I updated/installed the latest version of scarab to set up a modlist for a friend so that we could play together. I disabled some mods and went into hollow knight for some testing, but when I finished loading in, I saw that the mods I tried to disable were still enabled.
I tried fiddling around somewhat, like manually routing to the hollow knight directory, and after that scarab seemed to reset all mods to being uninstalled, a while later, it simply refused to open. I reinstalled scarab and started redownloading all the mods that supposedly were uninstalled, disabled most of them, and opened hollow knight for more testing. Hollow knight loaded in (after like 10-15 minutes) and every single mod I downloaded, probably 25-45 mods, were enabled, most of which were set to be disabled in scarab.

Scarab can unfortunately be unreliable at disabling mods, manually moving them into the disabled folder or just uninstalling them when not in use is more reliable
But they ARE in the disabled folder, they're just also outside it
Yes, the ones that are Outside of it need to be dragged inside of it :P
Also, common reasons of it failing to load/delete them:
How to fix Installer Errors
🔹 Make sure Hollow Knight is CLOSED.
🔹 Make sure that the installer has been Extracted from the .zip and that the new folder isn't in your Downloads folder.
🔹 Right-click the installer file, and select "Run as Administrator".
Notably the first and third bullet
I mean there are duplicates, for example benchwarp, which is actually supposed to be activated, is both in the disabled folder, and outside the disabled folder
Okay?
