Listen, I've been seeing a lot of negative comments here when it comes to the netcode. I'm on Xbox, and I've experienced a LOT of desync issues day one prior to the first two patches. I will say first patch didn't really do anything. But second patch was a much bigger difference.

I don't desync but maybe 15 times tops out of my day, and that's if I'm taking a whole 8 to 12 hour day grinding the hell out of it. Idk if these issues are specific to different areas you live in, or even if it depends upon your internet providers, but I would say your best bet is to check your download/upload speed, and hope that your internet is up to par with your opponent's. Otherwise, I'd say the random desyncs are still due the netcode not handling the amount of people playing everyday

The intended purpose of this particular Server Channel is mute now that we are out of the Beta period. P1stG had no idea how their initial client or server setup would handle the game during that period. Plus... UE4's was less than ideal for online compaired to UE5.

It's not to say some tweaks here or there are not needed. It's just that there's no shortage of PS4 and XBox Series S players still active. In time, issues will likely be just limited to them. In the mean time P1stG is making major pushes to do what they can and those on modern hardward are noticing big bumps.

yeah. a toggle for region lock in the settings would be a win for everyone. if you dont want to play with the world because of connection issues. turn on the lock, then you will only be matched with others with the option on in your region. and you can turn off region lock if you want to play with others outside your region.

Honestly I think the decision to "just make the game wait" for people whose connections suck so bad it takes 30 seconds to load was a bad one.

Seriously anytime a match takes relatively an hour to load I know it's going to be "two friends" spamming the same moves in latency 5000 while my character randomly teleports across screen.

I use to care about my perfect 100% kill record, but now the second I get these matches I just suicide so I can move on with a good match.

How come there is no options to block these bad connections? My fiber line shouldn't feel like 56k.

After the 1.05 update, the netcode and servers feel a lot worse for some reason

cross regional play used to not only be possible, it used to run REALLY WELL

I could play from South America with people all the way in Europe, and the netcode was borderline magic with how well it worked

I don't know what they did on 1.05 but it feels like a downgrade

you have a lot of rubberbanding, MASSIVE rollbacks and desyncs every other match, even when playing on the same region

and it seems to be a lot worse when on crossplay, for some reason, whenever there is a console player in the lobby, it seems to prioritize the console player, even if they are in spectator mode

last week, I was in a bracket against an NA player, we were both on PC, and on our end, it was rubberbanding like crazy, but the spectator POV (who was on console) looked normal

I don't know if it's an issue with the addition of spectator mode

or if it's a problem with crossplay

but it might be worth looking at, because cross region tournaments no longer feel possible (which is a shame because they used to be)

me and @lusty garden are doing co-op rifts, same region, literally like an hour drive from each other irl, so probably same server, let alone same region, and we cannot finish a single match, pvp, pve, custom, nothing, without being desync'd within a minute or two. I'm on PC (steam) and he's on PS5, but I've played with other players on PC (altho on Epic not Steam) and I get the same result. Not only does it desync every match without fail, I get about 3 crashes per hour of playing this game. It is not my hardware, because I can run more intensive games with more people on the same server just fine (i.e. GTA Online with a 20 player lobby, works fine)

3 main problems,
1.game freezing, mostly after a hit the game will just freeze and itll unfreeze when ive either ran off the stage or on the other side of the map,
2.no hitstun, my attacks have visibly hit my opponent and the damage is registered yet there is no hitstun, messing up combos and punishes
3.complete loss of control over my character, no input i put in works, i either run off in one direction, start jumping over and over or just stand still and no input is being registered at all

also dodges feel terrible, a couple times it would show the little dodged icon but then itll stutter for a microsecond and then the attack is registered as a hit and sometimes give a mix with what i mentioned in number 2

After many matches, I have come to an educated guess as to why the netcode bugs out. I noticed the only two things that lock your inputs and increase the amount of network resources being used are this bug and a feature that speeds up the match to get you up to speed if you're lagged too far behind. This makes me assume that something about the activation or deactivation of the speed up match function is not working as intended. If you want PFG to see this guess I'd recommend you upvote the comment I posted with this prior sentences on this issue.

That's their servers struggling. Happens frequently and you know it's on them because it should be smooth for any players that aren't lagging, but typically when that happens every player will get stuck with whatever input they had pressed at the time the lag hit for the duration of how long the server crapped out.

Its been pretty bad since launch and slowly getting worse with each update safe to say this wont be the focus for a mid season patch

According to bug reporting, there are 202 bug reports that are in investigation progress, that'll be good thing if they can finish them all when they release the next patch, focus on the trend, step by step
