I think just half the moves being coded literally to attack left and right (and then having plenty of options to keep attacking in those directions) is what the main issue I see with this game is rn. They tried to make half the attacks like a FG and not a platform fighter. Just WAYY too linear. (At first at least, probably since OR id say this started) And they keep adding stuff like grounded tech bounce to bridge the gap. But I think this is the reason why the game has been like this for sometime and chars having insanely broken loops is a testament to that statement. If pfg tried to make the game more like smash (an actual decent PF) and followed suit to their mechanics, this game would be sooo much better. At least put better DI in eventually and lower the damage input of like 50% of the attacks
