you could use a texture with a normal map perhaps. Or sculpt it with a stencil mask
id opt for the normal map approach
if I have black and white png Pic for the text can I convert it to a normal/displacement map in blender?
maybe use this https://www.smart-page.net/smartnormal/
or this with your B&W
(plug the colour of the image into the height socket)
It doesn't look good in bump node it isn't embossed enough
try increase the strength
you can type numbers larger than 1 in the box even though the slider wont let you
It doesn't go well with close up shot I'll try displacement map with subdivision
Will this help? https://youtu.be/y8iV2CEXFDQ
This is Part-5 of a 7-part series on various text effects in Blender. In this part, we will learn how to emboss a text on a round surface, like a cylinder, in Blender. We'll first bend the text, and then emboss the same on the cylinder. Please watch the video for the complete tutorial. It will help if you first watch the previous parts given bel...
i think it would be easier to just use booleans no?
@pure sphinx this is a great way to do it
Can leave bad geometry and that leads to bad shading so I personally avoid bools at all costs
I dont think it should be too big of an issue in this case
More intricate and organic shapes yes
We're going to have to agree to disagree on this one. The bottle surface needs to be smooth glass and I don't think the booleans will do it any favours. Not without a lot of work to fex geometry after
i agree to disagree to agree
