Please provide more information!
People cannot help you if they do not know all of what is going on.
Your post should include Useful Information, such as:
- Detailed explanation (What is wrong, what have you tried, what are you expecting to happen, etc)
- Screenshots of the issues / errors (How do I take screenshots?)
- Post your
Modlog.txtfile if you're playing modded (this is found in your Save Files folder, which you can learn how to access by typing?tag modloginto chat)- -# This is required if you are playing modded. This is not required if your problem is getting the game to be modded.
- What Operating System you are on (Windows / MacOS / Linux / Other)
- What patch are you on (This should show on the main menu)
- What Mod Installer you are using (Lumafly / Scarab / HKMM / ModInstaller1 / ModInstaller2 / Other)
- What platform you are playing the game from (Steam / Gog / Gamepass / Cracked / Pirated)
Additionally, please ensure that you've checked https://discord.com/channels/879125729936298015/1047656117913800704 and the pins of #hk-general for common problems and information.
Starting Pale Court
- Install it using Lumafly
- You must have ||All dreamers||
- You must have ||defeated a specific boss:|| ||White Defender||
- You must then find the location that connects each Knight to the world. You can watch the Launch Trailer if you want directions where to go.
Known problems with Pale Court
- MAKE SURE YOU ARE USING THE LATEST UPDATED VERSION
- AdditionalMaps, Randomizer 4, Extra MenuBackgrounds, EssenceAlways (and any mod that attempts to force Essence drops) aren't compatible, and will prevent you from being able to enter fights.
- Using a BenchWarp Deployed Bench in new areas will break the file
- If you accidentally do this, then close the game, disable Benchwarp, then open the file again. Get off the bench you spawn at, and sit down again. Then save+quit, and you should be able to enable Benchwarp again.
- Alternatively, you can open your
user#.modded.jsonfor that file, and edit"atDeployedBench": true,->"atDeployedBench": false,. You can type?tag savefilesfor more information.
- HK Vocalized may prevent you from accessing fights
- (This appears to not be consistently reproducible, but if you can't enter fights, then try disabling it)
- Skill Upgrades will prevent Charms from working correctly
- Hollow Point will not work if Pale Court is installed
- Any mod that adds new Charms may prevent Charms from working.
If you're having other issues, then please read #1047656117913800704 and create a #1047056433767796766 post with the requested info and any details. Be aware that Pale Court was not designed to be compatible with other mods, and you will usually need to choose between using either Pale Court or the other mod(s).
i am stuck in a void area when i closed hk after being in a pale court area and i dont know how to fix it
... did you read the section I suggested?
yes
did you do that?
it doesnt have to do anything with benchwarp
i dont have benchwarp
i never did
hello?
The fix should still work, as it's basically the same problem.
By changing your bench location in your modded save file data
when i try using debug stuff it doesnt work i cant click or use the arrow keys
Debug is not mentioned at all in that section, so I dunno what you're trying to do? But yeah, you need to be paused to use your mouse in debug. Otherwise you'd need to have hotkeys set up
i cant bause
what does this even mean
Please don't ping users with the noping role!
replying automatically pings. And is completely unneessary in a thread like this
yes in fact it does
sorry
If you want to use debug for whatever you're trying to do, you'll need to set up hotkeys while in another file
ok how
how what?
to set up hotkeys
by finding the option you want in debug & picking a button for it
click on the option, push a button
no, you can only bind one button
?? there's no teleport in debug
there is hazard respawn, that's as close as you'll get, but there's no telling where your respawn is right now.
Well yeah, like I said who knows where your respawn is set right now. Probably also out of bounds
This usually happens from either using benchwarp, or sitting on a modded bench & then removing the mod. For either you can adjust your bench in your save file, or if it's just the latter reinstall the mod & move to a vanilla bench
no like i mean when. i click the key it doesnt respawn me like it doesnt do anything even in a normal save fike
file
i've never had a problkem with it. Maybe you bound the wrong thing
what do i do now
Well you've refused all my suggestions so I dunno at this point LMAO
I told you, change your bench in your modded save file. You started messing with all this debug stuff on your own
how do i change my bench
go into the modded save file, find the benchinfo & change it
where is the bench info??
In the modded save data. You can use search if you can't find it
where is the modded save data
that's copvered in the bot message above
ModLog
"ModLog.txt" can be found in the same folder as your save files (you can drag and drop the file into discord)
- Open Modlog with Lumafly (you should be able to copy and paste it into Discord)
- Windows:
%APPDATA%\..\LocalLow\Team Cherry\Hollow Knight\ - MacOS:
~/Library/Application Support/unity.Team Cherry.Hollow Knight/ - Linux:
~/.config/unity3d/Team Cherry/Hollow Knight/
Note: some mod installers such as Lumafly have an "Open Saves Folder 📁" button which allows you to find the ModLog easily. Otherwise, follow the steps below:
To get the ModLog on Windows
- Press
⊞+R
- Note:
⊞is the Windows button, in betweenCtrlandAlton your keyboard
- Copy and paste this into it
%appdata%\..\LocalLow\Team Cherry\Hollow Knightand hit "OK". ModLog.txtis in this folder.
To get the ModLog on MacOS
- From the Finder, click "Go" in the menu at the top of the screen and select "Go to folder".
- Copy and paste this into it
~/Library/Application Support/unity.Team Cherry.Hollow Knight/and pressenter. ModLog.txtis in this folder.
Dude, I'm not like, sitting here waiting you to ask another question. If mac text editors don't have search then I guess you're gonna be manually looking.
I have no idea. I've never needed to save edit.
so when i do find benches what do i change it to'
The answer is in the bot's message that was sent earlier. Also mac text editors do have a search functionality
how
how to use search
command + F
thank you
so i change at deploed bench to false?
also the search only works to find modlog not stuff in modlog
that cant help me search in the modlog it searches files not stuff in files
so its bassically useless
If you do it in the finder you'll search for files, if you do it in a file it'll search in that file, but the value you need to change isn't in your modlog
then where is it
so i search that
It'll be in the same folder as your modlog
No. In the same folder, but not the same file. The folder is your saves folder, unity.Team Cherry.Hollow Knight
i dont get it
The file you're looking for, userX.modded.json, is in your saves folder, unity.Team Cherry.Hollow Knight, which you can open with Lumafly's open saves folder button, not sure what else I can explain
The answer, again, is in the bot's message
so i change it to false
ok
i cant edit
Does it have anything to do with this
hello
those aren't the ones mentioned in the bot's message but you can try changing them to
"SceneName": "Town",
"RespawnMarkerName": "RestBench"
why?
what does it looks like?
do i open it with textedit
for example. I guess you were in the preview
i am a dumbass please forgive me
so would i so respawn scene town
and respawn marker name to restbench
ok thanks
wait is it town or Town and restbench Restbench or RestBench
it's the way I sent them earlier
save and then yeah, close it. Afterwards edit the same values in userX.json (not modded) because I'm actually not sure if Pale Court's save values override the vanilla ones
That one is generated by QoL as a way to edit saves, but there are other ways to edit the normal file directly:
?tag saveedit
Editing save files
You can edit various values of save files. Below are different available methods.
- [MoreSaves Mod](<https://github.com/TheMulhima/MoreSaves/) | Install
- With the MoreSaves mod installed, you can edit save files from the in-game Menu. Either from the Main Menu or Pause Menu, go to Options > Mods > MoreSaves to edit save files in game.
- QoL mod | Install
- If you open a save file with QoL installed, you'll have an extra file called
user#.json(where#is the file number), which can be edited using Notepad or a similar text editor. If you do not know where your saves are located, type?tag savesfor more information
- If you open a save file with QoL installed, you'll have an extra file called
- DebugMod | Install
- While not an intended purpose, you can edit some parts of your save file using Debug, such as Nail Damage, and those changes will remain even after uninstalling the mod.
- Website
- Find the Save File, upload it to the website, and make the edits. It will Download as save file for Slot 1, so rename it if needed. If you do not know where your saves are located, type
?tag savesfor more information
