The bots scale in difficulty with your character's level but you can clap the bots if you're good enough even when they're higher level. They're honestly really good practice before going against players if you're newer as well. The bots tend to be much more aggressive than players are half the time in my experience so that makes the matches way faster.

Not to mention sometimes their AI just gets fried and they let themselves die for some reason

As far as I got with this mechanic: he'll eventually make rings spawn on the map and once he has enough, he can temporarily become super and give himself and his teammate armor once he activates it. The teammate can also collect rings for him if he can't get to it and if collected enough, they can get armor as a reward.

SA2 Sonic with all the upgrades visible on him.

Riders version of him as a skin (could even make a emote where he has his hoverboard or whatever he uses.)

And most importantly:
Metal Sonic as a variant. Will have a couple unique voice lines and animations just like Cake and Shagworthy, but moveset doesn't change. Super form for him will actually be Neo Metal from Sonic Heroes.

For every move he can do there should be an obvious drawback so you don’t spam it or use it without strategy

And the rings being a resource would encourage you to collect rings so you can do more damage and even go Super. So like the games, he should have at least 50 rings to be able to go Super since he’d already have all the 7 Chaos Emeralds

The ideas for characters that can get in can be honestly infinite because of the nature of the game itself. Multiverse is practically in the title and you got characters from comics, TV shows and the like. This game can honestly be the Smash Bros of media

So basically all he needs are the 5 ring monitors that spawn on the map after he knockouts someone or they randomly spawn after he hits someone for a bit.

Every move will have a drawback obviously outside of attack decay as the moves encourage him to kind of take a bit of a backseat and let his teammate do a good chunk of the work while he helps in the background. Outside of the armor for the teammate if they help get rings, he kind of assists with their combos.
