I posted this on the Nexus Mods page as a mod request previously but I thought I'd post it here as well.

I saw someone do a "all crests can crit" mod but it's not quite what I had requested as a mod so I was wondering if someone here could either make the mod request or reverse engineer the mod the guy made but implement the idea I had.

The mod concept is pretty simple.
We all know how the wanderer crit chance is abysmally low (I think it's like 2% without dice and 2.2% with them), however I was thinking of a little mod that could improve it on the long run. Think of it as an upgrade to the wanderer's crest just like we can upgrade the base hunter crest.

Essentially I was thinking of a mod that improves that crit chance. Considering you need a full silk bind available to actually have the crit chance possible, I was thinking of something to increase the crit chance incrementally based on the amount of silk you have on top of the initial silk bind requirement (with a cap at like 10% or 15% to keep it balanced).
Since you gain 1 silk spool every time you get both silk spool fragments, and with the spool extender you get a total of 21 silk available, it could start at the 2% at the 9 silk required, and then increase your chance by 0.5% or 1% per silk obtained. This would make the wanderer crest have a crit chance of 8% at full spool with spool extender for a 0.5% increment and 14% crit chance with a 1% increment, which seems like a balanced enough upgrade IMO.

Having the dice equipped would also work in tandem with it making it an 8.8% crit chance (since it multiplies it by 1.1x) at max spool for a 0.5% increment or 13.2% crit chance for a 1% increment, which makes it more interesting without it being absolutely broken.
Probably also having an option to decide what the incremental is would be nice too to experiment on different setups (just like the guy made it possible to crit all the time).

interesting... sounds like youd first have to code the wanderers crest to check for extra spool slots and if it finds it to increase the max crit rate by x amount

Making it either 8.8% with dice equipped at max silk with all silk spools collected (.5% incremental) or 13.2% with dice equipped at max silk with all spools collected (1% incremental)

So I'm guessing this isn't very hard to do nor is it impossible to do considering we got people doing custom crests lol

I feel like they missed an opportunity to make that the wanderer's upgrade in base game since we can only upgrade the hunter's crest

It seems to check if your crit state is enabled before giving you the chance at all

Oh damn so it's also nullified if you are infected with maggots regardless of the amount of silk you have I didn't know that

Can't it just be built upon the "IsWandererLucky" variable?

wanderer state has 2 other things built into that

and neither seem to be crit chance related

I mean if someone was able to replicate the crest's crit variable to put it on all crests and allow the user to change the crit chance percentage through a menu, then I guess it has to be somewhere

They had to drop a hotfix because it could crit before bind was ready
