when you open the game you should see the play button in the bottom right, if you click that you should see a couple options, press join server and you'll see the list of open servers you can join

9mm works with bone very differently than 7.62 because 7.62 against the head tends to cause multiple bone fragmentation of the skull whereas 9mm does not, or rarely does

They certainly need more publicity, in my opinion, but that is not even close to their primary problem. The issue is that rather than improving the game's core, they keep releasing new content. Because Unrecord has a technical understanding of realism, it blew up off one preview. Bodycam doesn’t.

Anyone who understands how exposure and lighting actually work can tell you that Bodycam is not realistic, despite the constant attempts to make it seem so. The game's improper use of Unreal Engine 5 is their actual problem. Lumen, appropriate global illumination, and realistic exposure behaviour are not utilised. UE5 appears to be using UE4 lighting presets.

The most obvious clue is the lighting. Harsh exposure changes, bright highlights blowing out, dark interiors destroying detail, and continuous auto-adjustment are all features of real bodycam footage. The lighting on a bodycam doesn't do any of that. It appears to be typical FPS lighting and is controlled and flat. Realistic camera response, dynamic range, and a simulated sensor are all absent. It doesn't appear to be a camera capturing actual events. It appears to be an attempt to mimic it by a game engine.

If they want realism, they need proper exposure adaptation, proper contrast handling, and actual dynamic lighting. None of that is theirs. The entire purpose of a bodycam style is ruined by the game's current clean appearance.

It's made worse by the map design. They continue to create tiny house maps with no skill requirements and no exposure or lighting parameters. Bodycam lighting cannot be displayed in a small hallway. There is no room for autoexposure to respond, and the sources of light are not varied. The maps are too small for realistic camera behaviour or tactical play, so it's just spray and pray. Open maps, indoor-to-outdoor transitions, and layouts that genuinely test the engine and players are what they require. None of that is what they are doing.

When this game was released before Unrecord, it had promise, but they squandered it. They concentrated on random side modes like zombies rather than enhancing lighting, realism, movement weight, and environment quality. They disregarded the fact that a real campaign with room clearing would have been a perfect fit for the game.

The game feels hurried and unpolished at the moment. Trees, structures, graffiti, signs, and props are all devoid of detail. Nothing appears to be recorded. Nothing appears to be a genuine setting.

I don't think this game will ever catch on. And this game is finished when Unrecord comes out. A game that truly comprehends lighting, camera behaviour, and realism on a technical level is unbeatable.

it was bound to hit low numbers given the awful state of the game at release

if they iron out all the bugs and issues, run a gigantic campaign, pay streamers, etc etc

then the game could become easily 10x as large as it is rn

TLDR, the first 2 are more of gameplay issues/abuses, for the climbing, it will be improved, regen is slow and thought for the zombie and tbh, seeing the TTK of bodycam, it doesn't really matter, sound designed is being reworked, from footsteps to gun sound, for the ammo counter, what you've seen is very early and more of a proof of concept of limited ammo, RC cars will be used in a very specific way and won't be unrealistic asf, for interactions etc... we showed some destructions of walls etc.. again, it's very early in production, but knowing the backstage, i can assure you that exept the zombie mode which have some unrealistic concepts, the core game is in a very good way, sadly, we want to take our time to make things right 🙏

Devs, what are you doing. Stop developing new things and focus on optimizing the game and creating proper matchmaking first. After that, drop a ton of content and a discount on Steam to boost the player count. Then start working on new content and new features etc…

I’ve been waiting for over a year now for Bodycam to play even somewhat okay, but it’s just not playable in its current state and that’s a shame, because it’s a really good game (if action is actually taken).🥲🥲🥲
