It's not really that much slower. It just looks that slow because of the hitstun

Yeah I was about to say something similar. The animation speed looks about the same. Only differences I could visibly notice was:
- Gizmo's jump looks a bit more weighty in the twitter clip
- There seems to be a bit more hitstun on the down air and the arrow move
- There is a lot more hitlag overall (hitlag is different from hitstun btw)
- After the 2nd down air, the speed at which Superman goes downward is a little slower than expected I guess?
All in all, comparing the tweet clip to the discord recreation, it doesnt seem like the attack speed or animation speed changed much at all, but the hitstun and hitlag stuff makes the pace of the combo feel a bit slower.

I guess I kinda see what you mean. I think that attack in particular would feel more natural if the last hit actually launched the opponent a bit or sent them into a tumble state rather than keeping them in place.
And I'm assuming the extra hitstun on these various attacks was added to make non-killing attacks better at comboing.
I dont want the game to just become a combo exhibition, but it will be nice having more attacks that can reliably start and continue combos.
The combat changes probably also means that dodge canceling wont be necessary as often as before to make combos true.
Though Im just speculating of course.

Isn't it the hitstop that's changing in the edit, and not the hitstun? Hitstun is the amount of frames that the character is unable to act after getting hit, hitstop is the small freeze frame moments that happen right when an attack connects. Hitstun affects what combos are and aren't possible (longer hitstun allows for more time to continue a combo) whereas hitstop doesn't have any direct influence on gameplay and is mostly just there to help sell the impact of an attack.
Regardless, I think based on what we've seen so far, I would like for them to maybe tone down the amount of hitstop on the "regular" attacks while keeping it the same for the "big attacks".
I think a change like that would not only help with making the game feel a little bit faster like how a lot of fans want, but it would also help to better convey which moves are meant to be the "killing moves".

Fair, they're pretty much just punching bags currently.
Theoretically a bot should be able to beat a human in every scenario, tricky part is designing said bot. We'll see what the devs do about it

Basically I found this really good way to grind the battle pass. Essentially what I did was
- Play Arcade Mode on Easy mode
