Hello, I would like to make the dialogue/text box/bubble disappear so that I can take a short video capture of this scene (see photo) to use it as an animated wallpaper (wallpaper engine).
Is this possible ?
Because it doesn't look very nice with the text box.
Thanks πŸ™‚

There should be a key in Debug mod to hide the UI

I'm not sure if it removes dialogue boxes though

#

Personally I don't remember ever seeing anything that removed dialogue boxes

Ho sad ... 😭 Thanks for the answers anyway πŸ™‚

It would make sense there isnt a "remove dialogue mod",since that would softlock you
But "toggle dialogue box" would be nice, actually

Do you still need it? I think I can create a temporary mod to do that

A temporary mod? Lol

I mean "temporary" because it would be better to have this feature in Debug mod. However, I have to read the understand the mod's codebase to contribute, which takes like, lots of efforts and I dont have much time

Something with the layers maybe?

Turns out they are simply located in _GameCameras/HudCameras/DialogueManager feelspkman

Where should I change it ? Sorry I'm verry new for modding shroompog

tawdry blade
#

No no, you don't need to understand that. I am writing one for you

#

But actually you can manually do that with with Unity Explorer mod:

  1. Install Unity Explorer on Lumafly/Scarab
  2. Go the the room and talk to someone that you want to hide the text box
  3. Press F7
  4. You should see there's a dropdown menu on near-top of the Object Explorer window, click on that and choose "DontDestroyOnLoad"
  5. Search for DialogueManager in the text field below that drop down menu and press enter
  6. Uncheck the green box next to the text DialogueManager to hide it
  7. Press F7 again to hide the Unity Explorer UI and enjoy
This method would make you freeze talking with the NPC but since you're using this to make background, it should be fine

Feel free to ask anything if you are stuck with something

#

Just download and drop the zip file to mod folder of Hollow Knight and then Extract it

Yes we pleasure ! I was planning to publish it in the wallpaper engine workshop πŸ˜‰

tawdry blade
#

Actually no need to publish to the workshop. Only a gif is enough

@tawdry blade Hi ! I'm so sorry for the long delay, but I've been very busy (moving to another country). Thank you so much for the mod ! It works perfectly !! Thanks again ! grubheart (If there's one update to add to this mod, it would be that when you talk to a character, their name (which often appears in the bottom left or right corner) should also disappear).

#

So I posted the animated wallpaper on Wallpaper Engine zote

#

If you don't have Wallpaper Engine, I can make you a GIF if you'd like.

#

(If you have Wallpaper Engine) Feel free to check out my workshop profile , I've made lots of animated Hollow Knight wallpapers ! chaosknight
