Hello, I wanted to ask if there were any thoughts from the side of the mod developers about adding Pale king to the Pale court mod as the final boss. It would be a nice culmination and I was thinking that it will be like this when I saw the trailer some time ago. As one of the key characters, I am quite surprised that there is no mod except for the Child of light mod in which he acts as a replacement for Radiance with the same moveset. Are there any mods with him as a boss with unique moveset in development? For other characters which I am quite surprised do not have their own mod are Lord Fool and Unn. There could be also mods with Iselda as she was once a warrior and probably the great mushroom in fungal wastes.

The pale court devs have gone on record stating that they likely won’t add pale king for a few reasons

Interesting, I suppose that a memory of him lingers in the mind of many bugs so it could manifest itself, but that is just mine interpretation of the story, But maybe someone could consider creating this kind of mod.

# hearty cove What were the reasons?
  1. For a mod trying to stick close to accurate lore, having Pale King as a fight makes 0 sense because the godseeker ponders "A God so strong... Yet erased so completely. How could it happen? " implying he is beyond the reach of even diving into memories.
  2. The King probably wasn't a fighter at all, wouldn't make sense for him to be a final boss, he had his Great Knights for that.
  3. Adding him was beyond the original scope, and by the time that scope really expanded, it was far too late to be adding in an entire extra full boss with as much content would be required of him, and how long it'd be to develop, bug test, and balance test him. Plus there was the ticking clock of Silksong releasing.

Fully unique boss mods with new assets are not easy to make, I mean, they'd probably function as bosses if you're creative, but someone is unlikely to be inspired to make a larger mod like that from a post here.
