop even focusing on new characters some youtuber will make a video and then it will have a domino effect and people will start playing again. Devs need to get their priorities straight if they don't want this game to completely die and be pulled off the servers.

the first thing they can do in temporary is, make changes for RP system
If you notice it, if we win, we'll gain more than 20-40 RP iirc, so if we lose -10 RP because of crash, that won't a huge loss

If the mid-season update is any indicator, Multiversus has even less budget than it used to. All the stages are variants of pre-existing stages or reuse assets from the bonus nodes in rifts. The new mode is just a bunch of match modifiers that either were or will be used in the rifts mode. I wouldn't expect PFG to get anything done that would make this game truly special with Zaslav breathing down their necks.

I don’t think budget has anything to do with it, I think it was just easy for them to put in this extra stuff to give us more stage variety cuz we definitely need it.

I’m sure they’re still working on more other stages and modes and what not for future seasons
