#Hollow knight boots up vanilla

I'm on Windows, playing on steam, I've tried Lumafly and omegamaggotprime (it says scarab but in the FAQ it calls it Modinstaller2) on whatever the default patch is.

I followed the steps in the video for omegamaggotprime By downloading the most recent github for windows, creating a scarab folder in hollow knight local files, and unzipping it via extraction, but every time I start up the game it's just default hollow knight, the loading bar doesn't show.

I then tried doing it with Lumafly, but couldn't find exact instructions for it so I just downloaded it, and since there was no option to unzip, I directly dragged it to hollow knight local files.

I also checked the path for both installers and they were correct (also clarifying that I didn't use both at the same time, I tried one, didn't work, tried dragging some of the modded files around and reinstalling, didn't work, so uninstalled them all and then tried the other.)

Don't think there's a point in screenshots for this because it's literally identical to how it's shown to be.

Hopefully I haven't forgotten anything, any help is greatly appreciated.

For lumafly you just run the executable and then open the app wich should install. It should automatically detect a path. Then you can install mods. You have to open the game onece so the mods can make their folders. If you open via lumafly everytime it should work with both vanilla and modded with the launch vanilla and launch modded buttons.

It goes over how to install lumafly and it worked for me. The otherbit with multiplayer is irrelevant to you if you just want lumafly

Have you pressed 'Launch modded' in lumafly?
