i just want to know what exactly does adding multiply and setting it to -1 in this sceanrio does? (img1 withmultipy)

attaching the different results i get by not using it (img2without).

i can see the difference in disintegration but i need a explanation why the multiply effects it in this way?
[its a exploded suzanne]

You set the minimum to -3.7 so the range of the random value is greater. The offset (displacement) should also increase in variation and it should be centered because some values are positive and some negative

# austere marlin any recommendation on how should one learn geo nodes?

Just watch a tutorial and try to replicate it or something similar without watching it. That way you can memorize which node does what. If you dont get something, take your time and try to understand why a certain node was used.
If you do that a couple of times you should know some nodes and when to use them. After that try to make something that uses most of the new found knowledge. If you are stuck go back to the video and skip to the part that explains it

If you have a method that works better for you, go for it. Thats the fastest way for me
