#Lag Spikes and Performance Drops Modding

I noticed whenever playing that my hollowknight FPS would slowly but steadily drop over the course of 20 minutes; highly likely caused by the particular set of mods I'm running.
Whenever I exit and reenter the save, it's as if it reloads and my FPS magically skyrockets again.

Wondering if it's due to the ultrawide mod as I am on an ultrawide monitor.

GPU: RTX 3080, CPU: Ryzen 5600x

Currently thinking culprit can be WideCamera

edit: still persists without WideCamera ARGHHH

I would suggest uninstalling Upgraded Dreamshield and uninstalling Already Enough Playmaker

#

The former is known to break things that check for dreamshield, and the latter isn't really meant to be used with other mods

I had both deactivated and the lag issue was still persisting

#

would posting my enabled mods here help

They're included in the modlog, posting a fresh log from after you disabled things would be good

#

disabled a bunch of mods and I got the issue to go away

#

now to narrow it down

#

I hope it's not charm overhaul conflicting with fyrenest or transcendence

#

still having gradual lag issues

#

I'm not sure if it's just the hollow knight engine or the mods; playing for a while makes the game steadily laggier until I quit to main menu then rejoin the save

Generally, if you're playing for a long time then you will see the game run a bit worse after time, as HK loads in a lot of stuff as you play, and doesn't fully unload a lot of it until it's closed. (This is a thing in vanilla HK, but in 1.5 it's generally not as noticeable; it becomes significantly more noticeable when either playing Modded, because there's more assets, or when playing older patches, where the issue can result in infinite loading screens)

If you are not actively playing the modded boss(es), then I would suggest disabling WeaverCore and the Boss mods that you have active with it, as that could be adding "bloat" to the game.

would it still cause lag and stuff even if I'm not actively battling the bosses? I feel like they shouldn't be loaded in then

#

I would go from 144 fps extremely stable to 119 after like 30 mins of gameplay in an area with lots of moving assets like deepnest

ahhh gotcha

#

wondering if fyrenest can be a source of lag

lethal bridge
#

uninstalling should be enough to get rid of the lag?

It's def gotten better since I trimmed it down, but there's still noticeable frame drops and stutters; mind combing over the modlog real quick?
