other new mods that could be the problem are SimpleEnemyRando and HKS item randomizer

You either don't have all the dependancies or you installed them wrong, use Cogfly or another mod manager, it'll handle it for you so you don't make mistakes

if you're on Windows 11, you might need to roll back your last major updates. The updates that came out in Jan l, and that were "fixed" twice this month, have been known to cause various system instabilities, including recruiting crashes
