I feel it would be good if the devs brought back the old dodge cancelling to reintroduce skill expression in combos - it would (according to the new meter) only allow two per combo but would open up so many new routes considering that, since the full release, most characters’ kits seem to have become way too linear in terms of comboing (e.g. Finn now can only rlly hunt for up tilt -> nair -> fair -> bag for kills early, leading to a more boring game for both the Finn and the guy who has to sit there and deal with the fishing)

Yeah no problem, some variation of that combo will work on every cast member except for the iron giant, some might need a dair into nair to start, some might need 4 chains of the jab dash turnaround, but it should work on every character besides giant

It’s a tight string, you need to change directions immediately after dashing. Some characters are harder to hit though, you need to be right on top of Harley for the second jab to connect and Arya will just not get hit by it sometimes just for fun. The games incredibly large buffer system should allow you to buffer a turn around jab pretty far in advance. I do use a controller though, which makes it much easier. I’ll try and recreate the inputs on keyboard when I get back from work this evening. The dashes are grounded directional dodges,

Yeah no problem! The biggest issue I ran into is when doing the variation that I did on Finn, a lot of characters can parry the dair into nair at the beginning, and a lot of characters can parry the second one too, I’m gonna look into making those more consistent tonight. I use the joystick for hitting jabs, it makes the motion way easier. All attacks are handled with the right stick and movement with the left so I don’t have to worry about flicking the stick super quickly to get the right direction.

The main combos I have found start with his front 3 hit attack. On the second hit you then do a down attack, before following it up with,
1: Up Special on the Ground then jump forwards for a Foward Aerial.
2: Up Attack then followed up by Up Special or Up Aerial
Another combo line is 2 foward attacks, then side special either fowards or backwards for positioning.

That can't work on every character. Up special doesn't connect on lighter (smaller) characters after up attack and percent/weight heavily influences what you can follow up with after down attack. For example you can follow up down attack with additional side attack 3-hit string against another Jason. I also haven't found much in the way of consistent up special follow ups, the character would be truly busted if you could.

I actually just figured out his aerial neutral special can follow up since it gives you a ground bounce, useful for something like instant aerial (diagonal up left or right) neutral special for edge guard or tech chase. If you dash after landing the grab you can land other moves.

For garnet if you can ever get a normal attack in, always end with a down hit, followed by robo projectile, if you get the perk where ppl get extra dmg on collison it helps her dmg, ignite perk is also great passive dmg

I use medal to clip. You just need to set a bind to clip the last 30 secs, no need for a recording software. You could also set it to record, but I personally have it on clip to save space

her lassos lets her set up combos with a ranged attack that hits close far and has a late hitbox and her recovery is so big that she can just wait for your dodge and then keep jugglibng you
