The thing you see on the monitor is interpreted data from the PC. Fps being a part of that data. What your monitor shows is not the raw data, nor is it the one doing the processing. I have a 60hz monitor, and if I went into a game and checked the fps and it was 100, that doesn't mean the fps counter is lying, that just is the amount of fps I'm getting. It doesn't matter if the monitor can present that fps, that doesn't change anything other than what YOU can observe. Now of course, this is VERY simplified, but some of you here are very uneducated on the topic, so I don't wanna throw a bunch of random shit nobody understands nor cares about.
