Premise is that you and your opponent will switch places with each other at random intervals during the game. Before the switch, you're trying to set up traps for your opponent to fall into once the switch occurs. So like in Hollow Knight, one player might towards a spike pit right before they predict the switch will occur.

In Hollow Knight, you have to play around with the rules, but I'm guessing it'd be near impossible to get consistent kills if the players are allowed to regain hearts, so heart regen wouldn't be allowed.

Would probably require HKMP, and if so would definitely require the version of HKMP that synchronizes entities

Could definitely be interesting but I think you're right that mechanisms for consistent kills would need some help

That being said, Entity Sync works based on being in the same Room, so that still wouldn't actually do much.

That's a big turnaround from the last update I saw from far before that where it was determined not to be technically feasible and was accordingly abandoned
