well for the launcher i closed it then opend it agen whith the macOS equivilent of alt+f4
it worked fine without modrinth acount
now i get modrinth acount and hope it work

I loged out my minecraft acount from modirinth and joged it back in
the launcher part confused me because modded launcher
modded launcher has its own login
and minecraf acount linking and messing whith the linking is what was realy requierd

This was Modrinth misbehaving
If you want it fixed you need to tell the Modrinth people
