I've been running into extremely strange issues on my current patch install, which have not been resolved through redownloading the game OR verifying the integrity of my game files. Issues are....

Dream warriors and bosses spawn with odd timings or start moving immediately.
Explosions don't deal any damage
I can walk through any door in the game
crystal guardian lazer and hornet needle throw don't work and break the boss AI
Soul warrior orb circle doesn't rotat
Grub mimic spawns instantly upon room enter
Stag menus also look strange with the stags not layering with even distance from eachother on the UI

Uh, help?

I'm playing on 1.5.78 with only debug, benchwarp, godseeker+ installed + dependencies, mods load like normal

oh, and registry was cleared to no avail

  • Have you tried multiple saves?
  • Could you browse local files, enter the Holow Knight_data/Managed folder and delete all its contents?
    NOTE: the above will wipe any installed mods and their files (such as skins), saves will be kept

Then verify integrity and reinstall the modding api and any mods

If it still happens, try deleting all files ending with .GlobalSettings.json at %appdata%/../LocalLow/Team Cherry/Hollow Knight
NOTE: back up the Hollow Knight folder beforehand, to be safe
(This will return all mod settings to default)

I would also suggest posting the modlog and player log (the second can have your computer username in it, if you care)

By the way, when you say 'which have not been resolved through redownloading the game OR verifying the integrity of my game files', does this mean it happens on vanilla, or do you mean you verified integrity and then installed mods again?

Blue are you still on Scarab instead of Lumafly? As your Satchel looks to be outdated.

Does scarab cause mods to be outdated?
That doesn't really make sense to me

scarab frequently misses updates. One of the most common problems with using it.

And then it sets the "flag" (not sure if that's the right term) to updated so if you switch to lumafly after it's missed one, lumafly also things it's updated. That's why there's the force update command
