I don't think a game has ever made me feel bad for being poor in my life, I don't have money but I have time for the games I like, and over time I save up money to be able to buy a battle pass, some skin every few seasons, and put up with the paywall for a battle pass, because I know I don't have the money.

But I never thought that in multiversus after 3 seasons they would put a second paywall, the battle pass won't even give you the fighter now you'll have to pay for it if you want to enjoy the new season at the same time as everyone else, or wait multiple days to even start the intense grind to be able to try out the "new" character, but as far as unlocking the character goes it feels like a F YOU for being poor.

Day 1 of the new season and FR is not a great change. The grind seems to be just as long, if not longer, compared to stacking FC but now you cant pick who you want. Very unwelcoming to new players wanting to get in for free.

Was a Finn main switched to Marvin. Came back to try Finn he feels really crisp after update very nice to play love how u balanced him. Arena mode in practice is great had no idea what I was playing until the end but it was fun until after destroying the whole time and 80 hp left with 1 team at 16 my tm8 kept killing himself over and over no idea y and then we placed second so that sucked but game mode was pretty great

So i went in on my alt psn, shaggy and bg you get free. The first 2 characters are only 6250. And ive already got 4000 fr xp for finishing the tutorial. They have a bunch of other easy tutorial missions for what looks like another 5 or 6000. And you get 15k at login for 7 days.

So you get like 4 characters for basically nothing if youre truly new. Not bad

It's more of a battle royale.
Every time you lose your team loses HP until there's only 1 team with HP left

You also get random power-ups to buy between every match, they are pretty cool imo.
You also win Prestige points for getting good placements in Arena, so that's good for some people.

Me too and allow me to change perks and not have only 3 presets i can pick. not many choices when you have that many perks. Old BP with 70 ranks and character, think after half way the BP characters should be able to buy with FC when the mid season one comes out. I have no issue that. FC come back but a little more fruitful with it.

i spent money on this game during the beta. defended it when they released it and slowed down the gameplay. i kept telling my friends "oh, they're making it better a little bit at a time". but now i feel like an idiot for ever having hope for this game

From an outside perspective, there's a lot of good things going on with it. I've played platform fighters for like 15 years and I'm pretty pleased with the experience. It's rough around the edges for sure, but it's fun. In terms of balance, pretty much every platform fighter has pretty big issues with that.

Seems to me like the developers had good intentions, but they work for a tyrant parent company that forced them into some pretty predatory stuff.

But yeah, the fighter road thing isn't great that's for sure. Not a fan.

same here. i do like the gameplay. i like a lot of things about the game. that's why i played it and defended it for so long. but as they update it, i like it less and less. i do know that PFG is owned by a terrible company. who is probably pushing them to make these stupid decisions. but that doesn't take away from the fact that these stupid decisions get implemented into the game, and create a worse experience for the player, thereby making it a worse game. and it makes me sad

because i used to really love this game

For what it's worth, I imagine it makes PFG sad too. Hopefully it all works out in the end. I just came back, been gone since the start of season 2. Enjoying myself quite a bit, would like to see things turn for the better.

Raven seems very cool, it's unfortunate that I can't play her. The funny part about it is that while I don't have any interest in spending money on the character, if she was free I'd be pretty damn tempted to buy that white outfit she has. I seems a bit too greedy to me, but I'm probably not the target for their business model.

Typically speaking most people don't spend a lot of money when things cost that much, but the few whales that exist make it far and beyond worth it anyhow. The issue is, this is a fighting game. I don't think many whales play fighting games, at least not in comperison. If they do they're probably not whaling nearly as much.

It seems like they plugged in a business model for a game genre that's never really experienced it, just to see if it would explode.

I agree, but we're beyond that point now. Consumers aren't buying games with their heart in hand. They want to see something stand up to the competition. I think multiversus is great, but I personally don't think it's great for the amount of content. I think they did their best with it and it's acceptable. Like I said though, I love the character choices on their end and the voice acting is great.

It's no different than WoW. You don't see other MMOs succeeding because people care that they're new and doing their best. Monopolies exist and they make it very hard for others to break into the industry with profit. Very few people care about what a game succeeds at on an individual level, they compare it to what's out there.

Games like Final Fantasy 14 do well because they attract a different player base due to individual strengths. I think Multiversus has a lot of strength in nostalgia that covers a time not many games do. The characters are wonderful.

I'd argue it's balanced by the fact that you can indefinitily grind it just by playing PVP. It's essencialy winning 10-30 of the old fighter currency on each match, and that's not taking toasts into acount.

For the damage ones it’s easier to do it one at a time so you can keep track of the amount of damage you’re doing.

Rifts are such a big part of the game. The BP Xp gains really add up over the season too. Definitely reccommend getting through them and at least playing the daily bonus ones to level up gems

Its all i use them for are the 750 i just do the first stage and farm that to finish the weekly mission that require like 1k dmg for a looney tune. well doing the first stage is that easiest and fastest way so that the only rifts i play but trying to play more this season for the events anyway

The fighter road grind is a LOT more tolerable. I wish that you could choose which character to unlock and that you could stockpile the fighter road exp to save for later when a new character comes out like you could with fighter currency instead of it going towards the battlepass, but I think it's overall an improvement

Honestly my main issue with raven right now is that there's very little ending on a lot of tools. It doesn't make her impossible to fight or anything, but it is a lot more annoying than it probably should be. Characters like joker and morty went from migraine inducing to very manageable ever since a lot of their attacks are actually punishable now, so I don't know why they still have this problem with newcomers.

Raven gots to be the weakest character in the game literally have them at 145 and unless I hit the with a fully charge attack they are not getting rung out .

Pay attention to how every thing she does is projectile. So ignite Perk doesn’t work or brutis doesn’t either since they are malee. While every other character runs with those perks I’m getting rung out fairly easily and it takes them way longer to stack damage . O & Fin buys the orb around him and I can’t hit him with nothing!

Not counting play with a friend I think you can not do like 2-3 stars and get everything

But if you just do rifts with an online partner it’s really very easy to get them all

I only used rifts to do the weekly mission where i need do deal so much dmg, easiest place to do those and thats it for me, I figure this time i try to finish the events but when it get to the higher difficulties i wont bother cause i wont have gems high enough so i hate that

If gems didn't effectively reset each season it wouldn't be as bad but they do
yes you still have them but I doubt they will ever be used again

Cause im not a big fan of rifts i rather just vs people. Dont care for the mode but there a lot who do. Sucks i've missed out on so many events cause you had to have expert or higher for these rifts to progress. So im sure a lot of people like myself are not able to get those items or goodies cause we dont play rifts

I like rifts giving you these current rewards, since they’re a good extra thing but nothing to really feel and about not getting

Like the one extra demon coin just gets you a profile icon, a skin costs 2 so no huge loss not getting it

It doesn’t you have to hit him w a projectile then the malee symbol hovers over the opponents head meaning to malee and you can ignite them . Unless your running 2v2 otherwise it’s completely useless 1v1

I won't say I'm good or anything because I'm far from a top level player, but here's how I have a 90% win rate (it's lower on ranked but that's to be expected)

1. Pick a fun but OP character like Batman, Samurai Jack, or Agent Smith. This will hide a lot of the annoying things that will tilt you since you can deal with them as a top tier and your own BS, but you can also have fun being a menace and maybe pull off some custom combos.

2. This game has very limited options, especially for mobility and defensive play, so it's actually pretty easy to read people's bad habits because the game encourages them, so I would say look for a lot of those and punish accordingly, especially dodge reads.

3. If you see a Finn main be sure not to rematch because those despicable scum don't deserve i-

Raven is solid though. You have to plan your attacks and maximize her setups. She's not numbingly straight-forward like Shaggy

I mean anyone can get to masters if they put the time and effort in. As long as you have somewhat of an idea what your doing and you play semi constanly then you should be ok. For example, i dont play ranked at all but for fun i got to silver 4 or 3 in about 2 days in 1s with Velma. And shes garbage in 1s

and iirc you need to get gold for the skin and then of course as you get higher ranks the skin gets better looking ect
