In the global settings theres something called dsr - factors. Just put that to 4k then you got 4k on 1080p or 1440p monitors

They updated their engine for MW2 2022 (basically a downgrade), making everything worse, from graphics and visuals to gameplay and mechanics, most issues are still unpatched, like forced anti-aliasing, blurry and noisy visuals, higher aim assist for controllers, terrible aiming with two types of sway, broken weapon recoil, penalties for aiming in jump/slide, all game elements are worse than in older entries

The new MW2 2022 engine (and up to BO7) caused these problems in games using this engine, they still can’t even properly integrate the new DLSS and Frame Generation, optimization is terrible, on a 5090 and 9800X3D it barely hits 150-200 FPS
I still haven’t even listed all the problems of this new engine, you can just google it, and specifically talking about MW3, it’s like 100 times worse than BO6, in BO6 there are far fewer movement/shooting restrictions and so on
I really tried hard to explain it clearly and understandably, while keeping my words very limited
In short, the new MW2 2022 engine is to blame for everything, unfortunately, that’s a fact, it’s responsible for the problems in the new Call of Duty games, and in MW4 the engine will be updated again :3

I will admit compared to mw 2019 the max graphics do look worse on the new games and I talked about that on the bo6 steam forum once but I'd also say these games look better at their lowest settings with high textures/anisotropic filtering compared to that game and also the visual noise problems ive noticed are tied to every form of reflections in this game and honestly turning those off helps a lot.
The forced anti aliasing does kinda stink but I dont thinks its that bad on pc because you can dodge it by turning on nvidia image scaling on full resolution/fsr native or use the updated dlss preset k that works incredibly well on mwiii (idk about bo6 I havent played since season 1) which removes the taa blur and is even less blurry than mw 2019 when you had any anti aliasing on which were only taa options too except fxaa and didnt have the crusty aspects of no aa. Also, I dont think its the engines fault that zero aa isn't an option but the devs fault becauae you CAN have anti aliasing off in mwii and back when bo6 took over cod hq while the games were still on that, I had I high chance for the game to act like I didnt have a dlss capable nvidia card and it would turn me on the hidden no anti aliasing option on both bo6 and mwiii whenever it happened.
The aim assist buffs are ass yeah idk what they're doing but thats not the engines fault? They can modify the values if they want but they decided to go this route.
The sway sucks but mwiii and bo6 thankfully made it negligible/not as bad with it starting near zero when you aim and it only ramps up after a few seconds
Are you talking about the visual aspect or the actual recoil? The visual problem is mostly on mwii guns because they want their ""realism"" but mwiii and bo6 are fine especially with scopes but real recoil is just about the same as mw2019/cold war depending on the game

Mostly, you wrote nothing related to what I said. Graphics on minimum settings, if you compare MW3 and MW19, are objectively 100 times worse in MW3, and on top of that, they are NOISY, textures are grainy/rusty/dirty, especially if you enable high texture settings. The visual noise isn’t tied only to reflections, in fact there aren’t many of them since it’s just normal SSR; the noise is everywhere, most noticeable in textures and shadows, especially in dark areas where light doesn’t hit (basically GI areas).
Forced anti-aliasing is the main problem in modern games. The concept of “bypassing” it with FSR/DLSS/sharpening, etc., doesn’t work because the image still suffers and the noise in the picture becomes more noticeable, just like in SAS games, and also due to the “sharpening” itself. A DLSS preset cannot compare to MW2019 with anti-aliasing, considering that in MW19 you could at least turn off AA, and even the strongest SMAA (the only AA type in the game with 3 quality levels, which adds blurriness) is nowhere near what DLSS with some preset does in MW3. In MW2, AA couldn’t be fully turned off, it was forced, and MW2 has always been on the new engine — MW2 2022 was never on the old engine; the new engine came with MW2 2022.
Aim assist is also the engine’s fault because it’s built into the game engine. Bullet registration and their behavior for different devices are also implemented in the new engine — that’s ALSO the new engine’s fault (look it up, don’t assume). They can fix anything if they modify the engine (AA got better after BO6, it started applying to players more properly :3).
Sway (while aiming, if I understood correctly) hasn’t been fixed. They just brought back the old system, and even that not fully. The system starts with no sway and then ramps up slightly, but it’s not even restored for sniper rifles. The screen sway plus crosshair offset from the center (meaning there are two sways on all weapons/categories at once) is still in the game and nobody will remove it.
Recoil is completely broken, it shakes the screen a lot and unpredictably. Properly, it should have been real recoil, not visual. In BO6 this is much better; in MW3 there’s still very strong screen shake from MW2. No game on the new engine has recoil like MW2019. Even BO6 with minimal visual recoil and camera shake can’t compare to the old engine (look it up, don’t assume).
How can gameplay penalties “not bother”? Opinions don’t work here either. They literally made gameplay worse multiple times. “It doesn’t bother me” is objectively nonsense. Yes, penalties exist in the engine, nobody will remove them. They could make aiming time after jump/etc. the same as standing, but as we see, they don’t want to.
So again, I just repeated the facts I wrote before. I don’t know why you voiced your opinions/assumptions/false claims about this, knowing literally nothing. Everything is the engine. Everything in the game exists in the engine. There’s no “I think it’s not the engine.” Even talking about penalties after jumps/slides, visual recoil, normal recoil — all of it is in the engine. The parameters may be modified, but they still exist in the engine and there’s no other way. That’s just a fact. There’s no “I think it’s not the engine’s fault.”

Bo6 and mwiii dont have any of those issues because they offer ways to alleviate them and toned downed how shakey the gun animations are, while mwii was all for those issues
Example: In mwiii even though it still has the jumpshot nerf they reduced the ads slowdown from 2x to 1.5x and offer a perk to remove the penalty completely as well as jumpshot animations being more stable

Oh the story line, well yea this game could use some of that. The guns are good on RON agree but realistic movement and such are cheesy to me. And not because you can’t run (the AI can out maneuver you 😭). But I do like the squad customization and the orders you can give.

Imo the gun system is a bit scuffed for my preference, the reload animations are very bad.
On the other hand I enjoy something different, I do get quite an adrenaline rush while playing.
I really like the zombie mode but I think it could get improved a lot. For example, the button for interacting with things is the same as to peek on the right side, alongside with some other (imo) scuffed mechanics.
However I don't think the game in the current state is worth 30e (it's a lot for me since I'm going to school and don't have a job).
