Whenever there's a flashlight where the barrel of the gun blocks out a portion of the light, and you can see the shadow of the barrel, it is grainier than a camera from 1970.

Game looks fine otherwise, after looking around more and experimenting, it's just the shadows that look awful.

Less noticeable with regular shadows, but it is glaringly bad with the flashlight.

Long story short though, shadows especially those casted by your gun's light, are incredibly grainy and look like shit.

Try that first. Simplest thing.

You may need to do a few other more involved things if this does not work. NVIDIA and crashes are common for UE4 and UE5 games....especially Bodycam for some reason.

Uninstall Bodycam folder in Steam Apps
2. Uninstall Bodycam from Steam
3. Clear Nvidia Shader Cache
(YouTube it)
4. Clear DX Shader Cache (YouTube it)
[Reinstall DX12 (Optional)]
5. Use DDU to Uninstall Nvidia Drivers (YouTube it)
6. Download Nvidia Drivers from website and Reinstall.
7. Reinstall Bodycam
Play as normal, lots of Shader caching will happen and a few crashes as they rebuild but after that crashes will be 90%? fixed.
Nvidia plus UE4 & UE5 hate old shaders and other data that lingers from old drivers.

I'm having a small graphics issue with the game. Despite setting everything to maximum (motion blur and HDR disabled), the rendering is pretty awful when I'm inside a building and looking outside. Like on a Russian building.

And I'm nowhere near a clean result. As soon as there's a bit of distance, it's blurry, there are artifacts, and it flickers a bit. What can I do to improve it? Thanks.

Maaaann.....jumped in a game that was at lvl 15 and managed to communicate with some one so I could start closing doors. Got most the basement locked up and a good portion of the upstairs then they left me undefended trying to close the cell doors in the basement at level 22. I just couldnt get across for one person to hang back and one to go in the hall and point out any cell door that was open. The damn lighting sucks and you cant really see them all sometimes.

In zombie mode on the Asylum map the objective is to contain them to do that you gotta activate the generators and stay alive until wave 10 when they give you access to the elevator. Then you take the elevator to the basement where there is a camera control room. In that system it lets you see the cameras but there has to be a player in the area of that camera to be able to operate it....when you are operating it you can point it at the doors that open and close. You have to close all of the doors in the basement and the whole house. So you need a camera operator, some one to protect the camera operator ( because you can't shoot your gun or run when operating that system so someone must guard you from the one door you cannot close in the basement), and the other players have to sacrifice themselves by running around and activating the cameras so all the doors can be closed. Apparently once you close all the doors you can walk out that door where you first spawn into the game

I hear ya. I was watching YouTube videos where guys are soloing the village map and they are getting into the mine while its still daylight out. I can't even get to the windmill before it starts getting dark and have never made it to the rope bridge before its pitch black out. Not to mention there are barely any zombies attacking the guy in the graveyard while he has full light advantage but for me I have to fight off runners coming from 3 or 4 different directions in pitch black. So im pretty sure the guys putting videos out are either on a beta version or have a dev code for easy mode because not once do I ever get the gravy setup they are showing

There's all kinda things going on. I understand in deathmatch free-for-all that you're going to just spawn anywhere, tho I am really tired of being spawned with my back turned to something and im dead in 2 seconds, but team deathmatch is even impossible to clear anywhere as an enemy will be spawned right behind you. The damn SKAR doesn't even have a sight and the dot is like an inch over top the end of the barrel. Half my deaths in the last public deathmatch I was dead 2 seconds after spawning before I could even look around in a circle. I really hate taking the effort to actually clear areas and not run around blindly just to be killed by something behind me where I didnt even hear a foot step. And footsteps need to be worked on as well....you shouldn't have to struggle to hear iver your own and a lot of times someone is above or below and it sounds like they are right next to you. Great potential but they are dragging ass on a lot of different things that ruin it overall

I agree, considering people are PAYING for this game. Often though, the Devs do not play their own game enough to understand the simple things that could be fixed easily. Playing/testing in the Editor is like playing with blinders man.

I guess my biggest peeve outside of no sights and not being able to pick a weapon at the start is the superman vision of the AI, I hate that more than all the campers who hunt for a hole and wait the whole game. They seemingly know exactly where you are and are sometimes firing before youre even in their sight while coming around a corner at full gallop to hipfire a head shot. That and spawning you right in front of someone. I live getting killed before I can even turn my laser on lol

Quick clarifications:

Spawns: We’re aware they’re rough right now and not in a good state. It’s being discussed.

Audio: A large part of the audio system is currently being reworked and improved (including footsteps and vertical audio).

AI: Bots are clearly not smart enough right now. They will receive a proper upgrade and tuning.

unrecord: Bodycam was never meant to compete with unrecord. Both projects started development around the same time and are fully separate, the same map is a coincidence, as russian building is a very good and popular map with good details, and for the avatar i'm not sure what you're reffering to.

Project direction: We have a lot planned. Some issues could have been avoided early on due to the lack of a proper testing pipeline at the start, but this has changed a lot. We’re now working with more experienced people across different areas.

We know the game has problems, and we’re actively addressing them, even though it doesn't look like much in a player perspective, last update cleaned a lot , and the next one will have multiple rebuilded system.

There are many finished games out there in the same price range that have a complete story and detailed instructions on how to actually advance through mission objectives so people are putting a lot of faith in your group so it wouldn't hurt to communicate with them a little more often. It would go a long way if someone on the team could explain and give some tips and pointers on what is functioning correctly like how to navigate the zombie maps. Its a nightmare trying to get anyone on the same page to where they are not just running wildly about simply trying to survive as long as possible without completing any of the objectives one has to spend hours on YouTube videos to figure out. I also seem to have to face 5 times the amount of zombies ive seen on any video of other completing the village mission solo. I understand that people are working on making this game reach its potential, which is why many of us invested in this project in its early state, but the team isn't doing much on here to help people at least play what IS available. Everything I see explains what will be while not helping anyone with what is.....

Bodycam is in Early Access by design. The goal at this stage is to validate and iterate on the core gameplay, which for Bodycam is the aiming mechanics and the photorealistic approach.

Content depth, player guidance, progression systems, and onboarding are planned, but they are not the absolute priority right now.

Regarding Zombies specifically, the lack of heavy guidance is intentional. We want players to explore and progress freely. Core elements like generators and weapon/grenade crates are deliberately made visible, but how you advance beyond that is left open on purpose.

We also understand that the price point can be a real commitment for some players. Unfortunately, due to development constraints, this was not something we could realistically avoid. We do recognize that this comes with expectations, and we take that responsibility seriously as development continues.

I played everyday almost for about 3 months. But...I find myself not even thinking about it anymore. Personally I don't care about new weapons, or the ability to customize anything...it will play the same no matter what you equip. And other than the arena style shooter....there is not much. Even Hardpoint just gets too chaotic and there is no real approach to tactics that can be applied here. Its all cat and mouse. There needs to be some sort of objective based gameplay and an improvement in the communication system. Im sure when the next update happens it will be exactly the same gameplay....fun for a bit then leave it for a while. It is what it is.

things that was in devleak over a year ago are still not in the game, its not the best idea to think something you seen in devleak last week will be in the next update lol, just take a look at the Halloween update for example lol we got that months after and not even on halloween

also the team expanded but the updates slowed down to the point now it just feels like nothing is getting done, maybe pushing the updates out every month will make the game feel fresh and worth playing, rather then implementing 20 different modifications/systems and releasing big updates, would also give devs time to fix bugs that people report on a smaller scale rather then having to worry about some big system they implemented that has multiple bugs first over something so simple like fixing the scars flip sight which hasnt been touched since people started complaining about for a couple of years now

but i guess when the devs/mods read this, i will be given some generic answer to why the way im thinking is wrong but thats why people boy cotted i suppose 🙂

also the amount of lobbys that are just bot lobbys is terrible, they should be limited to lets say 5 bot lobbys on the server selection screen then when one fills up with enough players then someone else is allowed to open up another bot lobby, game used to be fun when everyone was real players but now its just lifeless when you got to wait 5 matches just for one player to join your match and even then when they get slaughtered by you they leave then your back to bots

That's like my answer received regarding zombie mode....we purposefully left out any instruction so players would explore and progress freely....with no check points and no actual communication where players that join just leave out of frustration and you get overrun an hour into the game all for nothing. And the lobby thing is awful as something comes up or if the lobby holder gets bored or frustrated you all get kicked out and several times that has happened when we had actually built a good group having a great time. It should at least get passed to the next player or something. Again, so much potential but just sloppy altogether. It's all revolves around complete chaos where you never seem to ever get a foothold. I look at games like DOOM 2016 and how that was 10 years ago and games today, for all the advancements in technology, just don't hold a candle to that decade old quality. So that just kinda points towards the people themselves are what the problem is and they just don't seem to hold to any standards like that anymore. It really has become a toxic take it or leave it kinda attitude with a bunch of empty promises that are few and far in between

Strongly disagree. people can make excuses for the devs all they want. A game's success is based off the amount of units they sell and their player base. i'm not looking just at numbers but im looking at the updates and what they consist of.. rather than having these big updates once or twice a year, smaller and more frequent updates addressing bugs/issues would benefit the game and community way more if they wanted to keep this game alive. Next updates are decisive, a lot of old code is being reworked to stabilize the game and prepare for new features like the loadout, which is why updates take time.

It's a bit more complicated. To give you a rough example, we had a weekly meeting, and at that meeting, I would ask, for instance, if I could talk about the village map, etc., and they would tell me no, not at the moment.

There are spots on the zombie map Village where zombies can only come from one direction, bridge leading up to the church is a good one (Not the long one, the short one further down)

You can sit here with M4, AK, Scar and wait for zombies to line up. 600 zombie kills is around 450 Reissad points

You can do the same in the basement on Asylum if you have multiple people (zombies will come from 3 directions)

I suppose you can do it solo aswell in the Asylum basement if you first grab the generator for the control room and you sprint back to the elevator, if it goes bad you can hit the elevator button 😏

From what i've seen in game the best guns for consistent wall penentrating are as follows

AK, scar, m4, svd, deagle, revolver

However only seems to work consistently on maps such as Bomb House and Airsoft as on most other maps you won't even be able to penentrate a curtain consistently

If you want to fully test it though, go private lobby with friend on either bomb house or airsoft, you'll both be on the same team so you'll see name through wall, just line up and shoot to see which guns penentrate, and how far they penentrate

Well, I already found the correct manifest, the download of the game files was over, but the game was still on the latest version, although I had a second image of the game with the old version installed on the path /Steam/steamapps/content

I even ran that exe file of the game on that path, but the game still ran with the latest version.

the ai isnt the best overall. it is supposed to adapt to your skill level but the ai either plays like a complete idiot and cant hit a single shot or it literally tracks you through the walls and 1 taps you at an inhumanly fast speed. very rarely have i played with bots that are challenging enough to be fun and feel like real players but not overpowered as ive mentioned before. the bots r okay but could def use some work.
