dlss on ultra performance with fsr3 frame generation on, all settings lowest except for global illumination on highest, and view distance to medium, my 3060 runs the game at 144fps like that (72fps and 144fsr frames) currently i have it running locked to 60fps right now while looking alot better than it does like that. but if just fps is what youre after those settings will boost performance alot. i do not like the look of the game with dlss and fsr on low settings though, looks like an old vhs home video.

right now running the game and cpu is 74c gpu 84c, when the game first came out i was running below 80c on both cpu and gpu just fine, game needs stability and performance improvements and if that means the update takes a while, im all for it.

I know absolutely nothing about game development but asking is not a sin and i love this game, would a small update with a similar, simple, choose your non customizable gun feature from counter strike be possible while we wait the remaining months for the loadout update now that is has been delayed again? Not being able to just use an m4 when i want to, after an year and a half from release, is getting a bit annoying, every type of gun has its own way to be played and going from a sniper without a scope, to a pump, to an smg, to an automated rifle feels so random LMAO

This loadout update has been in development for a long time and goes far beyond just choosing a weapon. Weapons, attachments, animations, and behaviors have been heavily reworked, and very little remains from the old system.

Using marketplace assets doesn’t automatically make a game an “asset flip”. That’s common in Unreal, especially for smaller teams. Assets are tools, not the whole product.

Creating high quality, photorealistic assets from scratch takes a massive amount of time and resources. Even if we want to move more toward original content over time, redoing everything from zero just for the sake of it would be inefficient and slow down actual progress. These assets exist and can be bought for a reason.

What really matters is the systems behind them. Networking, camera system, backend, weapon handling, upcoming loadout system, UI rework, sound design improvements, animation work all of that is custom development.

You can criticize pacing or content volume, that’s fair. But reducing everything to “asset flip” ignores a lot of the real work being done on the core of the game.

future maps will be much more different than the basic fab maps that can be found, even today, we did some adjustments to thoses maps so that they're not directly just slapped from their marketplace to the game, when this was done, the team was only luca and leo, only 2 devs, which aren't specialised in level design/modelisation, so the changes were rough yet necessary to make the maps enjoyable, now we have a team of level designer which made possible the addition of CQB, with a mix of already existing assets/fab assets, yet fully custom buildings and some unique assets made for it

we'll tend to go to this route, much more unique maps, yet still using assets, and we're not really trying to hide it, why would anyone remake something if it's already there and very good? especially for a small team, even though we expanded, we're still far from big studios

although, as previously said and you said it yourself, we're currently reworking a huge part of the game for this loadout update, so new maps aren't a priority, we're working on some, but the priority is toward this massive rework of the game!

If you are dlss capable turn it on to quality and it gives you only one other option right above it, I thing it has something to do with fps boost but put that on quality also. I have to run mine that way or anything that light hits in the distance is all fuggly looking

DLSS is Deep Learning Super Sampling - it upscales your resolution from a lower one to your native monitors resolution. It tends to work great especially with ultra quality - balanced and with dlss 4.5. however bodycam already has alot of grain and filters making the game look blurry enabling dlss makes this worse, i set my dlss to ultra quality for bodycam since i just use it as DLAA but the option isn't yet available on bodycam (DLAA is deep learning anti aliasing) so its like taa but its better but it can be more demanding on the gpu than taa but it looks better especially for bodycam)

depending on your specs if your running mid range 50 series or 40 series then id put a bit of frame gen on top of ultra quality dlss

im running a 5070ti and at max settings with ut dlss no frame gen the frame are around 80 - 130 fps

Sounds good but i don't think it would work that way when you have to overhaul the code in order to make new things possible, every new change would mess with what you did earlier it's like having to remove the foundation to a building but with people on the other floors. My problem is that before overhauling everything to make the ambitious things they want to do possible they could have thought about giving their customers the very easy, basic fondamental feature every fps has, choosing the gun you want to use, i don't even care about the attachments. So that we could actually interact with the game with the minimal sense of stability and freedom of choice required for it to feel like an actual game YOU are playing and not a tech demo you are just trying, (there are enought maps for it to feel like a game already) while they work hard on these ambitious, incredible things, then they could have scraped this simple old sistem out existed in the old version for the overhauled version like it never existed. Rn it feels like playing the half sword demo before the early access released if it had more maps, but i paid 30 bucks for it over a year and a half ago, at the same time, 30 bucks for the things they are developing sounds like an incredible deal so i'll just wait pretending i preorder it

Yeah im at 1440p ulrta quality dlss, cpu wise im using a ryzen 9 7900

And yeah i think on cqb it can drop lower than 80 sometimes

Most other maps are in that 80 - 120s 130s range

I mean I got the 400W vbios for my 5070Ti, I can keep it constantly at around 3225mhz, temps aren't too bad either unless I play on the backrooms map (the only map that really pushes my card to draw like 360W and at that point the cooler starts to struggle a bit, but most of the time I'm much closer to 300-310W which is fine), if I go outside on the CQB map I can see my FPS drop to like 57-60 especially near the bushes even at 4k with DLSS Balanced

can't wait to get several of the maps back in rotation. oilrig would burn up my cpu but i still like it, logistics was ok but too easy to camp, but tumblewood was a ton of fun hiding behind trees for cover and gave us a reason for some of the camouflage like the ghillie suit. i also want a second floor on hospital... lol

I hope they wake up and put some objectives and descriptions with the game modes. The answer they give for not doing so is wanting the player to be immersed and figure shit out on their own but as there are zero clues there is about a 0.0001% chance that your average gamer is all on their own going to figure out walking to a certain place and waiting there while killing hoards of enimies coming at them for a very slow boss to get there making something vital for game progression spawn in that particular spot and then the randos that joined your lobby and killed said guy too soon while you scream into your mic not to are defended for their ignorance. But it's ok for the little bit of time I can find to play a dang game to be completely wasted. There are still loads of people who think that the purpose of asylum is just to try and survive for as many rounds as they can not realizing that if you complete some objectives you can walk out the door you first spawn in at..... A little research never hurt anybody

Gun Game is already explained well cuz its simple.....but all modes need that detail, it might be a bit more detailed but its doable. Why make players fight the game to play it.

I've accepted it for what it is. We, as a whole, as a society, have allowed the bar to be lowered so drastically in so many different ways, that you cannot take anyone at their word or expect the kind of quality from days long past. We live now in a time of excuses and are told to take what we are offered and be happy about it. As a consumer we have allowed this to progress to the stage it has by continually buy and except subpar quality and by doing so you only train those providing those products to see just how low they can go. And how dare you hold anyone to their word? Who could ever meet such high standards as simply forefilling the words that came from their "mouths"?

Yeah, just look at unrecord. They posted close to over 3 years ago and they haven't even thought about updating a possible release date and they seemed to be further ahead

I'm not a fan of the comparisons to unrecord, mainly due to they're different teams, different budgets, different games so

It isn't realistic to compare thm

Unrecord also has funding from TGF granting them several million for development, it has no investors, medium sized team of experienced devs from many different backgrounds, and never intended for their project to blow up or succeed

Unrecord went silent with communications on purpose so they don't build expectations or consumers get the wrong idea which is the responsible but difficult decision to make

Bodycam was a passion project intended to take the bodycam aesthetic of unrecord and turn it into a multiplayer fps, and with the developers original lack of experience, alot of mistakes which hindered progress early on were made with optimization, networking, use of assets, etc, and because so many got the game expecting it to be amazing, expectations were huge

Bodycam was made at the same time as unrecord tho iirc

One of my favorite parts of the game is being forced to really focus on your shooting because in real life you have to use the sights you have and if you don't not hold, aim, and squeeze your trigger correctly you're more than likely to miss your intended target. Almost all the games out the have a dot you put on the target and you push a button or key and it falls over so I actually appreciate the shooting mechanics. I do not appreciate the bots that can instantaneously while running or spinning hip fire a one shot head kill shot from 30-50 yards away but that is what it is and can only be hoped for future address.

It would be nice if they would silence your own footstep sounds. In real life you can distinguish hearing others moving but in the game your own have a weird echo effect at times that makes you think somebody is close. That or somebody that happens to be a floor beneath you sounds like they're right next to you....

Yes these kinds of experiences really ruin it for others, we need some serious quality of life improvements such as host migration, host kick after X amount of tk, and kicked players can't rejoin. Those would keep bad actors to a minimum and improve player experience greatly imo

Is there going to be a texture quality increase for guns and characters next update? I understand that a whole map would need lower textures for optimisation, but for guns and operators? My guns look like blurry bricks and my operators skin is like plastic. It breaks immersion and would surely not be too straining on pc's if you increased the texture quality.

Host leaves game and in ends, If u have a good connection and intend to play for a while, host your own lobby.

I play usualy only DM, host with NO BOTS and the smal paintball map as first round and before the round is over your server is full and most will stay as long as u keep playing.

But dont do this if u intend to drop mid game for have to go afk all the time, for the pure reason u mentioned. 🙂
