Most people who are playing free platform fighters on PC don't have the option of playing Smash (legitimately). I agree, though, I liked the combo flow of the beta build. I don't care about cheese and spam, though, I just want the characters to be fun to use. Most characters in this game are patently less fun to use than any character in Smash because they're so limited. Fox's laser would be illegal in this game.

I think also devs trying to cater to casuals is a really big issue. I mean, look at Project: Playtime; I was one of the top players for that game, purely bc I had a brain and played other competetive games. When MOB tries to "balance" the game, they end up ruining it over and over again, while trying to cater to casuals instead of people who enjoyed the game for what it was: a fast paced movement based 1V7. Now, they're trying to completely wipe the movement aspect of the game, which as you could imagine makes it unbalanced as hell, and now I don't have much fun in it unless I'm messing around with friends or reverting my game to a previous version. I feel like if more devs expanded what something is instead of trying to mimic something else, they'd be better devs.

It's superior to a dodge because some moves have fast enough recovery that they can dodge out even if you dodge through their attack. A Parry is an absolute stun, they have to take damage.

Bruisers is overinflated because everyone's a bruiser now.

Being able to kill someone in just 2 or 3 hits is actually really serious, but for some reason they still want Iron Giant to be a combo character. 🙄 He's considerably less balanced than large characters usually are.

Played him for a bunch of matches, spammed his taser everywhere because it's basically his best move, I don't think I ever took self-damage. It could just be super inconsistent, though (or they changed it back in a patch or something)

Not that every move should kill but every move should totally have a reason to be used even shaggys sandwiches like not meant to be spammed but it's a great help to get in when against zoners

It's a pretty safe, relatively-long range move, I think it's fine. It's long enough to block most approaches entirely and it breaks armor, so the only thing the enemy can do is anticipate and dodge

Of course, if that same move was on Gizmo, it would probably kill at 70

Arya's up-special used to track perfectly, so her up-special to up-air combo was basically an autocombo (as well as the side-special teleport > up-special > up-air). Then they decided that was overpowered or unfun or something, so they, uhh... yeah >_>

the techs aren't that hard, the hardest parts of the game are resource management and limiting the opponent's options

Played some IG and boy howdy I ruined 1v1s and 2v2s. Still need some nerfs but they are fun

I think the hardest part of the game is reads. Most options feel like rock paper scissors unless you have an easy escape.
